Lucinda's House (Part 2)
YOUR POV
I felt rage bubble up inside of me.
Keep it under control. Don't want to blast her head off like you almost did to Garroth.
She deserves it. She's hitting on your man, AFTER she knew you were pregnant with his twins and your engagement!
Still, that's no excuse to burn someone up...
"Umm, n-no. But when I saw h-how worried (Y/n) was, I knew something was wrong..."
HE STUTTERED! HE'S SUPPOSED TO ONLY STUTTER AT ME! Never mind the idea of blowing up Lucinda... BLOW THEM BOTH UP!!!
It's fine. He's just... clearing his throat. He doesn't like her or anything...
GARROTH'S POV
Lucinda and I were talking about (y/n)'s mystery fortune telling machine problem when Lucinda became quiet.
"Umm, Garroth, what's wrong with your fiancé?"
I turned to where (Y/n) was sitting. Her face would flash from her normal tan to a deep red, and then back again. "Umm, (y/n)? Oh shoot... we made her mad somehow... She's battling with her shadow side again." I waved a hand in front of her face, but she continued to stare at Lucinda.
"SHE'S A SHADOW KNIGHT?!?"
I sighed. "Yes, yet another thing we've tried to tell you. I think it'd be best if we left before she kills you."
Lucinda whimpered. "Kills me? IM NOT READY TO DIE! IM TOOO YOUNG!!!" She cried out.
I gently placed a hand on (y/n)'s shoulder trying to calm her down. She continued to stare straight at Lucinda, but her red wasn't as deep and dark as before. I placed a hand on her lower back and rubbed her back gently.
The red continued to fade until it was completely gone.
"Okay, it's okay Lucinda. She calmed down."
YOUR POV
"I calmed down? From what?"
Garroth looked at me in shock. "Do you remember what just happened?"
I frowned. "Does he somehow know about me battling with Shadow-(y/n) again? Or about how LUCINDA is practically throwing herself at him and I actually noticed?"
"Umm..."
Garroth sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"He's so cute." I thought.
"(Y/n), were you battling with Shadow-you again?"
"How did you know?"
"Your face was flashing red!" Lucinda piped in.
I glared at her. I took a deep breath so I wouldn't melt her face off.
"Okay... Garroth, we should leave."
Garroth nodded in agreement. "Thanks Lucinda, for everything!"
What else did she do for him?
"(Y/n), your face is turning red again... let's get going."
"I'll show you to the door." Lucinda said quickly.
We quickly got out of her house and on the front porch. I trailed behind Lucinda and Garroth by a pace or two. When we got out, Lucinda took Garroth's hands in her's and kissed him on the cheek.
THAT'S IT!
I ran past the two of them to the water's edge and pointed to the middle of the water.
I felt the heat on my hands, burning, searing the skin, but it didn't matter. It's not like I could stop it. The energy ball rushed from my hands to the middle of the little break in the ground, filled by water, where I had aimed it.
Searing hot water spewed onto the grass on the other side of the break. I watched as the grass turned from a brilliant green to a shriveled black. The rest of the water vaporized as soon as it hit the air.
I felt arms grab mine from behind.
"Ow! (Y/n)!" Garroth sighed. "It's just like last time. You're really hot."
"No, Garroth, I'm fine."
I took three deep breaths before turning to Garroth.
His eyes went wide for a split second. He walked to the water's edge."(Y/n), come here for a second."
I stepped over to him, and he splashed a little bit of water onto my bare legs. The water sizzled and popped against my skin.
"Now do you believe me?"
I sighed. "Yes... Can we please go now?"
Garroth looked over to the horrified Lucinda who was watching from her porch and nodded.
Garroth helped me up the hill as much as he could without me burning him. We crossed over the rainbow cloud bridge to the other side. As soon as I stepped onto the other side, I could hear sizzling again, but I wasn't by water.
I hesitantly lifted my foot to find fried grass under my feet.
"Great..." I mumbled.
As we walked towards the old guard station, people kept on giving me questionable glances. We almost made through the door to the guard station but we ran into Laurence.
"Hey Garroth, hey- WOAH. What happened? Your shadow side is like 75% of you instead of the 5% it usually is... Is it Shadow-(y/n) again?"
"Yes... but it's not just her..." I mumbled.
"GARROTH... WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR FIANCE? DID YOU BREAK HER?!?"
"Laurence! Chill! I think..." He grabbed the back of his neck nervously. "I think she was talking about Lucinda. She was NO help, at all. And then she kissed me-"
"She kissed you... IN FRONT OF YOUR FIANCE? COME ON MAN! Are you kidding me? Why in Irene would you-"
"Laurence, it was a kiss on the cheek. You know that's how Lucinda says good bye. It's like her custom."
I grew impatient and walked inside. The boys didn't notice me leaving. I grabbed onto the higher wooden ladder ring and placed my foot on the lower one.
"Woah!"
I fell to the ground on my back.
"Ow..." I winced.
"(Y/n)!" Laurence and Garroth came rushing in.
"Are you okay?" Garroth knelt down and placed my head on his lap. He stroked the bangs out of my face so I could see a little bit better.
"I'm fine." I growled. I sat up and immediately felt light headed. "Woah."
"(Y/n)!" He forced me to lay down again.
"Garroth..." I complained.
"(Y/n), don't even bother trying. Once Garroth goes into protective mode, there is NO way to get him out of it until he knows, that someone is safe." Laurence advised. Once Laurence looked over me a couple of times, he decided I was fine and climbed the ladder. He had to reach his leg of farther than usual to reach the rung above the missing ones. He pulled himself up and onto the next level.
"(Y/n), at Lucinda's, what were you arguing about with Shadow-(y/n)?"
I stared up into Garroth's blue eyes and sighed.
Should I tell him?
Is he going to laugh at me?
Is he going to deny liking Lucinda and then go have a secret relationship behind my back?
Stop it! Garroth isn't like that! He wouldn't do that... would he?
I mean... I don't know...
"(y/n), you can tell me anything... you know that right?"
I nodded and tried to sit up again. Still nauseous, I laid back down in Garroth's lap and realized there was no way around this. I curled up like a cat onto Garroth's lap.
"Garroth... Do you like Lucinda?" I mumbled into his chest.
"What?"
"Do you... like... Lucinda?" I sneered her name. That witch... (pun not intended)
Garroth looked down at me shocked. He started laughing and I curled into a even tighter ball.
"You," He started laughing again. "You thought I liked Lucinda? Ha! No way. I like Lucinda. As a friend, (y/n). Nothing more."
"Than why did you stutter with her. And side-hug her? That was my side hug!"
Garroth bent down and kissed the top of my head. "Okay, next time I won't side-hug her. Or anyone else. Only you get my side-hugs, okay?"
I nodded and buried my face deeper into his chest.
It just smelled so much like him. It was overwhelming.
I sighed and took a deep breath. I sat up again and this time I was okay. I crawled off Garroth's lap and he stood up. He helped me up and had to help me stand for a little bit. Garroth and I found our way around the missing ladder rungs and got to the second story.
Kawaii~Chan sat at the table with a little Nekoette in her arms.
"AWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!" I shrieked. I ran over to Kawaii~Chan and Nekoette and sat down next to them when I realized Nekoette was sleeping. "Can I hold her?!?!?" I whisper shouted.
Kawaii~Chan smiled and nodded. She rested the sleeping Nekoette into my arms. She was so light!
"She's so cute! I can't wait for the twins!"
Kawaii~Chan laughed but I could tell the tiredness in her voice. "Yes! Kawaii~Chan wants to hold them right after (Y/n)~Senpai and Garroth~Kun! Then again, Laurence~Kun will probably want to hold one of them... Laurence~Kun and Kawaii~Chan will take turns!"
I smiled. "Kawaii~Chan, are you okay? You look really tired."
Kawaii~Chan nodded. "Kawaii~Chan loves being Nekoette's mother, but it's tiring!"
I smiled again. "Would you like Garroth and I to watch her for you? We can get used to taking care of a little one. That way, we'll be prepared for at least half of them!"
She smiled at me again. "Kawaii~Chan would love that."
