The room was bright, cold and shining. Thomas would've done anything to have sunglasses. Earlier, the men had taken away all his clothing and had forced him to wear a white prison jumpsuit before belting him to a chair. So there he lay, strapped tightly to a chair as if he were in an asylum, unable to move anything other then his head.
When the door opened, Thomas turned his head away from it defiantly, despite feeling so lonely. But all he heard was one of the agents' voices.
"Heyo, buckeroo!" Greeted the jovial agent that had kidnapped him. "I've got Mister Ghost to babysit Colin and now I'm here to ask a few questions! I shall warn you now, I have a short temper and I will not hesitate to use this taser on you!"
Thomas spun around to face him, eyes wide. "What the hell?! You can't just say that happily! I thought you were the nice one!"
Jack laughed. "Oh, I am the nice one! I'm just very, very good at pretending to be the 'good cop', if you know what I mean. There's a reason I got chosen to help Agent Ghost to investigate your little alien friends."
Bitterly, Thomas looked away. "They're not aliens," He hissed through gritted teeth.
Something cold and metallic pressed against his ribs and Thomas glanced up into the unforgiving, almost terrifying face of Agent Jack Pierce. This was worse than anyone else. "What are they, then? I don't wanna be mean, pal. So, just tell me."
"They're gods," Thomas whispered nervously.
"Gods?"
"From Olympus! Ancient Greek myths! They're the children of the big Gods, and they fell to Earth through a portal! That's all I know!"
The taser dug deeper into Thomas's' ribs. "And your friends? They're both human too, right?"
"Yes, they are," Thomas confessed. "It's only the other four that aren't."
"See? I knew you'd be cooperative," Jack grinned. "But that doesn't add up. So, tell me, what the hell is up with the one who burst into a bunch of flowers? Tree-dude. They're one of your human friends, so what happened there?"
Thomas swallowed fearfully, glancing down at the taser. Jack followed his gaze and then moved the weapon to poke into Thomas's' neck. "It'll hurt more if it zaps you here," Jack shrugged.
With a squeak of fear, and hateful guilt for his cowardness, Thomas confessed, "Joan had kind of accidentally consumed some of Virgil's' blood. They picked up some of the magic stuff from it."
"Virgil's the boy with the ghosts, right?" The taser pressed down harder. "Who are his parents?"
"H-Hades and Persephone," Thomas squeaked. "And th-then we've got Patton, the son of Zeus-"
"Sparky, sparky zap man?"
Thomas blinked. "Uh, sure? Then Logan is the son of Athena-"
"Neck-tie."
"Y-Yeah, why not. A-And then Roman is the son of Aphrodite and Ares."
Jack tilted his head. "Interesting. Is that all?" When Thomas hesitated again, he moved the taser so it stuck up under his chin, pointing through his head. "You don't want to be keeping secrets from me."
"Yes! Yes! That's all!" Thomas cried out. "Please, I don't know anymore!"
In an instant, Jacks' face lit up. "Great! Thank God, that's over with! Did I do a good job?"
Thomas looked at him. "Huh-?"
"You see, there's actually no charge in this," Jack said casually, picking up the taser and looking at it with a small grin. "I forgot to put fresh batteries in when I came to interrogate you, so I just panicked and improvised. I'd never actually touch you with the taser if there was charge in it! I might've hurt ya!"
Thomas stared. "No offence, sir, but I think you're quite mad..."
Jack beamed proudly. "I hear that from nearly everyone I talk to. Now, I've got this Snakes And Ladders board, do you wanna have a go with me?"
.:*:.
Virgil handed his ring over to Patton. "Here, you're gonna need this more than me."
Patton blinked. "Huh? Why's that?"
"Because you're simply the clumsiest," Logan said. "The ring will keep you safe if you do make a noise. The magical enchantments will mute any sound you make."
"What if I wanna talk to you guys?"
Logan shrugged. "Write it down."
"Hey, hey, what about me?" Hissed Roman. "The moment someone sees me, we're gonna cause a fuss!"
Logan arched an eyebrow. "Charm them, then."
Roman pulled back. "No! I don't want to use my powers so vainly-"
"It's for Thomas, Roman," Logan sighed loudly, shutting the pretty god up. "And it doesn't have to be a full charm! A quarter-charm will work just as well on mortals."
"Well, what about you, Logie?" Patton asked. "How are you going to get past?"
Logan held up the Book. "With this. The Book is going to tell me what I need to do, I won't be a problem."
"Virge?" Patton turned to his cousin. "What about you?"
"It's risky," Virgil admitted slowly. "But I was going to do a partial fade. Not enough to put me in the Underworld properly, but enough so my movements are muted and you'd have to look really hard to notice me."
Roman frowned. "If your father finds you-"
"We'll be safely home," Interrupted Virgil. "Besides, if I spend all my energy being partially faded, then hopefully I can leave the fights up to you because I don't really think I'd be much help."
"Really?" Romans' frown grew deeper. "But... But you're Hades's' son, technically, you'd just be able to kill the- oh." The other three gods gave the pretty one a look. Roman flushed, embarrassed. "Oh, okay, I get it now."
In the following silence, they all slowly turned look at the vent. "So, we hide once we've taken out the guy at the cameras?" Patton asked.
Virgil nodded. "That's my plan."
"And Talyn and Joan?" Said Patton, turning to look at Virgil. "It's nearly dawn, they'll both be waking up soon."
The pale god hesitated. "We left a note, right? It'll be fine."
"Enough chatting!" Decided Roman, shouldering Logan out of the way. "I'll go first, I can make sure whoever's in that room is unconscious in seconds. Let's pick up Thomas and all go home. Right?"
His friends nodded. "Right!" They chorused.
And in they went.
