I flew for awhile, following a just barely visible Superboy and the clear prints he left on the ground as he landed and jumped again and again.

"The damaged monkeys are able to track the parts. We will use them to follow you as fast as we can." I heard Aqualad say to me on the comms.

"Okay. It looks like the two parts are converging and I think I'm nearing Gotham. I'm going at my top speed, but soon they are going to get out of my line of vision." I said back loudly (The wind was making is hard to hear myself), noticing another box of the parts joining with the original.

"We're sending Kid on ahead to meet you. Aqualad out." Aqualad stated in his usual, calm and serious manner.

I scanned the horizon just to see a black dot climb into a moving train car. I sighed, knowing that that dot was Superboy.

"C'mon." I muttered to myself as I sped up. I saw Superboy fly out of the car and I caught him in mid-air, before placing him on the roof of one of a building close by. He nearly crashed into the window.

He glared at me, "I don't need anyone's help!" he said, yanking away from me.

I examined him, he was covered in dirt and his shirt was ripped up.

"Yes, you do." I retorted, before calmly saying softly, "And that's nothing to be ashamed about. C'mon Superboy, I know you're mad about Superman. I saw it earlier today. But this is too far."

He tried to interrupt me, but I silenced him. "I lost my parents too. My father is halfway across the galaxy. I can't see him anyway. The people of my village banished me because of my powers. They killed my mother because she tried to protect me. So don't say I don't know how you're feeling!" I told him, knowing the exact words that were coming out of his mouth. Sadness and anger welled up in me and my voice cracked when I meantioned my mother, but I hid my emotions.

We needed Superboy on this mission.

"Jackie, I-" He started to say, a slight trace of guilt in his voice.

He was cut off by an anamatronic figure who could've only been Amazo who flew onto the roof. I switched into a Demon and grabbed my two swords, preparing to fight. Superboy charged him and got smashed into the roof while I changed, creating a hole in which he fell through. Amazo followed him as did I.

Superboy stood on one side of the anamatronic figure, while I was on the other. We had landed in what looked like a school's gymnasium. I readied my swords, and attacked from behind when his attention was focused on Superboy.

"Access: Superman." Amazo said robotically as he swung around and grabbed my swords. I kicked him before pushing off, letting go of my swords. He threw them to the ground, and swung to hit me to the side, nailing me.

Superboy attacked next, before landing in a crumpled heap after a few powerful blows. Amazo walked over and grabbed my wrist, raising me up. I felt my strength leave me as I realized that he was absorbing my power.

"Earlier, he could only study and mimic your abilities. But now, with the help of Martian Manhunter's abilities. Amazo can absorb new powers." Ivo said from the stands, where he had been watching his creation fight. I threw a weak punch at Amazo before I felt a burning sensation.

My necklace.

Panic rose in me. It couldn't do this now. I looked to see my necklace, which consisted of a silver heart with a ruby-like Ancorian stone in the middle on a black cord. I couldn't risk it activating now. Not with Superboy here. He couldn't see.

But it was, and new strength came into my body. My hair was blacker than ever and my eyes turned silver. My nails turned into claws. The ruby glowed a dark color.

I was a Demon.

Before I was only accessing the surface power of both my Angel and my Demon powers by using the necklace my parents gave me. Without it, in those forms I, well, I lost myself. I would not be me anymore. That was the curse of being both an Angel and a Demon, not one or the other.

But sometimes, it activated, letting my true powers through. I didn't know if it was the memories of telling Superboy or the fight or what.

A wave of anger spiked through me as the transformation completed. My Demon form was alway so angry. I kicked the robot in the chest and broke free of Amazo's grip. I slashed him and then spun a leg to knock him to the ground.

Stop it!!

I had to stop before I lost myself to my Demon form. My Demon didn't have allies, what if it beat Amazo just to turn on the Team? I calmed myself down and pressed the necklace, willing myself to turn back. I took deep breaths and tried to focus.

The strength left me and I fell to the ground in my normal form. I was normal again. Amazo got up and towered over me, he prepare to smash me me into the ground, but I felt someone grab me and super-speed out of the way.

Kid and Robin were on the scene. I looked up weakly, my energy completely drained from the transformation (even though it was brief) and Amazo. I looked up at the three boys. When did Superboy get there? Did they see me trasform?

Before I passed into unconsciousness, I whispered "Get 'em boys." with a slight smile. I'll worry about that later.

The next thing I knew was blackness.

Okay, okay. I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in forever and then I update with this stupid thing. This chapter is terrible, but I thought it was better than nothing. You people are awesome and you didn't deserve to wait as long as you did. I will edit it later and I promise that the next chapter will be better.
