I watched Sera's panicked expression as she looked at the picture projected onto the wall.
"Who..who would do this?" Ariel asked.
"I don't know." I replied. "But I assure you, we will find out."
"Hey.. you okay you kinda just freaked and ran out on me.." Jefferson said and put his arm around Sera's shoulders. It took everything I had not to snap that little bastard in half.
"Alright, everyone listen to me!" I shouted catching the attention of the students. "Everyone is to go into the dining hall immediately. Everyone must be accounted for!" I instructed and with help from the staff, the students began filing out of the ballroom to go to the dining hall everyone except for Sera, August, Jefferson, Ariel, and Elsa who were all still staring at the pictures on the wall.
"That includes you lot." I sighed.
"Come on Stark." Jefferson said and they began making their way out of the ballroom Sera's face was so much paler she was almost transparent.
I joined Emma for head count, making sure everyone was accounted for and no students were missing. I hoped this was some really fucked up prank, but deep down I knew that it wasn't.
"Everyone accounted for?" I asked.
"Yes. Everyone's here. We'll start questioning in the morning and we will rotate shifts watching the dorms all night. Zelena, and Tink are walking the grounds, making sure all is safe." Emma said. "Gold is checking up on Sera's family to make sure everyone is okay there."
"Don't you think we should let Sera know?" I asked.
"We will when we know. The last thing we need is Sera getting scared and trying to leave to go see them."
"Aye, lets not let that happen." I sighed. "We'll start questioning students in the morning but tonight there is something that needs to be dealt with.." I said. "Start letting everyone go back to their dorms."
I made my way through the students to where Sera, and her group were.
"All is clear, everyone is to go back to their dorms." I said.
"Do you know who did this?" Elsa asked.
"No. I don't know anything at the moment." I shook my head.
"How are we supposed to just go to bed? Our friend is in danger." August said.
I sighed.
"Mr. Booth, I don't have the answers to your questions, but rest assured that no one is any danger tonight, the school has been searched and secured while you were all in here. Now, everyone to their dorms, I won't say it again."
Everyone stood up.
"Actually, Miss Stark, Mr. Hatt..I need a word with both of you."
"Me?" Jefferson scoffed. "I don't have anything to do with th-"
"Just shut up and sit down." I barked. Sera looked at me with eyes begging me to just calm down. The others couldn't seem to get away from the table fast enough.
"How are you feeling Stark?" I asked. "Light headed? Foggy? Maybe a little floaty?"
"Well.. I did just see my face with the words your next, next to a picture of Wendy Darling.. But I was feeling that way before that." She shrugged.
"That would be because you were glamoured." I said and glared at Jefferson who shrunk down in his chair.
"What?" Sera asked.
"You've been enchanted Stark, likely by a potion slipped into your drink. It makes you out of control of your own thoughts, movements, everything really."
Sera turned her hurt expression to Jefferson.
"Is it true?" She asked.
Jefferson sighed.
"Yes, but Sera I only-"
"Save your breath." Sera scoffed. "Am I good to go?" She asked turning to me.
"Sera wait!" Jefferson pleaded.
"Yes, Stark. Straight to the dorms." I said.
"Aye Aye Captain.." She mumbled and walked away from the table with her arms crossed.
"Come on man why did you have to do that?" Jefferson sighed and put his head in his hands. "It wasn't what it looked like!"
"You're lucky this school is on lockdown Mr. Hatt because if it were up to me you'd be thrown out tonight." I said and turned on my heels walking away from him.

I sat at my desk looking into the mirror as I took off all the pink and purple make up I had on. Unfortunately I was likely going to sparkle for the rest of my life. However..long I had left that is.
"Why is it always me?" I mumbled to myself and put my head in my hands.
"Nothing says Welcome to Magic school like your life being threatened." Regina snarked from behind me.
"No one asked you.." I sighed.
"Oh relax it was probably just a stupid prank." Regina scoffed.
I spun around in my chair
"Did you have anything to do with this?" I asked.
"Why would you think it was me?" Regina asked.
"Because you're evil." I shrugged. "Of course with a mother like that..."
"You don't know anything about my mother." Regina spat.
"I Know normal mothers don't throw fireballs at their kids. Of course.. They don't call the town priest to rid you of demons either. Both our mothers are winners it seems." I said.
"My mother just wants me to be the best that I can be." Regina said.
"It sounded like she just wanted you to be better than me." I shrugged. "Not a hard thing to do, no reason to put my picture on the wall and threaten me."
Regina glared.
"I'm telling you, that wasn't me."
"Well you should hope not.." I said and picked up my pajamas and started walking into the bathroom to shower.
"And why is that?" Regina asked with her hands on her hips.
"Because, Wendy was Elsa's best friend. That Prank didn't just hurt me. It hurt her too, and I really don't like it when my friends are hurt so if I find out you had anything to do with it, I'll make what I did to your face the last time you messed with me look like child's play." I threatened and slammed the bathroom door shut.
Once out of the shower and into my PJs I grabbed my laptop and plopped down on my bed and opened it. I knew there was no way I was going to sleep, so I might as well get some homework done. I slipped my headphones on and turned on my playlist, getting to work quickly. My computer pinged, and I looked around the screen for the source and noticed an IM request from Killian. I sighed and opened it.
Killian:
You awake?
Me:
Yup. You're just taking us straight back to the 1990s. IM, really?
Killian:
Would you prefer to have to open an email every time I send a message? Its convenient. Were you even alive in the 90s Stark?
Me:
Are you just trying to make yourself sound older?
Killian:
Are you okay?
Me:
Fine. Why?
Killian:
Well, your face was plastered on the wall, with a threatening message and you were basically given the magic equivalent of roofies, by your date.
Me:
Sounds like a typical halloween party if you ask me.
Killian:
You know you don't have to put up that charade with me Stark.. I know you are scared, and I know what Jefferson did hurt your feelings.
Me:
Then why even ask? Why are you even messaging me? I highly doubt you message the rest of your students like this.
My phone started vibrating beside me, Which was odd because it was so late. I looked down at the caller ID and it was Gabe. I answered
"Gabe its after midnight." I whispered into the phone to avoid waking up Regina.
"I know Sera.. its just..People from your school showed up asking questions and mom is freaking out and her and Dad are fighting. What the hell happened?"
"It was just some stupid Halloween prank Gabe.." I sighed. I could hear my mom yelling in the background and my dad yelling back. They never fought at least not like this. I felt horrible that they were fighting because of me.
"Are you sure? Because that Gold guy made it seem like you were actually in danger and that we might be in danger too." Gabriel said.
"As far as I know it was just a prank. I don't know they weren't really telling anyone anything, I didn't even know people were going over there to check.." I said. "Everything...is okay over there right?"
"Yeah besides them yelling at each other.." Gabriel mumbled.
"I'm sorry Gabe. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
"I Know you didn't Sera. Don't carry it all on your shoulders." Gabe replied. I stopped talking to listen to my parents.
"None of this would be happening if she didn't make this happen!" My mother shouted.
"Darla you act like it was her choice, It wasn't none of this was." My dad said defending me.
"It was her choice! Last time she was here I offered to help her!"
"You didn't offer to help her. You offered to have her exorcised! She's not evil Darla she's our daughter for fucks sake!" Dad shouted. Dad rarely ever raised his voice like this.
"I don't know what she is anymore but she is not my daughter Alec!" My mother spat venomously.
"Gabe I gotta go." I said quickly and hung up the phone. I hated leaving him like that in the middle of my parents fighting but I couldn't listen to it anymore. I felt something I hadn't felt since working on my elemental magic with Killian. There was a fire raging inside of me, spiking an instant fever. My head was throbbing, and I was getting tunnel vision as I turned to look at my computer at the IM conversation between Killian and I.
Killian:
Because Sera, I tried to tell you earlier the only mistake I made in the gym that day was telling you it was a mistake. I can't pretend that what is clearly happening between us, isn't happening and I don't want to pretend anymore. I want this. I want you.
Sera?
You there?
Everything okay?
I shut my laptop and quietly slipped on my boots before tiptoeing to the door and opening it. Completely unprepared to see Killian on the other side of it.
"What are you doing here?" I hissed. "If anyone sees you.." I whispered as I quietly closed the door.
"I don't care Sera." He said. "I was worried about you." He said and then looked me up and down. "Going somewhere?" He asked.
"I just have to get out of here.." I said. He reached forward but I backed up. "Don't. It's happening again.." I said and shook my head. "I can't stop it." I felt the wood from the door warp under my hand and pushed myself off the door looking at the shape of my hand warped into the door. I felt my heart thundering in my chest.
"Come with me, let me help." Killian said
I was hesitant.
"You aren't going to hurt me Stark but you are going to hurt yourself if you don't let me help you."
"Okay.." I nodded
I followed him down the hall, and up the stairs. I'd never been up here before. There was a bunch of rooms, much like the downstairs part.
"What is this?" I asked.
"Teachers quarters." Killian whispered.
"Teachers have to stay too?" I asked.
"We don't have to, and there are a few who don't, Zelena, and Faciler go to their homes in town every night and everyone else but me stays until the holidays. I live here full time." Killian said and we walked up one more set of stairs. He opened a door and walked inside.
"Come in.." he said. I stepped into the room and looked around realizing it wasn't just another room. There was a living room area, a small kitchen with a dining table, and two other rooms within, I figured one was the bathroom and one was the bedroom. And then I was hit with another realization...I was basically inside Killian's house.
It was small, but cozy and very well kept and tidy. There was a small sofa, and a chair in the living room and a large TV mounted on the wall, which I was incredibly jealous of. Watching netflix on my computer with my headphones was a pain in the neck.
I heard Killian pouring something and looked to the bathroom where he was standing over the tub pouring ice into it.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I walked into the bathroom
"Helping you. Get in." He said and nodded to the tub.
"Uh.. okay." I said and slipped off my boots and stepped into the tub. The heat coming off my body instantly started melting the ice as I sat down and yelped as Killian poured more ice over me. There was steam rising from the tub now as it reacted with my affinity fueled fever.
"This should bring the fever down quickly. Just try to calm down." He said and sat on the edge of the tub.
"What set it off?" He asked.
"Gabe called me to tell me Gold came to the house to ask questions. He wanted to check on me..but my parents were fighting in the background.." I muttered. "My mother said I wasn't her daughter anymore.."
Killian sighed.
"I'm sorry Sera..." He said.
I just shrugged trying not to think about it too much. Trying to get this fever down so I didn't have to worry about hurting anyone.
Before too much longer, the ice had mostly melted, and I was shivering in a tub of cold water.
"I think its gone." I said through chattering teeth.
"Probably a safe bet." Killian nodded.
"Theres one problem though." I said.
"What is it?"
"I didn't bring any extra clothes, and these ones are soaked." I said.
"I really didn't think about that." Killian said. "I'm sorry. Um.. give me just a moment." He said and walked out of the bathroom.
It was just a couple moments later when he returned with a towel, and a bathrobe.
"Just dry off, and put this on. I'll throw your clothes in the dryer and you can just...hang out here until they are dry." He shrugged.
"Okay." I said and stood up shivering. Killian walked out of the bathroom so I could take off the freezing cold clothes, and dry off. Once dry, I wrapped the black fluffy bathrobe around me and tied it tightly around the waist. I left my soaking clothes on the floor because I didn't want to carry them through the loft and make a mess. I walked out of the bathroom.
"I turned on the fireplace, just make yourself at home, and I'll take care of your clothes.
I nodded and stepped into the living room sitting down in front of the fireplace.
After a little while, Killian came into the living room with a cup of tea for me.
"Thank you." I said.
"You're welcome." he replied. "How are you feeling?" He asked and sat down beside me.
"Better." I nodded.
"Good." He smiled.
"Is it always going to be like this?" I asked. "Everytime I get upset?"
Killian shook his head.
"No. After some time, you won't have to worry about melting anyone every time you're stressed. Its still just a work in progress." He said. "Sometimes you'll find you won't be able to use your affinity at all when you're upset. Fire is probably the trickiest of them all." He explained.
"I see.." I said and sipped at my tea. I set the mug down and looked at him.
"So.. I saw your messages. The..last ones." I said.
"We don't have to talk about that right now if you don't want to." Killian said.
"I wouldn't have brought it up if I didn't want to talk about it." I said. "Unless..you didn't mean what you said."
"Of course I meant what I said Sera." He said, his blue eyes softened. "I want this.. Whatever it is that we have."
"I don't want to start this if you are going to change your mind every week.." I said.
"I'm not Sera. Seeing you with Jefferson tonight just about drove me mad and I realized that wouldn't have happened if I were just honest with you from the start. What happened in the gym..was the furthest thing from a mistake. It wasn't just a haze, I truly wanted you then, and I wish I never would have stopped it because I never want to see that look of hurt in your eyes again."
I scooted closer to him and slowly leaned in. He held the side of my face in his hand, and brought me closer until his lips captured mine. That sensation, that I felt in the gym that day of gasoline being poured on fire was nothing compared to the sensation I felt now and I knew now there was no stopping what we've started.
Killian broke away from the kiss, and stood up, and for a split second I thought maybe I was wrong. He held his hand out to me. I took his hand and he pulled me from the floor and pulled me in until my chest was flush against his and his lips were back on mine in a searing and needy kiss.
"I have to have you Stark." he mumbled against my lips. I untied the robe belt around my waist and shrugged it off my shoulders, letting it fall to the floor.
"What are you waiting for then, Jones?" I smirked against his lips.
--------------------------------------------------
We laid tangled up in each other, and Killian's dark red satin sheets, Killian placed tender kisses up my shoulder as I was still coming down from the pure ecstasy I had just experienced.
"You're shaking darling, are you alright?" He asked as his teeth grazed my earlobe.
"Never been better." I said smiling as I snuggled into his chest. "How are we going to keep this from everyone?" I asked.
"We'll worry about that later Sera, for now I just want to enjoy this moment before you have to go back to your dorm." He said into my hair before his lips kissed the top of my head.
"Can't I go back tomorrow? Theres no way I'll be able to sleep if I go back tonight." I said. I didn't want to move. My legs felt like jello, and being here, with my head on his chest, listening to the drumming of Killian's heart felt like this was right where I was always meant to be. Like any other relationship I had, was preparing me for this moment. Everything felt so right, for once in my life, something felt like it was meant to be.
"I suppose I can try to sneak you out of here tomorrow morning." He mumbled. I looked up at him, his eyes were tired, and his smile was adorable, and sleepy. I reached down and pulled the blanket up over us and he pulled me closer than I knew was possible.
"Goodnight my phoenix." He said softly. I smiled again and closed my eyes and for the first time in a long time, sleep came easy
