OVA Episode 6: Pumpkin Head

Unknown Pov
I grabbed a cleaver from the outstretched hand and smiled. "So you worked for Kevin eh? Who was apparently the Devil?"

The masked person nodded. "Yup. I provided information to him under orders from the White Witch. She wanted a powerful ally on her side so she told me to get information from all of the students and teachers in my school and give them to him."

"And how was that Tom boy involved?"

"He became aware of what I was doing. He threatened to tell if I didn't share what I'd found with him."

"And did you?"

"I told him that I could provide occasional info to him if he swore to never tell. The White Witch hates failure. She would have likely punished me."

"I'm surprised you let yourself get caught. You're so unnoticeable. I bet you faded into the background wonderfully. Like an extra in a movie."

"Tom kept trying to be my friend. But he didn't deserve to be my friend. He only noticed me when I was popular. Not when I was just plain old me. He's a nosy oblivious idiot like everyone else."

"Sounds like it. Now then....if you hate him so much, let's kill him."

"But the White Witch said only to act on her orders. Wh-".

"Tell her you're taking care of a loose end. I bet she hates loose ends."

"She does...but..".

"Good enough. I've been wanted to play another game for a while. My last contestants got a little violent. Marywood isn't as calm as a town like this." I reached down and sliced and cut at the remaining flesh and proceeded to wipe off the blood. "Finally. A real mask. Made one hundred percent of pig." I placed it over my head and smiled.

"So....whatever happened to your animal friends?"

I chuckled at the question. "You don't wanna know. So call up your Witch friend so we can get this game moving."

Tom's Pov
I stared into the Policeman's eyes as we sat in the never ending silence. What time is it? Where are my parents? Why can't I stop thinking about the dead bodies? Jeez. Think about anime. Or manga. Or Hentai even. I sighed into my arm and stood up.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I didn't say anything. I simply began stretching. My ass hurt from all that sitting.

"Still ignoring me. Fucking brat. You're so lucky your parents are above me."

I glared. "You're so lucky a stray bullet hasn't hit you while on duty, officer. Don't talk about me or my parents like you know them."

"Second time you've talked all day. It's a miracle. And I will fucking talk about your parents as long as I want. I'm the adult. You're the child. So you don't tell me what to do."

I slammed my hands against the table and stood up.

The man sneered. "Do it. Make my day." He reached down towards his belt. "A stray bullet may hit you a few times."

"Excuse me? Aren't you supposed to be a police officer?"

He laughed. "Not a normal one. You're wanted by the White Witch. Or one of her underlings. So she likely used her magic to create a false identity for me. You're coming with me." He pulled off his hat. He had white hair and his eyes were a bright blue. "Whether it be of your own free will, or if I have to drag you with me."

"Tell this White Witch she can fuck off." I leaped up and threw my chair at him. A bright blue light emerged from his hands as he lifted them to his face. I didn't stick around though and ran to the door around him. I opened it and ran out. "Help! Rape!" I paused at the scene in front of me. Dead officers. Torn apart and spread across the room. What the hell? I looked around for a caused and saw a figure standing against the wall with a Pumpkin head over their own. Red eyes stared back at me as they moved from their spot.

"It's 1pm. Took you long enough. I'm still hungry." The freak with the pumpkin head growled.

The white haired man emerged from the room. "Back off. He's mine."

"Jack. Jack. Jack. Are you telling me what to do?"

"I am. I work for the White Witch now." He smirked. "Sorry. What's with the pumpkin?"

I sighed. They were seriously just gonna have a conversation in this madness?

"The pumpkin was to fool people. They'd think the blood on me was apart of the costume they assumed I was wearing. It is Halloween after all." The sound of something bursting free was heard. That voice. So familiar. I'd heard it at least once or twice. But where? I watched as a pinkish tentacle like object emerged from the freak's back. "Idiots started calling me Jack O Lantern. Ironic, isn't it Jack?"

My eyes widened. The man named Jack sighed. "Do we really have to fight? We're old friends."

"If you stand in between me and my prey, yes."

"Then I'm sorry. The White Witch asks for this." He aimed one of his hands at the pumpkin freak. The same blue light pulsed around his hands and then a beam of blue and white light shot from his hands at the freak.

The freak ducked and the beam hit the wall they'd been standing near. There was the sound of cracking and I watched as ice formed over the wall. He just.....froze...the wall. The freak leaped onto a desk and slid along it. The tentacle thing slammed into the desk and lifted it up. I realized I was in the middle of them and leaped out of the way as the desk was thrown. There was a big smashing sound. Fuck this shit. I'm out. I ran towards the exit. The freak landed in front of me. "You're not going anywhere."

I glanced down at a bisected officer lying on the ground next to me. Gun. Or even a taser. I saw Jack out of the corner of my eye. "What are you, my mom?" I smiled as I got an idea. There was a water fountain by the entrance. Water. And a taser. Then use the pistol. I darted forward and removed both the taser and the pistol.

The freak laughed. "Seriously? You think a taser and a bullet could hit me? If Jack's freezing beams can't hit me, what makes you think you can?"

"You'll see." I grabbed a bunch of bloody papers off the desk and ran towards the water fountain. I saw the tentacle thing coming towards me as I approached so I threw the papers into the air and slid to the ground.

"FUCKER!" I slid up at the water fountain and made it look like I just missed the exit. The tentacle like object tore the paper to shreds. "Either I catch you, or he will. No point in running." The tentacle was sent forward as the freak ran at me. I leaped to the side as the tentacle tore a hole in the water fountain and the wall. Water sprayed out and onto the pumpkin head freak. Perfect. Mom and Dad's lessons on how to protect myself were useful after all. I aimed the taser and fired. Wires burst free and attached to the freaks clothes. That, combined with the water was likely a nasty shock. I dropped the taser and tossed the gun at Jack who had been trying to sneak up on me.

Jack raised his hands and froze the gun as I bolted through the front door. Sunlight hit my face as my shoes slammed against the pavement beneath me. A red car swerved in front of me before I got too far and I stumbled backwards. I groaned as I hit the ground and was thankful I was wearing jeans and not shorts. The driver door opened and out stepped a man. The man had on a white suit and a pig's head. It looked real enough so I doubted this was a Halloween prank. Then the passenger door opened and my eyes widened as I saw who it was. My info friend from school. The one who had a voice modifier to hide his gender. "Hey. Could you guys give me a ride? There's this dude who can freeze stuff with these beams that come from his hands. It's like anime became real life."

My info friend shook his head. "Sorry, Tommy. There's been a change. We're no longer friends. We never were."

"What?" I stood up. "I'll tell then. Everyone. Invasion of privacy. Or something." I glared.

"Pfft. You'll never be found. A shame."

I glanced to the side and saw Jack walking towards us. "You....you.....fuck." I knew there was nowhere to run. I closed my eyes as Jack's hands began glowing. He then fired the beams at me.

Unknown Amount Of Time Later
There was darkness for a while. Darkness and cold. That was all I knew for a while. But then suddenly there was a blast of heat. It felt so comforting after so much cold. I suddenly felt wet everywhere as I opened my eyes. I shivered and felt my teeth chattering as the ice around me melted. A lady held her hands out to certain parts of the ice and fire shot out from them. I gasped at the change in air temperature as I landed on the floor. I stared up at the lady as the flames stopped coming from her hands. She peered down at me and sighed. "He's not dead, pig!"

The pig man from earlier emerged from the darkness. "Thank you Olivia. I'm thankful that Witch was kind enough to send help. Things were looking a bit chilly for poor Tom here."

The woman named Olivia rolled her eyes. "Puns. Gotta love them. Not. Your puns suck. And I'm outta here. My job's complete. And staying in this place is a big no-no." She flicked her black hair and walked off with her tight black suit.

I was still gasping for air on the floor while all of this was happening. Ever been frozen? It sucks ass. Don't try it. I glanced up at the pig man. "C-c-c-c-can I h-h-h-have a d-d-dry set of c-c-clothes." I shivered.

The man shrugged. "I doubt you'd fit my clothes. Just sit here in this heated room till you dry off. Don't come out till you feel comfortable moving though. Otherwise, you'll be very.....displeased." He walked over to a metal door and left through it.

I shivered. Displeased? Like I wasn't displeased enough about being frozen and fucking kidnapped? I glanced around at the room I was in and sighed. A small window was in the upper left corner of the room but that was it. So much for an extra escape route. I waited in the ray of sunlight that shone through the tiny window. Slowly getting warmer. Waiting for my freaking clothes to stop feeling so wet. After a good while of waiting, I felt comfortable enough to move without feeling wet clothes against me, which I took as a sign that I was dry enough. I stood up and walked towards the door the pig dude had walked through.

When I entered the other room and saw Maria eating at a big fancy table, I was confused. Maria glanced over at me. Her dark red eyes widened as she saw me. "You're that Tom boy, right?" My eyes narrowed for a moment but I smiled.

"Yup. Tom Riddle is the name."

"As in...Voldemort?" She giggled at my name.

"People called me Voldemort, the Riddler, a lot of other weird stuff." I shrugged. "I prefer Tom though."

"Hmm." A voice whispered in my ear. I turned and saw Sam staring at me. "I came to help you, Tom. In the police station. But they kidnapped me too."

I nodded and backed away from Sam. "No problem. At least you tried." I smiled awkwardly.

Sam glanced at Maria. "So, why are you the only one eating food? Are you working with these guys?" His voice was emotionless. Almost like he wasn't suspicious, but asking a normal question about something like the weather.

"Me? Working with these psychos? As if. I'm just...eating."

"What if the food was poisoned?"

"Then I'm toast. But I'm not turning down the chance to eat good food." She cut a slice of pie with a knife and shoved it in her mouth. "So goofth." Her voice was a bit strange with food in it.

"What kind of pie is that?"

The pig man emerged from the darkness. "People."

"Excuse me?"

"They're people pies. Made of my friends." He was holding a big black bag. He placed it on the fancy table and opened it. Empty animal masks spilled onto the table. "And apparently Maria thinks they taste so goofth." He mocked and snorted.

Maria froze and turned her eyes to the pig man. She'd already swallowed the pie. "I'm gonna be sick."

"Your friend was right. Eating food from a stranger wasn't smart."

Maria stood up. "You little shit!"

My eyes widened. "I know that voice. You're that pumpkin freak." I pointed at Maria.

Maria coughed. She shook her head. "W-what pumpkin freak?"

"Don't try and play it off now. You were eating people and calling it good. Your voice sounds like that thing's, and you have the same color eyes." I pointed my finger at her. "It's obvious."

The pig man chuckled.

Sam glanced at Maria. "It's also suspicious how you were the only one given special treatment. And when I was sneaking around the police station, I didn't see you when that pumpkin head showed up."

The pig man shook his head. "You're all going to be equal in the game."

Maria froze. "I'm not being in your game. WW isn't my concern."

"Does WW mean White Witch?" I smiled at Maria.

"How do you-".

"The fact that you know about the same thing that these guys have been talking about simply gives me more evidence that you're guilty."

The area around Maria's already red eyes turned black and veins popped out around her eyes. "You really are annoying. Why the hell are you so perceptive?"

"A friend of mine loves mysteries. He solves them quicker than I ever could and gone over situations like these a hundred times with me. So I have my friend Gunther to thank for being so perceptive as you say. I learned my skills from him."

Maria smiled. "Sucks that those skills will never be put to use though. You're gonna die, and you and your skills will be forgotten."

The pig man slammed his hand down onto the table. "I AM IN CHARGE! I AM TALKING! I EXPLAIN HOW THE GAME WORKS! THE NEXT PERSON WHO SPEAKS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION GETS A KNIFE IN THEIR EYE!" He breathed heavily and his left hand was twitching.

Silence answered.

"Good. Now, you'll all be playing a game. A giant black haired grey skinned human thing destroyed my last place where I hosted my previous game and I'm a bit annoyed. Took the other two who didn't manage to escape and ran off after. One of the guys wasn't even alive! I think. Can never be too sure anymore. This game will be harder as a result. I won't give you poison like my last contestants....but....there is a person inside this facility who can drain you of your life force in seconds. The moment he grabs you, cells age rapidly and before a full minute is up, you're dead. The exit is in this room so all you have to do is find the key in the maze."

Sam nodded. "So once we go through the doors, that person can be anywhere?"

"YES! BUT I SAID DON'T TALK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!" He grabbed a knife off the table.

Sam grabbed another knife. "Let's think about what you're about to do."

He lunged over the table and swung the knife at Sam's face. Sam ducked and sliced at his mask. The knife struck the mask from the neck and made a cut and pushed his mask off. I blinked. How anti-climatic. The man clutched his throat and smiled. His eyes turned red and the area around them turned black. The veins around his eyes popped out as smoke began coming from his bleeding neck. I sighed. I grabbed a wooded chair that had been pushed out and leaped over the table and swung the chair against the unmasked pig man's head. He crumbled to the floor.

Maria clapped. "Bravo. You guys make a great team." She glanced over at another door in the room. "However...".

The info man burst in through the door she was staring at. "Big brother!" He turned to us. "How dare you!"

I shook my head. "Take off that mask before I rip it off your face."

A boy stepped out from behind the info boy. Boy. Who the hell was that?

The info boy laughed. "Fine. If you wanna know so badly, I guess I can show you." He walked over to the door we were supposed to go to for the maze and opened it. "But, the longer you stay here, the quicker that life sucker may show up." He walked back to where he'd been standing and pulled his mask off. An unfamiliar face stared back at me. "Surprise!"

I shook my head. "Who are you?"

The info boy glared. "Exactly. Nobody knows me. It's a shame my slutty sister get's all the attention. But whatever. I'm Max. Max Romber. And I'm in your class." He put his finger to his blond hair and rolled his eyes. "Maybe you'll recognize me better if I did this." He held his hands out and light flashed around his body. His blond hair turned black and grew longer, down past his waist. His grey eyes turned a dark red. The area around his chest expanded to create breasts. His suit morphed into a plain white shirt. His pants morphed into a skirt. His shoes turned red and lip gloss appeared on his lips. "Recognize me now, hot stuff?"

I gasped. "Maxine? Seriously?" She was a popular girl from our school. "Why?"

Maxine huffed. "Because, you people never noticed me when I was Max. Always Maxine. Always Maxine. I hated it. Nobody knew the real me. I was a nobody as Max. But the White Witch gave me a purpose. She gave me an identity. And everyone loved me. Maxine was everything I wasn't. Loud spoken. Courageous. Not a loser. The only person who understood me was a fellow loser friend of mine. Tommy. Thomas. Whatever." She gestured at the boy next to her. "The White Witch gave him a new form as well. He became the right hand girl of Maxine. Julie." She smiled.

"I thought we were friends."

"Friends? Friends? Seriously? You didn't even know who I was five minutes ago. I'd never be your friend. And Jeff says you should die. So why don't you just do everyone a favor and do that."

Jeff. I stared at the unconscious pig man.

The boy named Thomas sighed. "Okay. This is an emotional time for everyone. So let's not get ourselves killed by that age sucking freak." He walked towards the doors leading to the maze to close it. When he reached for the door handles, a hand grabbed him from the darkness and pulled him in.

Maxine gasped. "TOMMY!" She ran after him.

Maria walked over to the exit and sighed. The tentacle thing emerged from her back and she smashed open the door. "Fuck that key." She turned back to me. "You're not leaving though. Sorry if you got your ho-". A blur was all I saw. But then, Maria coughed up blood and her head fell off. Her body crumbled after her. I blinked.

"If this were an ending to a series, I wouldn't rate it high. Guess I'm used to anime and manga with endings that are crazy. This felt anticlimactic." I sighed. I looked at the white haired man standing behind Maria's fallen body.

Sam showed his first sign of emotion and smiled. "Took you long enough. I thought you'd never find me. I was beginning to think my tracker on Maria had deactivated. I suspected she was that pumpkin head for a while so I placed one there for precaution."

I stared blankly at the white haired man as he held a glowing white scythe in one hand and a briefcase in the other. He had on a white suit with a strange symbol on it and he walked over to me. "I am Victor Bennett. Special Rank officer of the Monster Suppression Organization. It's nice to meet you. I'd like for you to come with me, Tom." I tilted my head. Huh? I stared up at the man's icy blue eyes in question.

Sam turned to me. "It's just a precaution. So you know, Max, Maxine or whatever she, he or it wants to be called doesn't come back. And possibly.....nevermind. I'll explain later. Just come on if you don't wanna die. Or be alone."

I sighed. What a great explanation. I nodded. "Fine. But only because I don't want Victor to cut my head off if I refuse." Charlie. Gunther. Alex. What are you guys doing? Jeez. I hope it's not as dangerous or exciting as this. I glanced around for Max's older brother but didn't spot him. Or the pig mask. Strange. I recalled seeing him a few times though, unlike Max. His name was....Jeff. I think. I shrugged it off and walked past the other two towards the exit.
