Matt
"It's about time." Shiro said, smiling wearily at Katie's brother. Matt smiled back.
"It took me forever to get in - when I thought about her, it... It opened." Hunk frowned as he saw how Matt choked on his words when he got to talking about his sister.
"Interesting. Well, we have a plan to bring her back." Lance said, gesturing towards a stasis pod at the edge of the cockpit. "She won't decay in there - in fact, her body will be healed to the point that it will seem like she just died." Matt squirmed uncomfortably, and Lance almost smiled. Almost.
"So, whats the plan?" Hunk asked quietly.
"We break Haggar out of prison." Shiro recapped, waiting for Matt's reaction.
"What?! Why?!"
"Because she's the only one who can bring your sister back, and her execution is in a few hours. By the time we reach the prison and ask for a brief release, she would be dead." Keith explained.
"So we're going to break the thing that helped kill my sister out of prison?" Matt reviewed, his voice calm despite his fury. He knew that if Shiro and the others believed it was a good idea, it probably was.
"Yes." Shiro said darkly. He sighed and pulled Matt into an embrace. Shiro had grown over the past few months, so hugging Matt reminded him of the few times he hugged Pidge.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Matt asked hollowly, the emptiness in his voice only noticed by Shiro. He had only heard that voice once before in his life.
"I'll miss her, Shiro. Do you think she'll miss me?" Matt asked, grasping the cloth of the spacesuit so hard that his knuckles had transitioned from a pale peach to a ghastly white. Shiro smiled at his friend reassuringly.
"Of course she'll miss you." Shiro answered. "I would miss you, and I've only known you for a few months. She's known you all her life." Matt smiled briefly before his face fell.
"What if I forget what she looks like, or the sound of her voice?" Matt asked, his voice emptier than it had ever been before. Shiro almost jumped out of his seat after hearing his friend's voice.
"She won't let you." He answered after a moment. Despite the vague answer, Matt managed to smile again.
Shiro shook his head, pulling himself out of the memory. Stuff like that still came back to him occasionally, small details of his life that he had forgotten about completely. For instance, he had forgotten the name of the headmaster at the Garrison. He'd also forgotten about the existence of the headmaster at the Garrison.
"I think we're waiting for the lion." Lance answered after a moment of silence.
"Please go, lion." Hunk asked sincerely, and the green lion growled, looked towards the sky, and zoomed towards a newly opened worm hole.
