Friday i was supposed to update - Black Friday Shopping all day

Yesterday - I got grounded last minute... for something I didn't do

GARROTH'S POV

"What's going on?" Laurence's grip tightened on my arm.

I winced, "Nothing, just (E/C) and I are worried about... the twins. Yeah. She's just nervous about the next two months."

Laurence's grip loosened a bit, but his facial expression stayed the same. "Garroth. I'm your best friend, and you're just going to lie to me like that? Come on, spill the beans."

I took a deep breath and sighed. I looked over his shoulder to see (E/C) looking over at me. I nodded and she turned back to Aphmau. I focused on Laurence.

"It's actually not a big deal. My father died, that's all. I didn't like him, but he was still my father. The Shadow-Lord killed him for not paying his debt on time. It's okay though."

Laurence's hand dropped to his side. "Oh, but who's going to be the L-... Never mind. We'll discuss this with the girls. Let's go."

I nodded and slowly got up and slumped into the seat next to (E/C).

"Did you tell him the truth?" (E/C) whispered to me. I nodded.

"I told Aphmau everything..." (E/C) whispered back.

I looked over at Aphmau. She was looking down, but her hand was firmly in Laurence's.

"So..." Laurence said.

"So..." I repeated.

"What are you guys going to do? I mean, Garroth, you have to choose between Phoenix Drop and Okasis." Aphmau had finally looked up. She looked as if she was going to cry though.

"Aphmau, you know I would choose Phoenix Drop in a heartbeat. I just don't know if I can do it without causing a major problem. There always the possibility of letting Zane take over, but I don't know if I trust him right now. I think he's fine, but I don't know if he'll stay that way. We already know that he knows that he was once evil. He may always go back to that and turn the biggest army force against us."

"That might be a chance you have to take though. I don't want to lose you Garroth."

YOUR POV

"I may have a solution..." I spoke up.

Everyone turned to look at me. I knew they were willing to try anything.

"I think we should trust Zane. He IS Garroth's brother, and is going to be my brother-in-law. Now, traditionally, that's not the way it would work, Garroth would take the Lord's position. But I trust Zane, plus, he has nothing in Phoenix Drop, and Okasis is his homeland. The only reason he ran away was because of their father. Now that he's dead, there is no reason he shouldn't go back.

Also, another thought. Garroth and I will be SUPER busy with the twin, so, if you guys are up to the idea... What if... What if Laurence and Garroth switch places, as guards I mean. I can still be a guard, and Garroth can be 2nd in command, Dante in 3rd, and Laurence in the head guard position. We can lay low, and being head guard is just going to draw attention to you. Plus, Laurence, you and Aphmau are closer than her and Garroth. I think it just makes sense that we do that. I know, Garroth, that's taking away from your pride and all, but, it's that, or Okasis."

They all stared at me. Slowly Garroth nodded.

"That's always a possibility... but-"

"But what? I think it's a great idea (E/C)!" Aphmau said in excitement. Her ears were twitching and her tail had a slight wag. She looked over at Laurence who's head was faced down. "Laurence?" She asked softly. She nudged him and he continued to look down.

Aphmau lifted his head by his chin with her hand. She softly placed her lips on his. They stayed like that for a couple minutes before Aphmau pulled away.

Laurence had a soft smile on his face and was looking over at Aphmau. "Thanks, Aphmau."

She gave him a sad smile before turning back to us. "(E/C), I would be up for the idea, it depends what the guys say. Garroth?"

"I think it would be the best for everyone. I mean, (E/C) and I have been super busy with the twins lately, and they're not even born yet! I guess I'm just overwhelmed. I think I could still be head guard once they're born, but if I wasn't head guard, then I would have a lower profile, meaning anyone looking for me, can't find me as easily."

I nodded. If Garroth continued to be head guard: A.) He wouldn't get to see the twins and I as much B.) There is always a possibility of people trying to find and hurt Garroth or our family.

"Laurence?" Aphmau softly asked.

He gave us all a sad smile. "I don't know. I was the head guard in Metalli at one point. I just feel bad stealing the spot from Garroth. Especially over my little niece and nephew."

Garroth smiled and playfully punched Laurence. "Nah, man! You should do it. I want you to do it. You and Aphmau can take care of the village together."

Laurence smiled, but still looked down at his hand that was placed in Aphmau's. "I know, but, how is this going to effect everything? I still get to be Uncle Laurence right?"

I smiled at him and gave him a big hug, clinking his armor. "Of course, Laurence! We wouldn't have it any other way! Just, one rule. You are NOT allowed to teach them how to change into their shadow-knight form, that is if they have one. We don't know the effects of me being a shadow-knight will be until they're born."

I released him from the hug and a smile was on his face.

Garroth looked behind me. "Oh! Let's go get Dante, Kawaii~Chan and Nekoette. We should get home."

I looked at the clock behind me and nodded. It was five. Sense it was getting late in the fall, the days were getting shorter and it was dark out at 7.

I grabbed Garroth's hand and pulled him over to the door. Laurence and Aphmau followed.

We walked over to the hospital where Dante and the two girls were outside, waiting for us. The guys went and got the horses while us ladies stayed and admired Nekoette~Tan in Kawaii~Chan's arms.

The guys came back with the horses and helped Kawaii~Chan and little Nekoette~Tan on. Garroth grabbed my horse and helped me up onto it. When I was on it, I smiled at him. I bent down and gave him a kiss on the cheek before he saddled his horse.

"Got it?" He said quietly. I nodded.

"I'm fine. Thank you Garroth."

"Kawaii~Chan," he shouted over to where Kawaii~Chan sat with Nekoette in her arms. "You ready for the paparazzi when we get home?"

She smiled. "I don't know Garroth~Kun."

I smiled. Donna and everyone else in the village didn't know that Kawaii~Chan had Nekoette. They just know that Dante had to leave suddenly so Dale was currently in charge.
