Father's Rage

Before I start this chapter, I just want to say that MOST of this chapter will be in the view points of Zane and Garroth. Also, Sorry that i have't uploaded in forever. I HATE school! Also, Wattpad had an update, and I couldn't figure out how to publish my chapters.

ZANE'S POV

"Prince Zane, your father requests your presence."

"Tell him he can wait." I replied. Garroth had run away over a year ago. He had come back last week to have his fiancé meet father. A big mistake if I do say so myself.

I sighed. I had heard of what father tried to do to (E/C). It was a low thing to do, very low. I just wish I had the father I had when mother was alive.

I looked over to where the picture of our family was on my dresser.

I was going to take that with too. I grabbed the photo and stuffed it in the backpack on my bed.

Of course I didn't really remember her, my mum, but I remember how happy our family was with her.

There was a banging on my door. "ZANE RO'MEAVE! COME OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!"

"No thanks." I said.

The pounding became louder.

I looked down at my backpack. I had everything that I needed.

All that I needed to run away.

GARROTH'S POV

Now that (E/C) and I were all settled in, we had to figure everything out. The wedding was going to have to wait until after the twins were born. There was no way that (E/C) would be able to fit in a dress, unless the wedding happened tomorrow or the next day.

"Hmm..." I said out loud. (E/C)'s head turned and she looked at me.

"What's 'hmm'?"

"Well, you and Kawaii~Chan would be able to fit in wedding dresses if we did the wedding tomorrow or the day after that..."

"Umm, maybe. We would have to get custom dresses, but we would still look fine... but there is no way we could pull it off, Garroth. By the way, can you stop sometime today by Aphmau's house? I think I forgot some clothes in the room downstairs."

"Sure, I'll stop by later. And hey, we can at least try! I'll go get Kawaii~Chan and Dante and tell them our idea..."

"Garroth! Don't! It's 4 in the morning. I may be up with morning sickness, but they aren't going to be up at 4 in the morning! Anyway, there's no way we can pull it off..."

I shook my head, "Dante said that Kawaii~Chan has been getting up really early. I think that we could. I'll peek in their room and I won't bug them if they're... yawn... asleep."

"I don't ..." (E/C) was cut off by having to run to the bathroom.

"Okay. I'm going to go see them now."

She was still bending over the toilet, and gave no response. I nodded weirdly and headed over to Kawaii~Chan's and Dante's room.

I knocked lightly.

No response.

I knocked a little louder. I heard a click and the door opened. Kawaii~Chan stood there, rubbing her eyes.

"Oh! Kawaii~Chan! I'm so sorry if I woke you up!"

"No, Garroth~Kun, you didn't wake me up. It's absolutely..." She ran over to the bathroom.

I just nodded and entered the room. Dante was on the bed, twisted up in the sheets and the blanket.

"Hey Dante."

"Garroth?! What are you doing here? It's 4 in the morning!" he immediately sat up.

Kawaii~Chan came back and was wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

"Why ARE you here Garroth~Kun? Is (E/C)~Senpai okay?"

"Huh? Oh! Yeah, she's fine. I just had a thought. You know how we wanted to have the wedding before the babies were born?"

"Uh, yeah..."

"Well, we were thinking that we could have the wedding tomorrow or the next day. I mean, it doesn't leave much time for planning but..."

Kawaii~Chan shook her head. "Even if we COULD pull it off, (E/C) and I couldn't fit into custom made dresses. Our bellies are too big! Anyway, there's no way we can plan a wedding in one day..."

I nodded, "That's what (E/C) thought. Anyway, it was just an idea."

"I wish there was some way we could do that..."

"Guess not... Well, see you guys later than."

ZANE'S POV

The pounding continued.

"Father, it's 4:30 in the morning. I want to sleep..." of course I was lying, but oh well.

"NO! COME HERE RIGHT NOW!"

I just ignored him after that.

Garroth had left some tools in his room. I had taken them after he left with (E/C). I needed to break out of this prison. Of course it was a luxurious prison, but still prison.

I knew where he had left his stache and yesterday I had gone and taken all the tools. I also found some iron armor in his closet. I was wearing that too.

I looked in the mirror. I just looked like myself with armor on. "Everyone is going to recognize me... I guess that's what I get for being high priest..."

I searched through my chests until I found some dye that was left over from some project.

"I would look interesting with green or blue hair..." I thought as I held the colors up to my hair.

"I guess I'll go with blue. I know Dante has blue hair. I don't know anyone with green hair though..."

I quickly dyed my hair. I looked in the mirror.

"Well, I defiantly look different..."

I pulled my helm over my now blue hair. I put all the equipment away, so father wouldn't know I dyed my hair. I mined a hole next to my window and looked through it. It was a long way down.

Luckily, I had planned for that. I took out the ladders I had made earlier and started placing them down the side of the castle.

There was no security on my side of the castle. I had told the guards some far-fetched tale about having to drink a serum. I had snuck a sleeping potion into it. So they were all passed out.

I climbed down the ladder and jumped to the ground.

I looked around into the empty streets. A few street lights dimly lit the roads and no guards were on patrol. I snuck down the empty streets and over to a secret part of the wall. I had a lever and placed it down. It sent a redstone signal to the pistons I had set up.

It wasn't that great of a contraption, just something simple enough to get me out with anyone noticing. The pistons moved the small part of the Okasis wall that was in front of me, away. I walked through the hole. I turned around and shut the panel that was in the wall. It closed with a thump.

I looked out into the dark forest that was ahead of me. I didn't want t admit it, but I was scared. Scared out of mind. I couldn't even admit it to myself. I took a deep breath and stepped forward.

There was no turning back now.

GARROTH'S POV

"Hey, Dante! Sorry about that earlier, I was just really tired, and I didn't know what I was saying."

He gave me a playful punch, my armor clinking when it made contact.

"No problem, I know you want this to just be done and over with just as much as me. I understand. Kawaii~Chan know too. As soon as you left she told me exactly what you just told me."

I laughed. They were so happy together, I was happy for them. (E/C) was tired this morning from getting up early and was staying in bed for the day. Dante had mentioned that Kawaii~Chan was feeling sick this morning also.

I felt a cold hand slide across my shoulder and wrap around my neck. Laurence stood between Dante and I and had a stupid grin on his face.

"Hey, guys!"

"Hey! What'cha all happy about?" I gave him a grin.

"I asked Aph on a date and we're going to Metalli this evening. I'm planning something along the lines of a romantic dinner for two, or just walking through town, holding hands. Being the stupid teens we are!"

"Aphmau's not a teen Laurence, she's two years older than us." We never really talked about age in the village. It's just, everyone got along with everyone.

"Yeah, well she acts like one. Anyways, I'm taken my two best buds out next month for my birthday." He hooked his arm around mine and Dante's head and gave us noogies.

"Hey! Kawaii~Chan finally got me to brush my hair this morning... She's not going to be happy!" I gave him a smile as all three of us continued down the road towards the plaza.

For once, the plaza was empty, which was surprising. Normally Logan is here, most of the time Donna's with him.

"I think Logan went to Scaleswind t pick up some more supplies, Donna went with him." Dante explained.

I looked over at him and Laurence, who still had a stupid smile on his face.

"So, tonight are you two making it official? I mean you and Aph. This isn't the first time you hung out... alone.... with no supervision..."

Laurence laughed. "I'm a big boy, Garroth. And Aphmau is a big girl. We'll be fine."

"Leave the door open!" Dante teased lightly.

Laurence laughed again. "You two are cruel! I'm not the one with a pregnant fiancé here!"

We kept on walking until we found ourselves in front of Aphmau's house.

"Why are we here?"

"I don't know to tell you the truth... I guess I wanted to check on Levin and Zoey."

"Sure, I guess."

Dante stayed outside to patrol like all three of us were supposed to be doing. We headed inside and Laurence went immediately upstairs.

I looked around and saw one of Aphmau's dogs, Thorgi, sitting in the kitchen. He looked kind of alone so I went over to him and pet him. He stayed sitting where he was but he was wagging his tail.

I sat down and he jumped on to my lap. I pushed him off lightly saying, "I don't think you're the size for a lap dog, Thorgi."

I decided to just wait for Laurence to finish checking on Levin when I remembered (E/C)'s clothes downstairs. I slowly walked downstairs, cautious of waking Zoey if she was still asleep.

I heard her in her room playing with bottles and potions. I smiled to myself. She was really good at that kind of stuff. I opened the door to the extra room and stepped inside. The chest that (E/C) had described was sitting to my left. I quickly went through all the drawers until I found her clothes.

I quickly gathered her clothes and started up the stairs when I heard Levin's little screech coming from Zoey's room. I set (E/C)'s clothes down on a counter and walked over to the door and knocked.

The door opened a few seconds later and a cheerful Zoey answered the door.

"Oh! Garroth? What are you doing here?"

"I came to pick up some of (E/C)'s clothes and I heard Levin. I wanted to make sure he was okay." I decided to leave out the part that Laurence was supposed to be checking on Levin upstairs. He still hadn't come down from there as far as I knew.

"Huh? Oh! Yes! He's playing with Malachi!"

"Malachi?"

"Aphmau's other son."

"Really? When did she adopt him?"

"When she went on that trip last month with Laurence. I guess you never heard about him sense you've been so busy with yours and (E/C)'s children. I can't wait to watch three more little ones!"

I smiled. Her energy was contagious. "Well, if you don't mind, can I meet Malachi?"

Her smile faded a little. "Oh! Sorry! I forgot to invite you in! Come on in."

I stepped through the door to find Levin sitting on the bed playing with a... a ghost?

Zoey seemed to read my mind. "Malachi is over 900 years old. He's a ghost and Laurence and Aphmau adopted him when they found him alone in a castle."

I didn't mean to, but my jaw dropped when she told me his age.

I walked over to Levin.

"Hey, little man!"

"Gar-gar!" I laughed. Levin had given me a little nickname about a month before I met (E/C).

I picked him up and plopped him back down on the bed. He giggled uncontrollably.

I tickled him for a little bit, before I turned towards the ghost figure who was staring at me.

"You must me Malachi." I stuck my hand out and then I realized how stupid it was. "Oh, sorry."

The boy returned my insult with a smile. "It's okay. I've gotten used to it. You must be Garroth, Mom's head guard. Nice to meet you!" I kind of stared at him, not meaning to be rude.

"Uh, nice to meet you to. So, if you don't mind me asking, how did you... you know... become a ghost?"

The grin on his face twisted into a sad smile. "I have magiks. One's that I couldn't always control. My parents locked me in a castle with a man who was supposed to teach me how to control them. One day, he got so frustrated, he accidently pushed my off a balcony.

My parents never came back for me. Eventually, I figured they had just died, so I moved my castle from place to place.

Mom and Laurence were running from some werewolves and hid in my castle. I was lonely, and was excited I had new toys to play with..."

"Toys?" I interrupted him.

He nodded. "My magiks is to show someone their greatest fear. I showed Laurence his and Mom hers. Laurence had a pretty funny fear, so I showed it to Mom. He was afraid of losing her. And of course everyone in Phoenix Drop, but mostly her. After I showed her, I could feel the difference in her feelings towards Laurence. I knew that she loved him, but after I showed her that, she loved him even more.

Somehow, they forgave me for what I did and took me home with them. Of course there was a long process of an actually getting me out of the castle, but it was all worth it in the end."

"Wow." I replied stupidly.

"Yeah..."

"Gar-gar?" I snapped out of my little fantasy world I was in when I heard Levin.

I stood up. "It was great to meet you Malachi, but I really should be going. Bye Zoey, bye Levin!" he gave me a fist bump before I left the room, grabbed (E/C)'s clothes and went upstairs.

"What is going on upstairs?" I thought. It had almost been two hours. I headed up the stairs and when I got halfway, I stopped. Laurence was sneaking out of Aphmau's room as if he had something to hide.

"What were you in there for?" I asked, trying not to sound nosey. "We came here like two hours ago. What took you so long?"

"Agh! Oh! Umm... Garroth! Hey!" Laurence spun around at the sound of my voice.

I went up another step. "You didn't answer my question."

"Uhh..." His cheeks flushed red. "I was... uhh... playing with Levin... and Aph..."

"Why was he in there?"

"Because... Aph wanted a day to spend with Levin all by herself. I was just playing cars and trains with them."

"Really? Because, I know for a fact, that Zoey is downstairs, in her bedroom with Levin and Malachi. And, I know you only call her Aph when you're being lazy or you're trying to hide something. Spill the beans Laurence."

He blushed even harder. "Crud... I was so close...."

I stepped closer to him and he backed up a little.

"Come on Laurence..."

"Well, uhh, first, I told her about what we found in the woods. I was supposed to do it when (E/C) and I played that little stunt on you. I walked into her room and she was sitting on her bed reading. I mentioned stopping by to see Levin. We started talking about Levin. Then she brought up how well Malachi was doing, and things got emotional for her... she was so close and she was crying so I gave her a hug. She looked into my eyes and held my gaze..."

"Laurence, get to the point before I barf from the detail. You're a guard. Not an author."

"Huh? Oh! Right. Well, she was close, she felt emotional, she gave me a hug and kissed me. Well... we, uhh, got a little carried away while we were making out, and I lost track of time, so..."

"Uh huh. I see. So did you ask her about..." I was cut off by the sound of the doorbell. Laurence gave me a questioning look and I went and opened the door.

A blue haired guy stood at the door with a backpack slung around his shoulder. When I finally realized who it was, I gasped.

There stood my brother, Zane.
