Ice gulped as he went up to the school door. His teacher, Mrs. April, had guided him through the school and was leading him to the classroom. He almost remembered every detail of the place. He met his class, which had a few kids that were a little younger than him, and was welcomed greatly. One kid seemed to stand out to Ice as they went through the day.
He never gave a name, but he looked like the youngest of the bunch. Ice thought it was his good friend Midnight, but it was hard to talk to him being the 'new kid' and the kid always avoiding people. He finally caught him at the Pledge Stone.
"Hey!" The kid turned slightly to see him. He lowered his head to avoid him. Ice huffed gently as he stopped by him. "I don't think we've-"
"We have."
That made Ice look up. He studied the kid for a moment. Maybe the uniform was throwing him off. Or his poor memory after what happened was getting to him. It was just rare to see this guy act so... much older. He never got a good look at him anyways.
He had the normal uniform on and was up to Ice's shoulders. His brown, gravity-defiant hair loosely swayed behind his head as his brown eyes looked up at the stone. A pair of goggles rested on his head as he adjusted the gloves on his hands. He looked like a whole new person.
Ice shook it off as he gulped.
"Well... I don't remember exactly... So... can we-"
"Redo?"
What was he, a mind reader? Then again, if this was Midnight, the kid was always ready for anything. Not much for greetings, but he would always prevail. Ice straightened up and sighed.
"My name is-"
"I know who."
One of these days he was going to get a sentence through. But it answered his mental question. He hummed.
"Midnight...?" The smaller boy finally looked at him and smiled.
"Hey Ice." The taller male smiled as they hugged.
"Why didn't you say anything before?" Midnight pulled away with a sigh.
"Because I didn't want to be awkward... Everyone knows me for alone, helpless, solo... seeing me with you would make it uncomfortable and weird..." Ice hummed as he looked into his eyes.
"Then don't worry about that! Let's work together through this year! I have to catch back up and you have to find your place. C'mon!" He grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the school as the bell rang. Midnight yelped lightly as he tried to pull out of the taller boy's grasps.

Ice had to admit it. Being with Midnight made it a little less stressful. The duo were like twins as they got through each day. The only thing that made it say otherwise was the number of times Ice pushed Midnight into a door frame. He growled.
"Dude!" Ice chuckled.
"I remember the first time you hit the door frame, you gave it a kiss." Midnight's face went red. It was unclear if it was out of rage or embarrassment but it was cute. "Aw... don't be like that. It was hilarious. At least no one can truly embarrass you when they ask you about your first kiss because you can then ask the all important stupid question."
"Does door frame count?"
"Exactly! And if they say no, then you can say you haven't kissed anyone. Simple as that." Midnight hummed.
"What 'bout you? You kissed any?" Ice's face warmed up as he looked away and thought about it. He did... but he had to get around Midnight.
"None that I can think of... c'mon." Midnight hummed as they got to class. He paused.
"Technically... we both have kissed one." Ice paused as Midnight went to his seat. He paused before knowing what he meant and sat down.
