[34] oh my god
I'm just warning you guys now, this is gonna be one big chapter. Imma fit like two mother fuckers in this bitch. Probably something like over five thousand words... I don't know if that's a lot for you guys but most of my chapters are only a thousand. Maybe two or three if I'm feeling it lmao.
I sat on a chair next to Mike's hospital bed, it was just me and him. I didn't really have a lot of moments of just me and Mike to be honest. Which completely sucks. Billie and Tre were at their houses. I was going to be seeing Billie later on anyway.
Mike had been in the hospital for a couple of days now, and I and Tre had visited him daily. Sometimes Tre would ring me up when he was bored and asked if I fancied making a second trip. Which I would always say yes to. But it felt like you sort of had to drag Billie here, he was still angry at Mike and I could tell. I mean it was obvious, Mike and Tre could see it.
"He's just seemed off with me since I've been in this place," Mike sighed hopelessly looking over at me. I tried to smile at him. "He's really angry at me, I can feel the tension when he walks into the room, he only doesn't say anything about it because he doesn't want to anger you."
"I know it sucks when Billies angry at you. Because when he's angry he's really scary. But he's only angry because he cares. Billie only ever gets angry at me because he cares. But he was really worried about you. You should have seen how fast he got off me when he heard something was going on with you I-" Mike cut me off wide-eyed.
"-got off you?"
"Erm, anyway! Moving on," I said nervously brushing that conversation away. "Once we got into your room. He liked... He dived over to you. And he was really worried. And in the waiting room, it was horrible. Tre was sitting still and Billie wouldn't sit down." I laughed as he joined in. Which made me kinda feel better. "He's just scared to lose you. That's all." I shrugged.
Mike nodded understandingly. "I just hope he doesn't stay angry at me forever."
"He won't, you both are like brothers."
"Yeah..." suddenly the door into Mike's hospital room was opened before I turned around.
"Hey dudes." Tre smiled rushing to a seat. It was just Tre, No Billie by his side. But what can I say, I wasn't even surprised at this point.
"Hey Tre." We both greeted warmly.
"Where's... where's Billie?" I asked him. Although I wasn't surprised, he had said he would come today. But he obviously hadn't.
"He said that he's got to help his mom with something or whatever today, so he would come to stop by tomorrow on his own," Tre told me.
Help his mom? Is he serious, he's got to be lying.
"Ah, that's okay." Mike shrugged.
"Seen any hot women yet Mike?" Tre elbowed him.
"Tre this is a hospital, not high school," Mike said looking over at him half confused and half laughing.
"Well yeah but-"
"-I mean my nurse is pretty hot." Mike shrugged.
"I'm gonna go guys. I'll see you tomorrow if I can." I said to Mike as I got up and grabbed my phone. They both nodded and said goodbye as they finished off their own conversation.
I left the hospital and caught the bus back since I didn't exactly drive here.
Getting off the bus round Billies house, I wanted to see if he was helping his mom or if he had just lied because he was still angry at Mike. So I went over to his house and knocked on his door sort of pissed off, Mike's his friend?
The door opened to reveal Billie, his red hair a mess and honestly looked as if he had just woken. He stood in front of me in his plaid boxers rubbing his eyes.
"How's helping your mom going?" I asked him bluntly.
"Oh- erm- y'know.... good yeah actually- I just finished."
"Really?"
"...yeah?"
"Okay, where is your mom?"
"Shopping..."
"What did you help her with Billie?"
He began to stutter for words rubbing the back of his neck looking around. Staring anywhere apart from me really. "Y'know- just... just erm- we'll y'know...... just...... things."
"Seriously?"
"....yeah...."
"Billie, what the fuck?"
"Alright fine." He sighed moving from the door as I came in, I shut the door behind me as we walked into his living room and sat on his sofa.
"Mike's in hospital Billie and you won't even go see him?"
"It's his own fault he's in there!"
"Not the point!"
He sighed. Again, and ran his hand through his hair looking at the floor.
"Billie Joe," I sighed looking at him. "Mike's your friend. I understand he did something stupid and trust me, me and Tre and angry about it. But you can't sit and argue with someone laying in a hospital bed with tubes going in them, can you? It's not a fair argument."
"I can grab the tubes and strangle him with them."
I nudged him with my arm, he was obviously joking but I knew he was pissed.
"Why are you so angry... if you've done it too?"
He looked up at me.... kinda guilty now instead of angry and just shrugged.
"Can we just stop talking about this?" He asked me after a while of silence. I nodded agreeing, I didn't wanna argue with Billie. Cause he was pissing me off and I think if he said anything else I would have probably snapped again.
"My moms going out tonight," I said to him changing subjects. "I'm not quite sure where. She's off tonight but she just told me she's going out if you wanna come over and stop the night?"
"Sure- yeah sure."
"Awesome, now get changed for goodness sakes Billie you're still in your boxers. Then, we can go over to mine... she'll be leaving around eight."
He nodded and stood up before making his way to his room to get ready.
He came back down with some skinny black ripped jeans and a loose black band top. we talked for a few hours then we left for mine. By the time we reached mine my mom's car wasn't in the driveway. I turned to Billie and told him that that meant my mom had gone out, as I unlocked the door and we headed upstairs to my room.
"I don't understand where she's gone? She doesn't have work tonight and she never goes anywhere on her days off." I shrugged sitting down on my bed next to Billie who had already made himself at home and sat down.
"Maybe she's on a date or something."
I burst out laughing, "no, my mom doesn't go on dates. She's never been interested in men since my dad."
"Well, you never know?" He shrugged.
"No, no way. She's not on a date I know she's not."
~
"Babe will you chill? She's fine." Billie repeated as he laid in my bed, although I however was pacing around the room and going back to the curtains just to look around outside to see if I could see my moms car. It was nearly one in the fucking morning and she never goes out. Somethings happened.
"Billie I'm telling you she's dead," I said looking out the window.
"Marsha chill out, she's fine she's probably just having a good time."
"She's not even answering her phone," I said frustrated with the call going to voice mail once again. chucking it over on the bed with Billie.
"Chill out!"
"I can't! I'm telling you she's been kidnapped!"
"Is it kidnapped when she's an adult?"
"Billie not the time!"
"Sorry."
I shut the curtains and sat down at the end of my bed looking over at Billie worried.
"Aww, come here." He said sitting up as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a warm hug. I loved his hugs, they were tight and warm and made me feel better about anything. I hugged him back still sort of worrying.
Suddenly I heard the front door open and someone stumble in. I pulled away from Billies hug and looked at him wide-eyed.
"See? She's back,"
"Shhh!" I said to him shoving my index finger to his lips to shut him up while I tried to listen.
We both went quiet as I heard my mom talk to someone downstairs, Billie began to hum as I looked over at him quickly.
"Sorry, I'll be quiet." He whispered as I turned back away from him.
"She's talking to someone."
"She's probably just drunk talking to herself,"
"You think?"
"Yeah totally. Everyone mumbles to themself when they're drunk."
"I don't!"
"You do!"
"Do not!"
"Do t-"
"-shh!!" I said shushing him again, I heard my mom as she began to stumble up the stairs. She was talking to a man... I could hear a male voice replying to her. I looked over at Billie surprised and he looked at me then same. "She's with a man," I whispered, he nodded as we carried on listening.
I heard her laughing, but I couldn't exactly make a lot of sense of what they were saying until I heard a door shut and realised they had gone into my mom's room.
"Dude she brought a man home!?" I whispered looking over at Billie.
"They aren't gonna.... do anything.... are they?" Billie asked.
Oh my god where they?
"I don't think so, no-no. My moms not like that."
Billie nodded. "Okay cool." He sat back down on my bed as I shrugged and climbed in next to him.
"How come I've never seen your stepdad?" I asked Billie. I knew he had one, and I had been at Billies many times and talked to his mom. But I've never actually come across his stepdad.
"He works away." He shrugged. "He works like far... which is cool since I can't stand the guy. And sometimes he'll come home for special events."
"Like?"
"Like Christmas. Y'know how it's Christmas soon? well he comes home that week and stays home. But I normally don't spend Christmas at home."
"You don't!?"
"No, I and Mike spend it at Tre's."
"What about Tre's mom and dad? Are they just Fine with that?"
He looked at me and laughed. "Tre lives on his own Marsha."
"He does!?"
"Yeah! What- you didn't know that?"
"No! I mean- I've been to his house and I just thought his mom and dad were working or something I didn't know he lived on his own!?"
"Yeah, Mike normally stops over at Tre's so he basically lives there too. But I'll spend the night at Tre's and wake up at Christmas with them, then later on, I'll go say hi to my mom, give her her presents. Say hi to my stepdad for my mom, get my presents and go back to Tre's house." He explained.
"Your moms fine with that?"
"Yeah, well she has my stepdad I guess so y'know. Actually y'know what- you should totally join us."
"What do you mean?" I asked him knitting my eyebrows in confusion.
"Well I mean- this Christmas you should spend the night with us at Tre's."
"But Billie what about my mom? She lives on her own when I'm not around and-"
"-well I mean she's got a dude in her room right now you don't know what fun she was having while you and I were gone for the week." He teased.
"Oh my god, you're right."
"I'm always right."
"No, you're n-"
"-Wait wait!" He said now shushing me. "Do you- can you hear that?" He whispered over to me. We both went silent. I looked over at him wide-eyed again for the millionth time that night with my mouth open as I heard it.
"Oh my god! Shut up shut up shut up!" I shouted jumping up out of bed covering my ears, trying my absolute hardest to block out my own mother moaning. Billie too was covering his ears in absolute terror. I had never had to deal with this sort of stuff since I had grown up with a single mother and when my dad was around I wasn't exactly staying up late with Billie Joe Armstrong.
"Make it stop!" He shouted.
"I can't I can't!"
"AHGG!!"
"Right, that's it!" I shouted running over to my pair of vans on the floor as I quickly put them on. Billie looked over at me confused humming to block out the sound as he still covered his ears. "Put your shoes on!"
"Okay okay!" He shouted rushing over to his converse next to the bed. Once we got our shoes on I basically ripped opened the curtains and opened the window rushing Billie out of it, as I grabbed my phone and followed behind shutting it.
We climbed down the tree and reached the grass, he looked over at me catching his breath as I was struggling to catch mine. We both bursted out laughing not exactly believing what had just happened.
"Come on," he laughed taking my hand and interwinding his fingers with mine. "I think we should stop at mine tonight instead, my moms on a night shift." He explained to me, holding my hand as we walked off what was my property and began to walk down the streets. It was dark, I mean it was half one in the morning. The street lights were on but were far from each other.
Once we finally reached Billies he unlocked the door and we headed to his room.
"That was terrifying, I'm sorry you had to hear that." I laughed as we both took our shoes off and put them next to his closet.
"I never thought I would hear that from your mom..." he laughed as he got into his bed. I joined him and laughed too.
"Yeah... I've never exactly heard that from her either."
"I mean- Y'know I knew I would hear it from you at some point, but-" I shoved him quickly as he busted out laughing at himself. "What?" He smiled innocently. I rolled my eyes and turned over.
"Goodnight Beej."
"Goodnight love."
I smiled slightly at what he said as I felt him arm run around my waist and pull me close to him so he was hugging me, I melted into his touch and turned around hugging him too, and soon enough fell asleep in his arms.
~
"Guess who's back!!" I heard a voice say as I and Billie quickly jumped up into a sitting position in his bed after being woken up. My eyes landed on Mike and Tre, Mike innocently smiling after waking us up.
"You're out of the hospital!" I smiled getting up and hugging him. He picked me up as he hugged me and twirled me around happily and then put me down.
"I've been in there for fucking ages it's about time." He laughed.
"How on earth did you guys get in," Billie said still sat up in his bed rubbing his eyes, his red hair a mess.
"Your mom let us in," Tre explained as he jumped on the bed next to Billie over the covers.
"I've got to tell her to stop letting you guys in at stupid o'clock in the morning." He laughed.
"BJ it's eleven." Mike Laughed.
"It is!?" He said looking over at the digital clock sat on his dresser. "Oh shit, it is."
"Come on get your lazy ass out of bed we have practice!" Tre shouted pulling the pillow from behind Billie as he began to whack him with it, Billie guarded himself with his arms screaming at Tre to stop. Finally, Billie grabbed another pillow and they began just sort of having a pillow fight.
"I think we should erm- leave them to it." Mike laughed looking over at me. As I quickly nodded and agreed as I and Mike headed downstairs, passed his mom. Said morning and went into his basement.
Mike picked up his bass guitar as he strapped it on. "Man I haven't held this baby in forever."
"OKAY OKAY BILLIE IM SORRY!" We heard Tre shout from upstairs. We both just looked at each other and chuckled. "JUST GET OFF ME YOU WIN YOU WIN!!"
"THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT BITCH!" Billie shouted as we heard them both head downstairs. We tried to stop laughing as Billie quickly walked into the room and smiled sweetly. "Hey, guys."
Tre followed behind looking absolutely terrified. "Billie nearly killed me!"
"Did not! Get behind your drums!"
Tre quickly ran and took his seat swiftly behind his set of drums picking up the two drum sticks. I took my seat where I normally did and Billie got up too and began to practice.
I listened to them as they went over some songs I had already heard them play a million times.
After they finished, we all headed out into Billies back garden, since it was hot outside and we were getting fed up indoors.
"There's no way you heard your own mom banging a man!" Tre snorted as we all sat on the grass. I and Billie nodded trying to catch our breath as Mike was holding on to Tre hollering in laughter.
"But I don't even know who it was!" I said. "She's never been interested in men after my dad. I mean I'm happy for her don't get me wrong, but she never told me she was seeing anyone else."
"Maybe she just got bored of being single." Billie shrugged.
"Yeah," Mike nodded. "Happens y'know."
"Yeah, you'd know." Tre laughed shoving him since he was now the only single one in the group as Tre and Casey had become a thing.
"Shut up," Mike said shoving him back.
"Well I mean you could have still had Alice." Billie shrugged.
"Are you kidding! She never even listened to me when I would talk to her."
"Yeah me too bud." I laughed. "I I guess that's just how she is, no one can really change her. She'll just have to figure out one day it's always nice to be a good listener as well as talking a whole bunch."
"I can't believe you both fell out over her," Billie said reminding them of the time they both got into an argument over Alice.
"I mean she was nice at first." Mike shrugged.
"She hasn't even tried to speak to me since we fell out y'know," I said.
"Who needs her!" Tre smiled pushing me playfully. I nodded and admitted he was right.
"Yeah, you got us." Billie joined in.
"Yeah,"
"Hey has your mom tried to get into contact with you at all today?" Billie asked. I shook my head no.
"No, she must have just thought I went out earlier this morning I guess."
"Are you gonna tell her you heard?" Tre asked.
"Yeah, course I am,"
"Don't do that!" Mike cringed. Billie nodded in agreement as Tre pulled a face similar to Mike's.
"Why? Are you not suppose to tell your parents when you hear them?"
"No!" Billie laughed.
"Well, what do you do?"
"Pretend you never heard it and pray to got you never hear it again!" Tre shouted laughing like it was obvious, but to me it wasn't.
"Hey hey, give her breakthrough. She's never had to deal with this." Billie chuckled putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Well here is a heads up. Act like you never heard anything. Think about this marshy," Tre said budging up closer to me. "Do you really wanna have a conversation about your very own mothers sex life?"
I paused thinking. "...Well no but-"
"-there!" Mike finished for me.
"But I wanna know who it was with! Like have I got a stepdad soon I'm gonna have to worry about? I wanna know if she just brought a random man home drunk or if she's got a thing with this guy."
"Okay and say this dude is your moms boyfriend," Billie said spitballing, "What are you gonna do?"
"Well," I shrugged cluelessly as I sat silently. I tried to think of something to say, "...I don't know."
"Would you be angry?" Mike asked looking over at me.
I shook my head quickly, I always let my mom know from the start I would never be angry for moving on. "No, course not. I just- I mean... I'll be happy for her. Cause then at least I won't be her only thing to worry about... meaning I can go out more and all this and that because I'm not her only company."
"Hey if this guy is your new dad you should see if you can join us on Christmas!" Tre smiled, Mike nodded quickly in agreement.
"You think?"
"That would be awesome!" Mike smiled.
"I said this to her earlier! They're right it would be awesome!" Billie said elbowing me, I looked over at him as he smiled widely.
"You think she'll let me spend Christmas with three guys?"
"Just say you're spending the night with some friends and you'll come to see her later on Christmas Day." Mike shrugged like it was easy to lie to parents. And I guess it was, as much as I loved my mom. She was easy to lie to. It wasn't hard to get away with things, I mean for fuck sake Billies been stopping at my house about every night now, sneaking into my room or I've been sleeping at his.
"It'll be great! Come on you got to bring it up to your mom soon. Just give her time to think about it and bribe her over." Billie said singing an arm around me.
I nodded and smiled. "Yeah. Yeah, I can do that."
They all cheered happily almost like a bunch of little children. Although Christmas wasn't close, I guess it wasn't far either.
"Marsha!" A female voice shouted, I looked up at the top of the garden to see Ollie.
"Yeah?"
"Your moms on the phone dear, she wants to speak to you."
"Oh fuck," I muttered as I lifted myself up and out of Billies arm.
"Oooh, you're in trouble!" Tre shouted laughing as he got up too.
"Someone's gonna get grounded!" Mike joined in as Billie shoved him.
"Dude shut up!"
I reached the top of the garden as I followed Ollie into the kitchen and she picked up the house phone off of the counter and passed it over to me, I brought it up to my ear hearing silence on the line. So I decided to obviously say something.
"Hello?"
"Hey Marsha, I was just checking where you were. You weren't here this morning when I checked for you in your room,"
"Oh hi mom, I went out early over to Billies to listen to his band practice- wait did you say you checked for me?"
"Oh- yeah- no I was just- I was gonna- erm- I was gonna see if you wanted breakfast." She lied. I knew why she was checking on me, so I didn't run into her new lover... but I won't lie, I did enjoy this.
"Breakfast?" I asked confused. "You never ask me if I want breakfast?"
"Oh- well you know, thought it would be nice." She laughed nervously as I nodded with the phone in my hand, I looked over at Billie who cringed lightly at me. I'm guessing Mike and Tre had moved themselves to the other room and Ollie wasn't in here anymore either.
"Okay mom, is that all?"
"Actually I was wondering if you would come back home.... there's- erm- someone here I think you should meet." I quickly looked over at Billie wide-eyed.
"What?" He whispered.
I looked at him then away then took them away from my ear and covered the speakers. "She says she wants me to meet someone back home."
He started laughing as I put the phone back to my ear.
"Erm, I'm with Billie right now- we had things planned." I lied.
"That's fine, just invite Billie over too."
"Oh, o-okay. I'll be over in ten." I said ending the call.
"How did it go?" Billie asked.
"Terrible- she wants me to meet her boyfriend I'm telling you!"
"Well, you told her you had things planned with me, didn't you? What did she say to that?"
"She just said to bring you! She really wants me to meet this guy and I mean- I know I've always said I'll never be mad at her but I don't know if I'm like mentally ready to have a dude in the house."
"Why not?"
"Well- I walk around in my towel after I've got out the shower for ages, I- I like to have the house to myself when my moms out, I leave my shit everywhere. Like girl things."
"Girl things?" He asked me confused.
I rolled my eyes. "Like tampons, and pants and bras and shit you nimrod."
"Oh- oh right, hey it'll be fine. Okay?" He smiled as he wrapped an arm around me. "I'm sure the guys nice. And like you've said to me before: you want your mom to have her own life? Think about how much unnosy she'll be in yours now?"
"Oh my god, what if she just doesn't want anything to do with me!?" I said turning to him worried as his arm dropped from my shoulder.
"No no that's not what I meant!"
"But what if she just doesn't care about me anymore?"
"Won't you prefer her being less into your life?"
"Yes but not forgetting me!"
"Oh Marsha, she won't forget you!"
"Hey dudes!" Tre shouted bouncing into the room as Mike followed behind eagerly like a shadow.
"How'd it go?" He asked. I cringed to him and shook my head sideways meaning not good at all. "Ahhh dang. What happened?"
"She wants her to meet her fuck buddy." Billie laughed, I punched him on his arm as the grin on his face faded. "Ow!"
"They only did it once!"
"Now that's not true Marsha you don't know how many times they did it while you were away," Mike mentioned.
"But-" Tre cut me off.
"Yeah, Marshy- what if she's pregnant!?"
"Shut up shut up shut up!!" I shouted covering my ears as I grabbed Billie and pulled us through his front door away from the two boys laughing.
We began to walk to my house, I was quiet. I was nervous, I mostly just sort of fidgeted in my hands and looked around.
"Chill, I'm sure he's a nice guy."
"What if he's not Bill? What if he's like your stepdad?"
"What an asshole?" He laughed.
"Yes! What do I do then?"
"Just come move in with me," he joked nudging me, Although I think he was joking. I laughed it off as we reached mine, but paused on the front doorstep with my hand sort of hovering over the door handle and shaking a little as I looked over at Billie, who simply just sighed and rolled his eyes as he walked in front of me and opened the door being the first to walk into my house as I followed behind embarrassed but thankful.
"Marsha dear is that you?" My mom shouted from the living room to me as Billie and I took our shoes off and left them at the front door.
"Yes mum, I'm coming through with Billie now."
I looked over at Billie nervously, and he extended his hand out to me offering for me to hold it with a little smile on his face. I smiled back thankful I had him as I keenly took his hand and we walked into the front living room. Once I walked in I saw my mom on the chair she always sat on, an old fashioned black recliner chair that was in the corner of the room opposite the TV. She always liked that spot because she said she had the best view of the Television. I looked around the room, to see on the sofa sat very nervously was a man. He had fair blonde hair, he was fidgeting in his hands nervously like I had been when I was on the way here, he looked calm but yet scared and round abouts my moms age.
"Hey, Billie joe." My mom smiled, Billie said hi and waved over to her.
I watched as her gaze moved down to our hands, which we were holding. I completely forgot she wasn't aware of us as I let go of his handfast like a hot rock. She looked back up at me with a smile. "Well, what's going on here?"
"N-nothing!"
"So I and Ollie have suspected right then huh?" She teased, hold up. Why was she teasing me her fuck buddy- boyfriend? Even, was sat on mine and her sofa. Oh my god, I hope they didn't do anything on the sofa. No, my moms not an animal. Well-
"Stop! You wanted me over here." I reminded. She smiled softly and nodded.
"Marsha, I want you to meet someone. This is Dylan." My mom said motioning with her hand over to the dude sat on the sofa. He looked up at me and smiled nervously. I could tell he was nervous by his body language. Dead give away. And I sort of began to feel, bad?
"Hi." I smiled extending a hand out for him to shake.
"Hey." He said back politely shaking my hand. I then looked back over at my mom to actually justify who the fuck Dylan is and why he's sat on our sofa.
"Hey," Billie said to him, sort of lifting his hand, not waving it or anything just awkwardly lifting it and half-smiling, and Dylan did the same. Which made me laugh a bit.
"Dylan and I have erm... been seeing each other for a while. And I wanted to wait until I knew it was serious to tell you." My mom said.
"Oh, that's cool."
"Is that it? You're not mad or?" She looked surprised.
I shook my head. "I'm not mad why would I be?"
"I just was slightly scared you would be angry."
"No, I'm happy for you."
She smiled. "Thank you, Marsha." I nodded my head. "Well I just wanted to let you know who Dylan was, he'll obviously be coming around a lot too, you know that right."
What!? No, I did not know that.
"Course I know that." I laughed.
"Okay good, I just wanted to let you know who he was so you didn't get alarmed or anything. But he is a very sweet man and He's been very excited to meet you." She smiled looking over at Dylan and then at me. He didn't seem very excited... more scared. Almost intimidated of me. Not like in a oh-my-god-she-could-seriously-Hurt-me way. But more in a well-this-is-the-women's-daughter-who-I-have-chosen-to-date-and-if-she-doesn't-like-me-I-loose-all-chance sort of way. Which made me feel like he did care about my mom.
I wrapped up the conversation and let my mom, and now Dylan, know me and Billie would be heading upstairs to my room and she nodded, so we left the awkwardness of the room to them two and headed into mine.
"That dude looks like he was gonna shit himself." Billie laughed jumping over and sitting on my bed.
"I know!" I laughed joining him. "He seemed so nervous."
"Yeah, you wouldn't think he's the type of guy to make your mom scream the way she did,"
"Stop!" I laughed playfully pushing him. He grabbed me and laughed pulling me on to his lap and hugging me, I rested my head on his shoulder hugging him back.
"Am I suppose to call him Dad or something now?" I asked Billie confused, my chin still resting on his shoulder and I was still hugging him. I felt his shoulder shrug.
"I dunno,"
"What do you call your stepdad?"
"Just Brad."
"That's his name?"
"I know- what a basic name. Sounds like the type of guy just to be an ass hole and-"
"-no Billie I mean that's his name as in you just call him by his first name." I laughed moving my head from off of his shoulder and in front of him. My arms still around his shoulders and I was still on his lap.
"Oh," he chuckled. "Yeah, I just call him by his first name. But he hates that, but I hate him."
"But I don't hate Dylan?"
"Well I mean he's not officially your step dad or anything until he like adopts you or your mom and him get married I think," Billie said guessing. "So I would think you just call him Dylan."
I nodded, taking notes in my head actually listening to Billie for once.
"Thanks Billie, god what would I do without you aye?" I smiled pushing myself off his lap and sitting back on the bed next to him.
"I think that sometimes," he shrugged. I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. Sometimes he confused me. Like when he said earlier I could just move in with him if I didn't like Dylan. I couldn't split the idea between he was joking or he was being for real.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"I don't know," he shrugged. "I just sometimes think if I'm a bad influence In your life or not, y'know?"
"What- no Billie you're not a bad influence not at all," I said resting my head on his shoulder.
"I know- I mean well I don't y'know but. I mean you even said I was."
"I did? When?"
"When we jumped into the sea in our underwear I think it was."
"Billie," I laughed looking up at him into his eyes. "Bad doesn't mean bad. I mean- In that case, it doesn't. I've just always grown up with boring people around me, like- like Alice! Alice, and my mom, Casey was always out of fun ideas, and that's it really. So when you stroll into my life sneaking into my room at stupid in the morning or I'm sneaking you through my window or we're hanging out at the beach in the dark and jumping into the sea nearly naked, or on the field getting drunk or high that's just different to me. You're not a bad person, y'know that right?"
He nodded, "Yeah, yeah I'm just being silly." But there was something in his eyes that told me he really did think he was a bad person. And at that moment his eyes spoke louder than his words. Was that how it was for him when he saw through me? Was this what it's like? He looked down.
"Billie," I whispered, as I brought his head back up gently with my hand. "You are not a bad person. You're the most fun, interesting, funniest, amazing person I know. And all the time I've known you has been the most fun times I've ever had. I wouldn't trade any of those stupid moments with you for anything in this world. You make life not so boring, and before you strolled into town my life was as basic as it gets. Y'know that- that: eat, school, sleep, repeat shit. And I love how you've come into my life and made everything so chaotic and fun."
He smiled, he smiled wide, his smile was genuine. And I knew that because of his eyes- I'm getting good at this. "You mean that?"
"Of course I do Billie. Why would you be a bad person?"
"Well I don't know," he shrugged looking away. "I just get told it a lot."
"By?"
"Teachers, police, parents, Brad, siblings, y'know that shit."
"You're not bad you're just chaotic. And no one can handle you the way me, Tre and Mike do," I smiled, "You're worth whatever chaos you bring to the mother fucking table Billie, and- and Brad may not know it," I said Brad like it was a bad word to a kid, and that made him sort of choke up and giggle- like actually giggle. "And our teachers might not see that the police don't like to think it. But y'know who does see that?"
"Who?" He smiled.
"I do. Tre does, Mike does. So y'know what. Just fuck everyone else." I laughed.
"You're right- who am I kidding you're always right." He said pulling me tightly into a hug. Really tightly as he held me close embracing and laughing slightly. We held the position for a second before I pulled away and met eyes with him again.
"Now come on, we're going back to yours for the night. I do not wanna hear my mom moan ever again."
"You'll have to come back sometime." Billie laughed.
"I'll just move in with you as you said." I joked.
"I'd love it if you did y'know?" He smiled, which made me blush like we were still teenagers flirting. "What are you gonna say to your mom?" He asked.
I jumped off the bed and stood at the door with my hand on the door handle ready to open the door. "I'll just say to her I'm staying at yours for the night. She seems so in love with Dylan I bet she won't even process what I said."
"That won't work." He laughed looking at me like I was stupid.
"Watch," I opened the door. "Mom!" I shouted.
"Yes dear?"
"I'm stopping over at Billie Joes tonight, is that okay?"
"Yes dear, give me a text when you get there so I know you got there safe."
"Thank you!" I shouted shutting the door and looking over at Billie, who looked stunned. "See?"
"God, you really are fucking wife material ain't ya?" He smiled walking over to me as he pulled me in and kissed me on the head.
We headed downstairs and got our shoes on, I said goodbye to my mom... and Dylan. And we headed off shortly over to Billies place again for the night. Once we got there we went into Billies room to see Tre and Mike still here.
"You guys make yourself too comfortable here." I laughed as I joined Mike on Billies bed. Tre sat nice and cosy on Billies bean bag as Billie sat at his spinny desk chair. Not like spinning in it manically like Tre would but sort of just swaying back and forth in it as he spoke.
"My moms too nice to you guys."
"Your mom loves us," Mike said.
"Yeah no shit, why are you even still here?"
"Well, Tre didn't wanna go home." Mike laughed obviously winding Tre up.
"Shut up! It gets lonely when you live alone." He said sulking.
"Bro I've told you I'm gonna move in with you."
"You are!?" Billie said surprised as he looked over at Mike. Who nodded. "What!? How come Mike gets to move in with you!?" He said now looking over at Tre.
"What you wanna move in too?"
"Yeah! I mean no Brad- no mom- what!?"
Tre laughed slightly. "You can move in with me dude."
"I can!?"
"Yeah sure, why not."
"What about me!" Mike shouted.
"There's three bedrooms dude! One for you, one for Billie boy and one for me," he smiled. I sort of sat quietly as I watched them now discuss this arrangement.
"Well, I'm fucking moving in then," Billie said. "Mike when are you moving in?"
"This Saturday."
"It's Thursday- after tomorrow?" He asked, Mike nodded. "Okay, well I guess I'll have to talk to my mom and discuss it tomorrow night and-"
"-You've got to get permission from your mom?" I snorted, interrupting him mid-way through sentence. He looked over at me unimpressed. "Sorry sorry."
"Anyway, I'll talk to my mom tomorrow and move in Saturday." Billie smiled over at Tre. Tre looked more than happy. I guess it would get pretty lonely living by yourself. And poor Tre has no one to wind up, or annoy, or talk stupid too, or smoke with.
They literally just discussed Billie moving into his house so easily. And now he was gonna move in, well- if his mom let him.
"We split rent though," Tre sternly mentioned.
"That's cool, that's cool," Billie said. He then looked over at me. And so did the rest of them. Like they were waiting for me to answer something I didn't catch on to.
"What?"
"Well, are you joining?" Tre asked me.
"Joining in on what? did I miss something?"
"Not a fucking orgy Marsha, he means are you moving in too?" Mike laughed.
"Moving in- what- I mean-"
"-Come on! You said to me earlier you didn't wanna hear your mom having sex with Dylan!" Billie said reminding me.
"Dylan whose Dylan?" Tre asked.
"Just my moms-"
"-Her moms fuck buddy," Billie said cutting me off.
"Stop with that!"
"Okay okay!"
"Well- I don't know how she would feel about me moving in with a bunch of boys." I shrugged.
"Dude you're legally allowed to move out, she can't stop you," Mike said.
"Well yeah but- I mean-"
"-she's got Dylan now to keep her company too, so what's the harm?" Billie said.
"Fine!"
They all looked at me with big smiles.
"Really!?"
"Yes, I'll talk to her tomorrow. But if she says no-"
"-if she says no just do it anyway." Mike laughed.
"Yeah, you laughed at the fact that I wanted to talk about it to my mom but if your mom says no you're gonna carry on living with her and Dylannn," Billie teased as I kicked him with one of my legs hanging off his bed.
"Shut up Beej."
"Fine, I'm sorry."
"Well, I'll ask her. I'll bribe her. But I don't know how she would feel about it." I said.
"Okay cool, now will both of you leave my house?" Billie laughed referring to Tre and Mike. After a while of them, all bickering like children Billie had successfully pushed them through the front door with no help from me as I just sort of laughed to myself watching him. Which left me and Billie alone in his house as we headed back up to his room.
"Imagine living with you." Billie teased. "How gross."
"Shut up you would love to live with me."
"I would." He smiled, as his smirk turned into a genuine grin.
Wow, that's like three chapters. 7173 words. Awesome.
