Away From Home

I had a lot of fun writing the first part, so now I'm writing this one before I even publish the other one.

-

"Where are you going?!" I heard my father yell from behind me. I quickly opened the door, flying off before anyone could follow.

I felt myself begin to cry thinking of what had happened. I just came out to my brother on my wedding day with someone I didn't love. I felt myself getting weaker, feeling as the wind started to pick up. I started loosing control, falling towards the ground. I heard a small crack as I hit the ground, feeling my wing snap.

-

"Is that Prince Smajor? Why is he laying here?" I heard a small voice mumble from behind me, opening my eyes to find someone above me.

I jumped back in fear, sitting up quickly.

"Are you okay? You've been blacked out here for a while." Said an oddly familiar voice.

I looked around, realizing it was pitch back outside. I didn't remember anything at the time. Where is was, why I was there, anything that happened at the palace.

"Shouldn't you be at the palace? Weren't you getting married today?" The color drained from my face. The palace, the wedding, everything came back to me. Tears welled up in my eyes, not wanting to break down infront of this stranger. I stood up quickly, wanting to make my way home before realizing I had no clue where I was.

"Your wing! What happened?" I ignored them, trying to see which way I came from.

There was no indication of home from here, I must've been miles away from the palace at this point.

"How're you gonna get home?" I turned back around, studying the person in front of me. Blonde hair, brown eyes. He was wearing a tan shirt, green cape with some sort grid pattern on it, brown pants, and black boots covered in slime.

"You're in the Cod Empire. I'm Prince Solidarity " He bowed.

"Good evening, Prince Solidarity. Do you know which way Rivendell is?" I asked, bowing in return.

"Yes! If you fly that direction for about 10 minutes you should make it to the palace!" He smiled, pointing towards the palace.

"Ah, I should probably get going then. Thank you for your help." I said formally, turning towards the way he was pointing earlier.

"What about your wing? You won't be able to get home like that!" He was worried about me. Why? I have no clue.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get there by morning." I huffed, knowing I would be sore the next day.

"Wait! I can fix your wing! One second!" He scrambled off into a small home, coming back minutes later.

"Here! Let me bandage it!" He was running back with a few healing potions and some bandages.

He splashed the healing potions onto my wing, bandaging it up seconds later.

"There! Now you should be able to fly home safely!" He said with a smile on his face.

"Thank you once more, Solidarity. If there is anything I can ever do to repay you, please inform me." I said, smiling back at him as I flew off.

-

I decided not to go straight home. I know I should've, and everyone was probably looking for me, but I couldn't bring myself to go home yet.

I found a large tree about 5 minutes away from the palace and decided to sit there. It was almost sunrise already, so I wouldn't be waiting long.

-

As I watched the sun rise, I couldn't help but think of the boy I met earlier. He was so nice, and really pretty. I wish I could marry him instead.

I saw Xornoth come running out of the palace just as I was going to go back. Was he up to something? Was he looking for me? I decided to go over to him just in case.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked, watching him from afar as I made my way back to the path.

"Scott! Oh my god! There you are!" He was out of breath, panting.

"At this point I wish I stayed at The Cod Empire." I mumbled to myself.

"The Cod Empire?! Are you friends with the enemy?!" I chuckled, soon realizing he wasn't joking.

"Whatever, let's just go inside." I said, turning back towards the palace.

"Woah woah! What happened to your wing? Are you alright? Did someone hurt you?" Panic in his voice, walking Infront of me.

"Jeez you're so overprotective." I said, brushing it off as nothing.

"Are you going to answer the questions or??" I ignored him, not wanting to tell him what all had happened hours before.

-

As we made our way to the palace, I saw our parents faces light up.

"There you are! Where have you been? Are you okay?" My mother said as she grabbed my face.

I chuckled in response, pushing her hands away and making my way back to my room.

As I opened the door, I saw something waiting for me.

"Dear Scott, I am sorry for the way I reacted when you came out to me. I was worried about how the wedding would play off, and overreacted. I talked to our parents and they both agreed to letting you choose who to marry. I hope this makes you happier.

Sincerely, Xornoth"

I smiled at the note, feeling grateful I had an accepting brother.

I walked into the bathroom, seeing just how shitty I looked. My wing was still clearly broken, my outfit was muddy and gross, my hair was tangled, and I had bruises all over me from my fall.

"How hard did I hit the ground?" I asked myself, shrugging if off soon enough. I quickly got into the shower, realizing just now how much my wing hurt.

"It'll probably take some time to heal, I'll replace the bandages in a bit." I mumbled.

-

"Scott! Can I talk to you for a minute?" I heard Xornoth ask from my door.

"Sure! Come in." I responded, putting away the letter I was writing.

"So, what actually happened while you were gone?" He asked, sitting down on my bed.

"Well, I was flying for a while until the wind started picking up. And I was starting to get tired, and felt super weak, looking back on it I probably should've just went to The Crystal Cliffs instead." I said, fidgeting with my hands.

Xornoth gave an invested look back at me, telling me to keep going.

"But I had ended up crashing at The Cod Empire. And the fall may have broken my wing." I said harshly, preparing myself for the worst.

"Oh? And then what happened?" He asked with a confused-shocked look on his face.

"I ended up blacking out, and when I woke up I was in someone's arms under a tree." I chuckled at the last part.

"He introduced himself as Prince Solidarity and healed my wing so I could get home. Super nice guy honestly." I said, not thinking much of it.

"The prince?! That's our enemy, Scott!" He yelled, I still didn't think much of it.

"Yeah, yeah, I really don't get why he's our enemy. He's super nice!" I said, turning back towards my desk.

"The mutual enemies agreement, you broke it, Scott! Do you know how much danger that could put us in?!" I chuckled in response, something that Xornoth didn't appreciate very much.

"This is serious! Our whole empire could be destroyed! You shouldn't be king, you can't even be responsible with your actions!" I felt my heart shatter when he said that.

-

After a while of fighting, he finally calmed down and left my room. But the damage was already done at this point. He treats me like a child.

I decided to write to The Cod Empire, asking what they would like for helping me.

"Dear, Solidarity

Good evening, prince. I wanted to reach out to know what you'd like for payment in helping me. This can be anything you would like or need of ours.

Sincerely, Smajor Of Rivendell."

I handed the note to an owl, watching at it flew off towards The Cod Empire.
