🎄3/4
Adrien had to take a time out of the shoot to calm himself after the insult by the photographer. He may have looked like a diva to everyone, but who could blame a teenager. He slumped in his chair and wanted to walk away from the photoshoot.
"Don't be so down about it, Adrien." Said his make-up artists, who was cleaning the brushes.
"Why?" the model asked. "I can't wait till I have the money to buy one of my best friends a gift on the last shopping day. I'll be lucky if I make it to the store on time. Then the jerk over there with a camera wants to scream at everyone, even to me. Seriously, how could father hire him? I don't like to model forever, but it's a job I gave into because I thought it was fun at one time." he finally sighed and leaned to one side of his chair. "Ignore my ranting if you want. You're one of the only ones that listens me."
The artist laughed a bit and sat the brushes down on the counter. "No, it's alright. I wouldn't want to work here either if I was getting yelled at." Said the artist. "For now, go through a song in your head to pass the time. I'm sure someone is telling Gabriel about what's going on. But if you want to walk out, it's only going to cause more trouble."
"You're right." Adrien nodded.
"Don't forget to tell him your side of the story. He'll take your side and punish the bad guy in the room." the artist smiled.
Adrien smiled back and took a deep breath to relax. "Thanks. I'll talk to my father about it and get rid of him." He said.
The artist ruffled Adrien's hair and laughed. "Good boy. Now go give it your best, break time is almost over and there's two hours left."
"Two more hours of lights overheating me as I wear an ugly sweater." The blonde laughed.
The makeup artist sent watched Adrien go back to work and wondered how that conversation would go.
"This is simply an outrage, Mr. Agreste!" the photographer shouted. "How am I supposed to photograph your son who you claim to be a model if he can't simply model to my instruction?"
Gabriel glanced at Adrien while walking into the room with photographer. "He's doing what he's told to do. He's perfect because he's my son."
The photographer scoffed. "Well that boy of yours won't have the ladies won over for long if he keeps acting like a brat." He said.
Gabriel noticed Adrien's stare at the two, the look of being miserable on his face. He thought about the words the photographer was saying and it begun to anger him. "I will not tolerate this behavior towards me and my son." He said.
"You're the boy's father, you try and tell him to not- "
"Not what?" Gabriel glared. "Adrien has done nothing wrong. In all of the reports I've been receiving from my staff, you've been making the last two hours hell for everyone working with my son." He snatched the camera from the photographers hands and located the memory card. "I will be taking this. You will not be working with my company again and you will receive no pay for this disaster." He said while taking out the memory card. "I will be keeping this so you won't exploit my son."
The photographer was outraged, but he noticed Adrien's glare when he turned away from Gabriel. He was defeated due to his harsh actions. "Fine. I'm sorry, and I accept the revoke of my pay for this photoshoot. I should have refuse the offer to work with this company in the first place."
"Maybe you should have. Please leave the premises now or I will have my security escort you out." Gabriel demanded.
The photographer agreed to walk out peacefully and exited the room.
Gabriel looked towards Adrien, who was shocked to see his father actually firing someone so quickly. He cleared his throat before speaking. "I'm sorry for that mistake, Adrien. I hope his words didn't harm you."
"No, not at all." Adrien shook his head. "I normally hate people like that. If I'm such a great model for you, then why hire someone who thought the opposite?"
"He just wanted money." Gabriel guessed. "But I am truly sorry for what happened." He apologized, then looked up at the crew. "Everyone is free to go home. Your pay wil be deposited shortly along with your holiday bonus. I'm sorry for that man's behavior and It will never happen again. Merry Christmas, everyone." While everyone sounded excited about leaving to go back to their families soon, Gabriel looked down at his son. "Natalie is waiting in the car to take you shopping for Miss Marinette. I have deposited as much as you need to buy the present from the store. I do not have any of the gift you are looking for here, so I hope you can purchase it shortly."
Adrien looked up at his father and smiled. "Thanks, father. I'm sure Marinette will love the one of a kind sewing box. I'll try not to stay out to late!"
The ride to the only fabric store he knew Marinette goes to all of the time seems to take longer than expected for him. Even though being out early from work, he was lucky to be able to make it to the store in time. He tried his best to give directions as well from the back seat. After 20 minutes of driving, he made it to Marinette's favorite store.
But there was 10 minutes until closing.
Without waiting for his bodyguard to open the door for him, Adrien jumped out of the car and ran to the window to see if the lights were still on. Fortunately, they were still on. He found the store owner putting away bolts of fabric back on to the shelf, a cart next to him. Not too far from the owner was the display for the Agreste sewing box. With a smile, Adrien walked to the door and opened it, the bell alarming the owner.
"May I help you? We are closing very soon for the holiday." Said the owner.
"Yeah, um. I would like to buy one of the sewing boxes from Agreste." Adrien said proudly.
The owner didn't look pleased. "I know who you are. You're Adrien Agreste, every teenage girl's favorite model."
"Well, yes I am- "
"Couldn't you have gotten the box for free from your father?" said the owner. "It's from your company, so your father should have some to spare."
"First off, I don't own the company, I just work for my father." Adrien said calmly. "Second, he said they sold out in the office and had given them all away as gifts to the tailors and seamstresses. And lastly, this is for my best friend, Marinette. Her designs are amazing and she wishes to be a designer one day." He smiled a bit, remembering the designs Marinette drew all year long in her sketch book. "Maybe you've met her." He added. "This is her all-time favorite store to buy fabric and materials from. She has blue ponytails, big blue eyes."
"Oh, Miss Marinette!" the owner smiled at the name. "Yes, she is one of my favorite customers here in the store. She often helps the customers pick out fabrics for their projects, help me organize the shelves of patterns. I wish I could repay her for the help."
"Well, she'll be lucky to get her hands on a sewing box from my father's company." He suggested. He held up his card and smiled. "Please help me give this gift to Marinette. I'll pay you anything just to have one for her."
The owner looked at the blonde and nodded. "Alright. You can have the last one on display. You will pay the full price, nothing more unless you are purchasing something else."
"The box is all I wanted, sir." Adrien smiled. He watched the owner pick up the box on display and set it on the counter.
Adrien picked out the gift box to put it in and happily paid for it. He thanked the owner and happily walked out of the store.
