[39] why are you here?
"Please!" He begged me, his hair still messy from just having waking up. "You make the best pancakes, please! For me,"
"Billie, I'm not making pancakes,"
"Please!" He begged as he sat upon the bed and got on his knees. He clasped his hands together as he whined some more.
"No,"
"Uhg!" He sighed as he threw himself back on the bed laying down looking up bath the ceiling. "Why don't you love me,"
"I do, I'm just not making you pancakes when you can make your own,"
"But mine always end up being burnt! Or I flip them too early and they fall apart y'know this!"
"Yeah I do," I laughed.
"So come on!"
"What about Tre and Mike?"
"They won't even be up yet I bet you!"
"Alright," I breathed, giving into him.
"You will!?" He excitedly asked me sitting up with a hopeful smile. I nodded before he pulled me into a big hug and repeatedly thanked me. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you! My god, I love you!"
I laughed hugging him back before I got up off of mine and his bed and headed out our room. As I walked out I realised someone else walking out their room across the hallway, I looked up to them thinking it must be Tre or mike. And at that moment in time, my only real worry was 'shit, now I have to make them pancakes too,' but I think the whole making pancakes would be such a breeze compared to this.
Her eyes connected with mine. And we both paused looking at each other. She looked regretful that I saw her. And I sorta wish I didn't.
"What are you doing here?" I finally asked her breaking the silence. She stayed quiet though, not answering me. "Hello? Earth to Alice?"
She shook her head zoning back into reality. "Sorry, I must have zoned out."
"No kidding,"
"What did you say?"
"Why are you here?" I repeated. "And why did you just walk out of mike's ro- oh my god you didn't!"
She instantly freaked out. "Don't tell Billie! Or Tre!"
"What mikes not gonna tell them?"
"No,"
"So mike wasn't even gonna tell me....?" I asked questionably.
She looked confused for a moment. Not confused with what I asked but more confused with what she was supposed to say. If she said no, she'd know I'd not only be mad at Mike for it but tell Billie. But to say yes wouldn't even add up because why would mike tell me and not the guys?
"....yes?" She said unsure herself.
"Bullshit,"
"What?"
"Your lying, I can't believe this,"
"Just, please don't tell Billie or Tre. Please?"
I looked at her for a second. She held her jacket over her arm and her heels in her hand. I looked down at her feet, she had socks on. They must've gone out somewhere yesterday if she's got heels with her.
"Where'd you go last night?" I asked.
She sighed, "it was just a date,"
"You ended up here?"
"One thing led to another!"
I breathed out lightly. Was this really happening? This is unbelievable. I can't even believe this.
I was just about to walk off down the stairs and just ignore the fact that I ever saw her until I heard he door open behind me.
"Hey what's taking so- oh hi Marsha, what are you doing there?" Billie asked standing in the open doorway stood in his boxers and shirtless.
"Erm...."
"Is that?" He moved his head to look around me as his eyes landed on Alice. "Alice?"
"Shit," she muttered.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her confused. "Did y'know she was here?" He now asked me as he diverted his eyes to me. I shook my head fast, meaning I had not a clue as he looked back over to her.
"So erm... I'll go make pancakes?" I said beginning to walk away.
"No wait," Billie said pulling me back. "That's okay, I don't want them anymore- erm- come on let's go back in the room," he said dragging me back through the doorway leaving Alice awkwardly stood there. We shut the door as we heard her walk down the stairs and he looked over at me.
"Why is she here?"
"I don't know,"
"Did she walk out of mike's room?" Billie asked as he headed over and opened his closet.
"Uhuh," I nodded.
He pulled a shirt out the closet as he put it on and hopped into some skinny black jeans, "So did they-"
"-I'm guessing so,"
"No way," Billie said shaking his head in disbelief as he walked back over to me, "why would that happen?"
"I remember mike saying the other day he felt bad," I recalled, "because he never took her on that date, maybe that's what happened,"
"You think they went on a date last night?"
"Well, she had her heels on her,"
"Good call... but how did a date turn to-?"
"I asked her that too, she just told me one thing lead to another," I shrugged.
"I can't believe that,"
"Are you angry at him?"
"Course I am, you fell out with your own best friend for mike. And now mike's going back to her. Basically making the point you proved worthless." He ranted. "Don't you think?"
"Course I do, but I don't wanna fall out with mike," I awkwardly said.
"But he shouldn't have done that!" Billie said annoyed. Not at me, but just to me annoyed. I saw that Billie was more pissed off on my behalf than his own.
"Okay, so what do we do?"
"Confront him of course,"
"How?"
"Come on," he said grabbing my hand and opening the bedroom door. I quickly looked at him questionably as he paused. "What?"
"Now?"
"Yeah? We'll go knock on his door and-"
"-don't you think you should wait for him to wake up?"
"Well... yeah? But-"
"-can't we just go downstairs and make some pancakes?" I suggested. Billie bit his bottom lip for a moment thinking before he smiled.
"Alright fine," He grinned opening the bedroom door as we walked out the bedroom. "But only for the pancakes! Not for mike,"
~
"There's the last one," I said to Billie as I slipped the last pancake out of the pan and onto the stack on his plait.
He dug straight in before looking up at me smiling and saying thank you with his mouth full of pancake. Which made me laugh a whole ton, but he just went back to eating.
I went and sat beside him on the table as I began to eat my own too.
I didn't exactly know what the plan was with mike. I guess we were just gonna confront him and see what he had to say.
"I smell pancakes!" We heard a voice shout before the door opened.
"Hi Tre," I smiled.
"Where's mine?" He pouted sadly.
"You wasn't up?" I shrugged.
"So I don't have any!?"
"I'm afraid not,"
"Fine," he said as he walked past the table over to where I made the pancakes. "Make my own." He muttered.
"Where's mike?" Billie asked Tre with his mouthful.
"He's coming down in a minute," Tre said not turning around as he began to make his first pancake.
"He needs to hurry up," Billie mumbled.
"Is he in trouble?" Tre asked.
"Damn fucking right he's in trouble," Billie replied.
"Who's in trouble?" Someone else said. Billie, Tre and I turned our heads to see mike. His hair was wet but he was changed. I'm guessing he must have just had a shower or something.
"You are," Billie said.
"Why am I?"
"I'll tell you after I finish my pancakes," Billie said to him before turning back around and eating his breakfast again. Mike looked over at me with a confused look, I just sorta rotated myself forward to the table again and carried on eating mine.
"Can someone tell me what I've done?" Mike said confused as he walked over and sat down on the other side of the table.
Tre placed a plait in front of him as he slipped some pancakes onto it humming some sort of tune. Before he turned around and began to make his own.
"Thanks, Tre," Mike thanked him turning to Tre. Tre just simply nodded before carrying on cooking.
We all sort of ate in silence. The only thing I could hear was Tre humming. I think that's all we could hear.
"What tune is that from?" I finally asked him. Tre turned his head to look at me.
"I made it up earlier on, but now it's stuck in my head,"
"You should write it down and do it on the drums," I suggested.
"Step ahead of you Marshy," he said placing a plait down on the free spot at the table next to mike before he put his pancakes onto it and finally sat down as we all sat.
Billie next to me, Tre across from me. And mike beside Tre, mike across from Billie.
"So much tension at the table," Tre commented with his mouth full of food.
"You're telling me," Mike agreed, his mouth also full of food.
I swallowed the piece of pancake I had in my mouth. "Do all boys chat with their mouths full?"
"What?" Mike asked confused.
"You three all talking with your mouths full, it's gross,"
"Oh-" Tre said as he swallowed. "Is that better?" He joked.
"How hard was that?" I laughed.
"Alright," Billie said putting his knife and fork down on his empty plait as he looked up. "I've finished."
"So now can you tell me what I've done wrong?" Mike asked him.
"Alice?" Billie said with his eyes wide waiting for a reply. Mike immediately looked away from Billie trying to act confused.
"Alice? W-what do you mean Alice?"
"Alice?" Tre asked more confused.
"She left your room this morning? Any idea what that was about bud?"
"Billie, I don't know what you're on about."
"Are you serious?" Billie raised his voice a little, obviously annoyed. "I can't believe this,"
"I don't know what you're-"
"-you obviously slept with Alice last night mike stop acting dumb!" Billie finally shouted. Mike closed his mouth straight away, I think he was sort of at a loss for words in what to say.
"You did?" Tre asked finally.
"Well- yeah I did," he admitted in an ashamed tone, "but I never planned on that part happening!"
"So one thing lead to another?" Billie asked sarcastically.
"Yes! Exactly that!"
"Well, what were you doing with her in the first place!? Mike, Marsha fell out with Alice for you! Have you forgotten about that or something?"
"No Billie I haven't! And she actually told me she felt really bad about that whole thing!"
"Really? Cause y'know one person who she hasn't told that? Marsha!"
"Guys chill out," Tre said quickly looking up from his plait.
The both of them seemed to of ignored Tres comment as they carried on.
"Well actually she was going to at the mall with Casey but she was scared and we interrupted her when she was about to!"
"Okay don't need to put emphasis on ever word!" Billie said mocking him.
"I'm doing it to exaggerate!"
"I think you do that just fine with out the emphasis!"
"Guys," Tre said again, but it was no use as they carried on bickering.
"Well, I don't see why you're so bothered!" Mike shouted at him. "It's my life!"
"You even said that you admit she didn't like our band and she only talked about herself! What about Those thoughts and things you said mike? Hmm! Where did they all go!"
"They went when I realised I was wrong about her!"
"Guys," Tre said begging to raise his voice from his normal tone, but it wasn't shouting so it didn't at all match the tone that Billie and Mike were using across the table to one another.
"How do you just realise you were wrong!?" Billie asked annoyed. "She either always thinks about herself or she never did! Which one was it!"
"I was just wrong that was all!"
"Guys!" Tre finally shouted Over them. They both quickly looked away from one another and to Tre surprised. "Can you guys not do this at the table! I'm trying to eat my fucking pancakes man."
"Sorry Tre," Billie apologised.
"Yeah, sorry Tre," Mike said afterwards, in a way to annoy Billie by mocking his apology.
"I swear to got Pritchard," Billie warned.
"Here," I said finally speaking up. "I've finished, c'mon bill lets go upstairs," I said standing up out my chair. Billie said nothing but stood up too as he stared at Mike, who stared back at him, I walked away from the table as Billie followed giving mike one last glance before we headed up the stairs and into our room.
He sat straight down on the bed and ran his fingers through his messy red hair.
"You okay?" I asked him concerned.
"Yeah, I'm sorry I got so angry,"
"Nah, don't worry about it," I said as I sat down beside him. "It's all good, I mean I've seen you angry before."
"Yeah, I guess you have,"
"Thanks for- well I don't know you kinda stuck up for me there too, thanks for that," I smiled looking over to him, he looked at me back before softly smiling as he laughed a little.
"Course," he whispered. "Do I get a reward for it?"
"What more could you want? I made your pancakes?"
"I don't know... something else," he suggested.
"Like?"
"Don't be difficult Marsha y'know what I mean," he sighed.
I laughed a bit, "I know I do, it's just funny to see you get annoyed,"
