Five

"Are you ready to meet him malady?" Magi asked.

"Of course," she said. "Do I look weird?"

"No malady," she said. "You look magnificent."

"But he's wearing such simple clothes," she turned around in front of her mirror. She was wearing a pink dress that reached her knees. It was frilled and had white lace on the top, and was wearing white high heels. "I think I'm ready," she said. The mirror turned into a portal and she put one leg through. "Are you sure you can't come?"

"I'll be with you. You can talk to me in your mind," she answered. Hanna nodded. She went through the portal completely and found herself in a coffee shop. She recognized him immediately. How could she approach him without it looking suspicious? She didn't know.

Kuro was sitting in a large booth with his friends. He had gotten a cookie and a cappuccino and was sipping it slowly as his friends talked.

"Dude so I'm still convinced that that girl is into you," Erin said.

"Shut up," Kuro said, elbowing Erin.

"No really!"

Connie's face was hot. She didn't like when people talked about this. She only had brothers so she never had much of a girly life. She was always used to sports and deflecting punches. This was a foreign subject to her. Even GUYS talked about it.

"Okay seriously shut up guys," Kuro said. Connie knew he saw her face and made them stop. That made her happy and she didn't know why. It made her jealous when they said that that girl liked Kuro. She had an idea why but she obliterated it immediately.

"No no no no no no no," she thought.

"You okay Connie?" Kuro asked.

"Yes," she said, feeling even more heat rise up into her face. "Why did he have to be so PERFECT?!" She thought. "No no wait. I DON'T like him. So why do I feel like this? Ugh it's so FRUSTRATING!"

"You sure you're okay?" he asked again. "You're face is turning purple.... SOMEONE CALL THE AMBULANCE!" She truly had forgotten to breathe. She gasped for air, but couldn't find it. She felt herself slowly fading away, and she passed out.

Hanna gasped. The boy she was waiting to meet got up quickly and carried a girl to the doors. She was a pale shade of purple. "Magi. I can't now. Open the portal back up," she thought.

"Yes malady," a voice in her head said. She hopped through the portal made in the trash can. She got through and found herself covered in trash.

"Urgh. Thanks for the warning of where it'd be," she said. Magi laughed.

"Sorry malady, I will be sure to next time," she sounded close to breaking. Hanna started to laugh right as Magi burst into laughter and they laughed together for a long time.

Kuro was getting really worried now. Connie had been in there a long time. They had gotten there at 4:30 and it was 6:00. He started biting his lip.

"I'm sure she's fine," Erin said. "She'll be out of there any second." Joey had gone home. He had said his mom would be upset. It was just Kuro and Erin.

"Hey, Erin?"

"Yeah?"

"What do girls do when they..... like a guy to a certain extent?"

"Oh dude you serious? I was thinkin the SAME THING!"

"No no, I'm just... curious..... that's all."

"Fine fine I get it. You're embarrased," Erin said.

"No! That's not it," Kuro was blushing now.

"Aww dude I'm just kidding with you. Well a normal girl would probably try to learn all about the guy so she could please him then they would confide in their other girlfriends about what's happening between them," he finished.

Kuro looked at him strangely. "How do you know THAT much?"

"I have sisters," he said while shrugging.

"Still...." Kuro sighed.

"But I have to say," Erin said. "Connie is not an ordinary girl. She might have her own ways of reacting to liking someone that no one else has."

"What do you do when you can't stop worrying about a person?"

"Oh dude you're TOTALLY into her," he said.

"I just don't know..." Kuro said. "She's nice and all but I don't feel like I'm good enough for her."

"I bet she feels EXACTLY the same way. Kuro you're the guy. Guys have to make the first move. She's waiting for YOU to do something. She's afraid of being rejected."

"Wow um ok. Thanks Erin," Kuro said.

"I gotta get home soon so see ya later dude," Erin said. "Don't forget what I told you!" Kuro laughed and waved goodbye to Erin as he left through the glass doors. Kuro heaved a sigh. He still had no idea when Connie was coming out and was starting to get tired. But just as he was about to drift off, a nurse came out of the closed doors and motioned for him to enter. He jumped up and slowly walked into the room. Connie was sleeping soundly on a hospital bed. Her face was no longer purple and Kuro was overjoyed. She was okay. He didn't have to worry anymore. The nurse explained to him that he should probably go back with them so that Connie would have a place to sleep on the way back. She had to rest until the morning. She had pushed herself too far. Kuro agreed and they went back in a short car that was actually very spacious on the inside. Kuro carried her princess style and set her down gently and seated himself in the front seat. He gave the nurse the address and she drove them home.

Connie's mom opened the door and she gasped in relief. She motioned him to come inside and Kuro turned around and told the nurse that he could get home from here. She smiled and waved goodbye and drove off into the night. Kuro walked into the house and saw a clock. He gaped at it. 11:30.

"Oh Kuro," her mom said. "You have no idea how grateful we are to you. What happened?"

"To be honest, I have no clue. We were hanging out at the cafe and Connie was pretty quiet through all of it. I looked over and her face was blue and for a second, I forgot what to do. But then I yelled for someone to call an ambulance and it came a couple minutes later and we all got into the car."

"Where are the others?" she asked.

"They all had to go home. I had nowhere else to be so I waited," he answered.

"We are so blessed to have you in our lives, Kuro," she said and she began to cry.
