Chapter 2:
"This way Falconpaw." She said as her tail laid on his shoulder. They walked on the border of WindClan towards the old mousers barn. Loners tended to live there, so she was hoping that they would know something. "What rank do you think I'll have in the clan?" The golden brown tom excitedly asked as they approached the twoleg barn.
"I was think you'd make a great medicine cat. You've been with Cloudspots for so long that I'd think it'd be a great rank for you." Snowdapple said as she felt her brother tense. The tom opened his mouth when a cat yelled. "Hey Intruder get off me turf! This is my barn!"
Snowdapple tensed as she watched a dark grey elderly tom hiss and arch his back. "We are not here to harm you. We're just looking for a place to stay till Newleaf." She said as the dark grey tom growled. "Not ye chance! You clan cats can go home! This is Boomi barn and no stray or clan cat is welcome. So scram go back to ye forest." He said raising a paw to strike.
"Boomi! Back off they clearly mean no harm." A light brown tom said as he raced over. "Sides clan cats have always been kind to us." The dark grey tabby took a step back arguing. "They'll eat all me mice Hector. I don't ye to be hungry." Snowdapple looked closer and noticed the tom had a broken jaw. How is he able to eat? That cat looks really thin. "No worries Boomi the she-cat said she'd leave in spring. That's only a few moons away." He said as he looked at Snowdapple and Falconpaw. "They can hunt for us until then."
Snowdapple nodded as she sighed. "Ye youngsters stay away from me bedding then. And don't let me catch ye sniff me catmint either." Boomi grumbled as he disappeared into a pile of dried grass. "Thank you Hector." She said the sound of his name sounded weird on her tongue. "We are traveling to find new territory. Do you know where your source of water is?" She asked as she kept looking at the jaw. Was he born like that, or was there a accident? How does he catch his prey? Could he teach Falconpaw how to be a warrior?
"Yeah there is a river behind the cow barn. But why ask don't you clan cats have your own territory?" He questioned as he flicked his ears in annoyance. "My brother was banished from our clan, due to a---." Falconpaw interrupted Snowdapple as he glared. "We don't need to tell other cats my disabilities. I'm blind and useless that's it." He turned towards a pile of dried grass and laid down. Snowdapple looked at him with guilt was it because she suggested he be a medicine cat?
"Oh well! I'm- - uh sorry for asking I'll show you all the best hunting areas. Then after spring comes we'll show you where the river lies." Hector offered his tail twitched with embarrassment. Snowdapple sighed as looked down at her paws. How was she supposed to be a good leader when she can't make her own kin happy? Maybe that StarClan cat was wrong.
"So why do you want to find new territory?" Hector asked as he sniffed the area. The moon started to rise above the WindClan moors chasing away the sun and sky. "I want to create a clan, so my brother can feel useful, and not discriminated against. Every cat should have there chance to be something."
Her eyes looked at the now setting sky. There would be no other clan either, so that Snowdapple wouldn't worry about battles and injuries that related over stupid arguments. A bird flew over the giant field as she looked at the clouds being chased away by the night sky. "That sounds like a good idea, but how is a blind cat supposed to fight off a seeing cat." Hector interrupted Snowdapple thoughts as her ears flattened.
"I'll find a way! It can't be that hard, and sides there are more roles in the clan then being a warrior." Snowdapple snapped as she glared at the crooked jawed tom. His words did strike a realization. How will I teach a blind warrior?
Thoughts so far:
Boomi is best kitty! He's my favorite written out character. I'd die for him.
