Chapter 43: Wedding Planning Begins
The excitement in the air was palpable. Roman and Isabella had made their engagement official, and now it was time to start planning their wedding. Every detail, from the location to the guest list, seemed like a monumental decision, but Isabella felt more certain than ever that this was the right path for her. She had Roman by her side, and with Naomi as her maid of honor, she knew they could tackle any challenge that came their way.
It was a sunny afternoon when Isabella, Roman, Naomi, and Joelle gathered around the kitchen table in Roman's house to start discussing the wedding. Joelle had been talking non-stop about how she wanted to help plan, and she was already excited about the idea of being a flower girl. The energy in the room was infectious, and Roman couldn't help but smile at how everything was falling into place.
"I was thinking we should start by narrowing down a venue," Isabella said, glancing up from her notebook, where she had written a few ideas. "I want something intimate, but big enough for everyone we want to invite."
Naomi nodded thoughtfully. "Definitely. You don't need something too grand, but something that feels special. Maybe something with an outdoor space. That way, we could have both the ceremony and reception in one place."
Joelle jumped in, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh! What if we have a garden wedding, Mom? With pretty flowers everywhere?"
Isabella's heart melted at the thought of Joelle's enthusiasm. "That's actually a great idea, sweetheart. A garden wedding would be beautiful."
Roman, who had been sitting quietly, listening intently, finally chimed in. "I like the idea of an outdoor wedding, too. But let's make sure it's somewhere with a backup plan in case the weather decides not to cooperate. Florida storms are no joke."
Isabella smiled, appreciating Roman's practicality. "Definitely. We'll need a backup plan for sure."
The conversation turned to other aspects of the wedding, like the dress, the music, and the guest list. Roman's extended family was eager to be involved, with Jimmy and Naomi already offering to help in any way they could. The thought of having all their loved ones together in one place made Isabella feel incredibly lucky.
By the end of the afternoon, they had narrowed down their venue choices to a couple of places with beautiful gardens and event spaces. The next step would be to tour the locations and make a final decision, but for now, they were all feeling excited about the possibilities.
"Do you know what you want your dress to look like yet?" Naomi asked, giving Isabella a teasing smile.
Isabella's face lit up at the thought. "I've been looking at a few styles, but nothing's really stood out yet. I'm hoping I'll know when I see it, you know?"
"I'm sure you'll find the perfect one," Naomi said, giving her friend a reassuring wink. "This day is all about you, Isa. You deserve to feel like a queen."
Joelle jumped up from her seat, suddenly pulling out her phone. "Can I look for ideas for my dress? I want to look just like you, Mom!"
Isabella chuckled, watching her daughter's excitement. "Of course, sweetheart. Let's make sure it's a dress you'll feel comfortable in, though."
As the conversation continued, they began to discuss other details, from the flowers to the food, to the music they wanted. It was overwhelming but in the best way possible. Every decision they made brought them one step closer to their big day.
