Difference Between Writing Style and Bad Writing
When you're a writer, you automatically have your own, personal, writing style. It may be similar to another's writing style, but it's just yours.
Writing style refers to the manner in which an author chooses to write to his or her readers. A style reveals both the writer's personality and voice, but it also shows how he or she perceives the audience. The choice of a conceptual writing style molds the overall character of the work.

WattPad is mostly made up of creative writing like stories and poetry -- y'know, things that are creative. This is where the writing style usually comes into play. There's a certain way that you like to express your thoughts and that's that.
As an example, let's take a look at Rick Riordan's writing style in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. If you haven't read them, you don't have to, but it's popular so I thought it'd be good. Rick doesn't use overly complicated words and he describes the monsters and scenery quickly and efficiently -- it's very simplistic and easy to understand. It's not just this particular series; it can also be found in his Kane Chronicles, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, and the Heroes of Olympus series. We can qualify that as his writing style.
But let's compare that to Christopher Paolini's (author of the Inheritance Cycle) writing style. He's very verbose when describing things like the scenery and the people and the places and the dragons while using lots of complicated language like metaphors and similes and dare I call it poetic. He writes like this: well there's this boat in the background that isn't very important so I'll only take half a page to describe it this time. That's an exaggeration, of course, but you see what I mean.
These two are very different but very good based on my own bias of absolutely loving both of those authors and series. I would read Rick's books when I just casually feel like reading something funny and then I'd read Chris's when I want to really get into the medieval times and feel like fighting Dragon Riders (ah, such sweet memories). But the point of that was that those are just their writing styles. Keep in mind that's not all there is. If you're writing something suspenseful, you might use a lot more short and choppy sentences to lead up to the climax of the scene.
Of course, that's only one aspect of writings style and the next part more feels like which type of thing you're writing (expository/narrative/descriptive/persuasive -- more info on that here: http://study.com/academy/lesson/what-is-writing-style-types-examples-quiz.html and I legitimately won't explain what those are because that website does a fantastic job at it), but for now, let's focus on creative/narrative writing.
If you tell me that your writing style is to use bad grammar, that's an impossibility. That's not okay in anything. Sentence fragments are okay in creative writing because you're getting your point across and it doesn't have to be in such a formal way. I don't like to use tons of fragments because they irk me to a certain degree but I know the author M. R. Carey does from his book The Girl With All The Gifts (an amazing book by the way but its ending is kinda quick). It's creative writing. You're an artist! So be creative and do art! But only do that when telling a story because it's not going to be acceptable when you're writing essays (trust me).
But bad grammar isn't a writing style.
Bad plot isn't a writing style.
Bad characters aren't a writing style.
Christopher Paolini may describe that boat in immense detail while I may just say, ". . . There was a massive boat waiting for us on the dock. . . . " and that's okay because he has his way of doing things and I have my way. I tend to focus more on my characters than my plot because I juts happen to love people but you can focus on your plot a lot more. You have to have an equal balance of both though so the story doesn't fall apart; you may have awesome characters but what's the point if you don't have a good plot to use them in.
Things like sentence structure are fluid in creative writing and so are things like formatting (I don't mean that it's okay to not make a new paragraph each time a new person speaks, but your paragraphs don't all have to have 5-8 sentences).
I don't think I've explained this well enough, but if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, put them in the actual comments section or PM me -- whatever you prefer.
