[11] you
Billie Joe: do you wanna come round early? Like before Tre and Mike and your mom come around?
Me: in other words you want me to come early?
Billie Joe: in other words, I was wondering if you wanted to come around early.
Me: would you like me to come early? Or not.
Billie Joe: yes, :(.
I couldn't help but smile.
Me: Okay, I'll set off now. My mom says she'll come around about one-ish, what time are Tre and mike coming?
Billie Joe: round one too.
Me: Okay, I'll see you in ten minutes.
I was already ready, as I got up early for some strange reason today. my body just naturally woke me up at nine I guess. So I left the house to begin walking to Billies, but I couldn't help but think what Ollie had said yesterday. It just kept spinning in my head. I thought more about it now as I waked to theirs.
Billies right, you are pretty
I reached his house and knocked on the door, obviously expecting Billie to open it. So I was quite a surprise when I found myself wrapped again in the same arms of Ollie.
"Hey!" She smiled giving me a bear hug. I hugged her back and said hi as she walked me through the house. "Billies already in the back garden cutting grass with the lawnmower." She told me.
"Wow, that's surprising." I laughed.
"Yeah,"
we walked through the living room as she turned around to me. "He speaks a lot about you you know." She smiled. I felt myself blush, I also picked up how she didn't say 'y'know.'
"Really?"
"Yeah, I've never seen him act like this around a girl before," she laughed. "It's nice to see him happy."
I was about to say something, but she opened the back door. I saw Billie going up and down the garden with one of them old fashion push mowers. He was walking down the garden with it with his back facing me so he hasn't exactly realised I was here.
Ollie told me to sit down in a lawn chair at the top of the garden as she went to get something from out the house.
I watched Billie as the push mower had gotten stuck. he kicked it in frustration and began to still try and push it forward, but it wouldn't budge.
I laughed getting up out of my chair and walking over to him, I walked up behind him and spoke.
"That's not how you do it." I laughed as he jerked fast and turned around with wide eyes.
"You scared me," he laughed as he dropped the push mower and pulled me into a hug. This was new.
I took in his scent as I furrowed my face into his chest. We then pulled away.
"Well, how do you do it then smart Ass?" He asked me picking it back up from the floor.
"Here let me," I said taking the handle out of his hands, I pulled it back slightly then pushed it forward as it began to move again. He raised his eyebrows and took it back from my hands.
"How do you just do that stuff," he said confused as we walked back up to the garden with the push mower. He put it down and sat in the chair next to me.
We sat in silence, as I thought about what to say.
"This silence will be missed when Tre and Mike get here," Ollie laughed as she walked back into the back garden. I and Billie both laughed.
"So is your mom coming dear?" She asked me.
"Uh, yeah she's gonna come around one. She just needs to get ready and everything." I told her.
"I haven't seen her in so long," she laughed. "We use to be such good friends."
Round one o'clock
When it got to one, the first to come we're Tre and Mike. We heard the doorbell from the back garden.
I didn't know they had a doorbell? I had been knocking.
Billie asked me to come with him while he answered. Strange of him to ask, but I did. As we opened the door there was a smiling Tre and Mike there.
"Hey Marsha!" Tre shouted hugging me. I hugged him back as we all said hi, and went into the back garden. Mike and Tre sat with us while Billies mom was waiting for my mom inside.
"So Marsha, I heard that Billie stopped at yours a bit ago?" Tre brought up randomly, winking at me.
Billie pushed him. "I told you nothing happened!"
"I thought you would have been lying," Mike shrugged.
"Exactly! That's what I was thinking." Tre shouted in defence. Billie looked over at me rolling his eyes as I laughed.
"No, nothing happened," I confirmed.
After a while, my mom came, but I thought it was a bit odd that they both stayed inside. Billie got up and grabbed something from inside his shed. He came out with a smile and his hands behind his back. Tre and Mike were having a game of swingball hitting it back and forth between each other, sometimes arguing.
I sat in my seat looking at Billie as he got closer.
"What have you Got Beej?" I asked him curiously getting up from my seat, I went to look behind his back as he moved.
"Nothing," he smiled mischievously.
"Show me!" I laughed trying to look behind his back again.
He brought forward a football and placed it on the floor.
"You play football?" I asked, shocked.
"Do I fuck, but I can kick it," he smiled kicking it gently over to me. We passed it back and forth for a while, talking and giggling.
"Don't you think it's lame how some boys really find entertainment from kicking a sphere back and forth?" He laughed slightly. Passing it over to me again.
"I never got it. I wanted to be that one girl who could play football so all the boys would take an interest in me, but I shortly gave up getting angry with it."
He chuckled. "Of course."
"What?" I laughed.
"You've got the cutest laugh y'know?" He said randomly, looking up at me and kicking the ball back over to me.
"Shut up!" I shouted to him playfully.
"You do!"
"I'll kick this ball at you, hard." I threatened.
"Ooh I'm so scared!" He teased dancing around. I booted the ball over to him as it hit him in the stomach. I watched him groan as he fell to the floor holding his stomach.
"Billie!" I shouted running over to him. I kneeled by his side worried. "Are you okay!?"
He groaned closing his eyes holding his stomach.
"Ah man, I'm sorry Beej I didn't mean to hurt you." I laughed slightly grabbing his arm which was still wrapped around his stomach.
"You're so difficult." He laughed, but his voice was deep as he was still in pain.
"What do you mean?" I asked letting go of his arm.
He got up slightly sitting next to me holding his stomach still. "I compliment your laugh, calling it cute and you wind me!"
I laughed as I rested my forehead on to his shoulder. I felt him tense up at first from the shock but he very quickly stopped, Like he didn't want me to get the wrong idea and move my head. He let his stomach go as he put an arm around me, I looked up at him. He smiled softly at me.
"I'm sorry Billie." I smiled innocently. "I really didn't mean to hurt you. I was just being playful I didn't realise I could kick it that hard." I admitted.
He chuckled a little. "Remind me never to play football and flirt with you again."
Flirt? Is that what he was doing? Is that what's happening right now?
"Kiss!" I heard mike shout. Billie quickly let go of me moving his arm as I shuffled a bit away from him, the both of us embarrassed.
"Shut up you bellend!" Billie laughed getting up and running to him, I watched as Billie chased mike around the garden.
Sometimes Billie was a child, he reminded me a lot of a child. He was always laughing at stupid jokes, making stupid jokes, running around like he was still waiting for puberty to hit, and the crooked smile was just a flash of his innocence.
But other times, like when I was on top of him, or he had his arm around me, or we were hugging in my bed; he felt mature. But I could never decide which side of him I liked more.
Once Billie had finally tackled Mike to the ground, and Tre had joined in, my mom and Ollie had come out. Standing at the top of the garden. Laughing at the boys. Billie hadn't realised until she spoke.
"What's going on here?" Ollie laughed.
"Marsha and Billie were about to kiss and mike ruined it!" Tre shouted. As if he was telling on him.
"N-no! That's not true!" Billie jumped up quickly shouting to Tre.
"You were was you!?" His mom teased.
I went red as my mom looked over at me, wiggling her eyebrows. Made me feel sort of uncomfortable when she did that.
Once they had stopped and gone back inside, Mike and Tre back to their game of swingball. I and Billie sat quietly on the chairs at the top of the garden, watching them.
"They're like kids." Billie laughed. I looked over at him. "What? They are!"
"Billie your just as immature as them!"
"That is not true! I am very mature!"
"No, your not. You're just like a child."
"I am not like a child. A child wouldn't have done half the things I've done y'know!" He protested quickly.
I did worry sometimes. About what was going to come out of mine and billies friendship. Or if anything at all would come out of it, would it just be me and him being friends forever.
Did I want something to come out of it? I thought about being in a relationship with him. Being like this with him, but with all the added details like dates and stuff.
And I thought about just staying friends with him. Could I honestly watch him be with a girl and kiss her and not feel the feeling of wanting it to be me?
I looked over at him, he was slightly laughing at Tre and mike now wrestling on the floor. I took in everything.
The way his vibrant emerald Green eyes had made me feel so many things and so many ways, the way his smirk can turn so quickly into a goofy smile, his hair blowing slightly from the breeze, even the way he sat. With his legs apart and hands hanging in his lap. He looked over at me. I wish I knew what he was thinking.
Billies P.O.V
I guess I had just accepted when I began to make moves on Marsha that I wanted something to come out of this. Out of us flirting. I didn't look at her and just want the sex. I wanted it all, I wanted dates with her, I wanted to hug her, I wanted to just sit in silence and stare into her eyes, I wanted to listen to her stupid jokes, I wanted to make her laugh at stupid hours in the morning and watch her try not to wake up the neighbours, I wanted every moment I was with her to last.
I liked the way she did everything, the way she would laugh, giggle, get embarrassed, care, I just couldn't help myself from it all.
But I had never felt the feeling so strongly as now. And every time the feeling in my stomach: the warm fuzzy feeling becoming more noticeable and strong in some ways.
I just wanted her.
"What are you thinking Billie?" She asked me quietly, Almost at whisper volume, a tiny smile forming on her face.
You.
You.
Say you.
"Erm- just- Whos gonna win out of mike and Tre." I lied. I watched her face sort of sink from its smile.
You idiot.
