[5] shoot and scoot
It was half seven, I had already showered, dried and straightened my hair and I decided to put on some skinny jeans and a baggy Hollywood undead top. I wasn't trying to impress him, or his friends. I just wanted to feel comfortable.
I had half an hour left, I had already looked up how far of a walk his house was on google maps, only fifteen minutes. So I had now ten to spare.
"Marsha!" I heard my mom shout from downstairs, I thought about ignoring her and acting like I didn't hear but I didn't exactly want to be on her bad side.
"Coming!" I replied walking down the stairs to her. I walked into the kitchen to see her sitting on a stool pulled up at the counter.
"What time are you going out hunny?" She asked me as I walked over to her, and leaned on the counter across from her stood up.
"In about ten minutes," I answered. I was use to her questioning me.
"Okay, remember don't be back too late please?"
My mom was always overprotective, more than some moms. But I saw why, I was all she did had left. I was her only child, and I was her only priority. Sometimes I did wish she would move on from dad, I know he wouldn't be angry. Just so she had a life of her own, it upset me to see the only thing she had was me sometimes.
"I will, I promise."
"Where are you going?"
"My friend's house, he doesn't live far," I told her.
"He?" She asked me with a smile, wanting to know more. I nodded. "What's his name?"
"Mom, I haven't got time for this."
"I just wanna know," she innocently grinned putting her hands up in defence.
"Billie Joe."
"Armstrong?" She asked me quickly as her annoying smile dropped. I was confused but nodded slowly. "Tell him I said to say hi from me to Ollie."
I looked at her more confused. I couldn't tell if she was trying to wind me up or not. So I nodded and began to walk to Billies following the map on my phone.
I reached his, or what should be his house and walked up to the door before knocking three times, waiting for him to open the door.
The door opened as I found myself in front of Billie Joe, "Hey Marsha," he greeted excitedly as he saw me. I smiled back as he stepped back for me to come in.
"I know this is weird but my mom asked me where I was going," I told him, he nodded to show me he was listening as we both sat down on his couch. "And I said Billie joes, she then really quickly said 'Armstrong?', And I said yeah." Billie looked as confused as I did.
"How does she...?"
"I don't know." I shrugged. "But she said to tell someone called Ollie or something she said hi? I don't know who Ollie is but-" Billie was quick to cut me off.
"My mom?"
"Ollies your mom?"
He nodded slowly. "How does your mom know my mom?"
I was as confused as he was but tried to suggest some logical answers that would make my mom seem less of a weirdo. "Maybe they were old friends or something?"
There was another knock on the door. I looked at Billie as if to say 'aren't you gonna get it?' But he put one finger up to me as if to say wait. Shortly after two boys bursted through the door screaming.
"We're here!" One shouted with bright blue coloured hair, from where I was he looked like he had bright blue eyes, and his friend had browny blonde spiky hair and also blue eyes.
"Woah who's this Billie?" The one with spiky hair asked taking a look over at me as they came over.
"This is my Friend Marsha, Marsha this is Mike," he said pointing to the one standing in front of me, then moved his finger over to the bright-haired boy close to the door "and that's Tre."
"Hi," I smiled nervously. They both greeted me like they had done it a million times before, like we all had been life long friends. But we hadn't. I just met them. And yet I felt so welcomed.
"I invited her over to listen to us practice, I played her some songs in the car and she thinks they're good." He told the two boys.
"They're great," I added smiling to them. They both began to look proud.
"Thank you," Mike told me. Before i could say he was welcome Tre said something.
"Ah, what can I say," Tre smiled as they began to walk through the room into another room, I and Billie followed them.
We walked into a crowded room, there was a full set of drums and a few electric, bass and acoustic guitars here and there.
"You can just sit there if you want?" Billie suggested pointing to a stool.
"Sure," I shrugged sitting down on to it. I watched as they all got in certain places, Billie picked up one guitar which was crowded at the front with stickers and pictures with the initials 'BJ' on. I looked up at his face, he looked so serious as he picked it up, and that was a change from how I had saw him recently.
He explained they were gonna go over a few songs, to practice the ones they hadn't got quite a grip on yet.
They played a few, as I watched in awe occasionally beating my head along to the rhythm. I felt Billies eyes on me a lot, but I felt too awkward to look as his so I would quickly dart my eyes to the instruments, Tre or Mike.
They were all brilliant, I couldn't take it in. They finished the last song as I clapped to them, I watched as they took bows laughing.
"That's amazing! You guys are really good together!" I told them all still clapping.
They all smiled and thanked me.
"So you like it?" Billie asked as he came over to me with a crooked grin.
"I love it! You all are so talented at this shit!"
"We are pretty awesome," Mike smirked as he set his guitar down. Tre agreed and nodded fast in agreement.
After I had finished complimenting them all Tre and Mike left the room, to the next room. I could still hear them talking as there wasn't actually a door in the doorway, just a hole of where it should be.
"Hey, have you seen my phone?" Billie asked me feeling around his pockets and looking around.
"No?"
"Shit, I must have left it upstairs." He cursed looking at me. "I'll be back in a second." He ran out of the room as I heard his footsteps leave and go upstairs.
It was just me sat in silence and occasionally I heard the talking between Tre and Mike. Until I decided to tune in, although I couldn't help it. It was sorta all I could hear.
"But do you think she realises what she's getting herself into?" I heard Tre's voice ask Mike.
"I don't know, she's nice. And Billie seems to like her, I've never seen him concentrate so much in band practice, he normally pisses about and songs stupid songs and shit."
Tre agreed. "But I don't think she realises what's gonna happen?"
"What you mean the shoot and scoot?" Mike asked sort of chuckling.
"Shoot and scoot? You mean the cum and run." Tre laughed.
I understood the moment I heard Tres reworded version of the 'shoot and scoot', and that's why Alice had told me to not get involved with him. He was the type to just fuck and leave you.
I heard them laughing like two immature teenagers, when in fact. They were. "No no, listen to this one: ejaculate and evacuate." Mike hollard laughing as Tre joined in.
"Hit it then quit it." Tre snorted.
They must have carried on going forever. I felt sick realising. I wanted to go but Billie was still in his room looking for his phone.
"BLOW YOUR LOAD AND HIT THE ROAD!" I heard loud thumps after Mike had shouted like they had fallen to the floor in fits of laughs as they both struggled to catch their breath from laughing.
"NO, I have a good one! Rock her box then change the locks!"
More laughter.
"Smash her rear and disappear!"
They both cackled.
"SHOOT THE JIZZ AND OUT YOU IS." They had both lost it completely by then. After a while of them catching their breath and saying more phrases of shoot and scoot, I heard Mike talk again seriously. After a long while of them laughing.
"But he never really does this,"
"What?" Tre asked.
"He doesn't invite them to band practices or talks about them like he has been doing with her, or try to impress them. He really just-" sniggering again "-smashes and dashes!" Then they lost it for what felt like the millionth time.
But I thought to myself. What did that mean? Did he not have the intention of what they were saying? Or did he? Or did he just wanna be friends? Of course, he did.
And then finally Billie came back in the room.
"What are they on about?" He laughed slightly pulling up a stool next to mine.
I laughed too like I wasn't quite sure like I hadn't been listening to them.
"I heard them say things like 'spread your seed and need for speed'?" He said questionably.
I couldn't help but snort at that one. He did too.
They both ran in like kids with tears streaming down their face and joy in their eyes.
"Guys guys, which ones better," Mike started. They both began to laugh again as Mike took a deep breath. "Bust the nut and-" he began laughing again not able to finish his sentence then took another breath "- and out the hut, or! Or! Cure the erection and end the connection!" That was it. They were both on the floor again, gasping for air mid-way through their laughs.
Billie looked at me and softly laughed as he stood up, he looked at me waiting for me to stand up. So I did as I followed him out the room, we stepped over mike and tre still giggling wiping tears away and made our way to his front door.
He stood at the door as I stood outside ready to leave.
"Thanks for having me come over, you and your friends are great fun." I smiled at him. He chuckled.
"They're annoying too aren't they?"
I smiled slightly. I didn't exactly want to agree with that, but they were. In a good way.
"But it's okay, I think they like you- hey you should come over more for band practice!" He eagerly suggested. Then he looked wide eyes as if he just caught himself out in what he was saying. "I mean, if you want obviously you don't have to I just think it's nice to have you around I-"
"-nice to have me around?" I smirked slightly as I watched his face turn all shades of scarlet.
"-no I just." He put his hand on his head and sighed giving up with his words as I giggled lightly.
"Sure, I would love to."
He smiled over to me as we were both caught again looking deeply into each other's souls.
"Billie Billie! You gotta come hear this one!" I heard Tre shout.
"I'm gonna go." He awkwardly said looking at me. "Wish me luck. They're big pains y'know."
I smiled softly at him. He says 'Y'know' a whole damn lot.
"Sure, yeah," I smiled snapping myself from my daze from staring at him and his eyes "Good luck Billie Joe." I smiled.
"Bye Brooks."
