An Autobiography ~

~ All About Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome {PCOS} is a hormonal disorder that is a Syndrome, so not everyone will have the same symptoms. PCOS can or may cause inlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges and or there can be chocolate cysts that are full of blood. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome requires a series of tests to be properly diagnosed and the test results may not come back as positive but like me, I am still awaiting for my test results as you have to stay persistent.

If you or someone you know has been recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or you think you may have PCOS...you may be experiencing these symptoms: absent or irregular periods, hirsutism—unwanted hair growth, hair loss or hair thinning, oily hair and oily skin, hormonal or cystic acne, inability to lose weight, difficulty getting pregnant, insulin resistance, poor sleep patterns/fatigue, mood swings, anxiety and/or depression, menstrual irregularity, abnormal menstruation, absence of menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, shot or light menstruation or spotting, infertility, inappropriate male features, obesity, overweight or weight gain that is out of your control. The pain of menstruation can or may also cause body numbness due to the increasing amount of pain; depending how absent your period has been at long intervals at a time. The numbness can last for a short or a long period at a time, shocking up and down the legs and shocking in the pelvic region; depending how long your menstruation cycle may last at a time.

If you're someone who is experiencing: period irregularity, abnormal period, absent of period, and irregular period while on your period your period pain can or may differentiate between: minor, to mild, to moderat, to severe, to chronic pain in the uterus, ovaries, lower abdomen and stomach with added spotting and blood clots.

The cause of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome are unknown and not well understood by many leading professionals but the condition may involve a combination of genetic disorders and environmental factors. This Syndrome disorder can be managed naturally through lifestyle changes and supplements but not always, unfortunately.

If you are someone or you may know someone who is experiencing and suffering with this disease...know that you are not alone and there is hope. Stay strong. 🎗

~ The Mad Woman

not a moment goes by that we want to cry or scream
rip out our own hair like a crazy woman having a tantrum
scream from the rooftops that this chronic debilitating and exhausting illness
has taken away our freedom and freewill without our permission
leaving nothing left but pools of invisible blood
permanently deeply wounded inside our body
an empty existence and an exploited mind, body and soul
destroying us mentally and physically—repeatedly
now we're only perceived as, "The Mad Woman"
but it's because we're not heard or seen as human
because of the pain it causes us

~ Captive

it hurts when they don't notice
we caused that pain
we make sure they don't notice
but it hurts
it just hurts to think that the pain will never truly be gone from our mind
the pain has scared us permanently, tattooed into our skin
the ink deep, sinking deeper into the tissue of our cold skin
holding us captive
dragging us down
but invisible
with so much power
