The Lightning Mask
The next morning was slightly warmer than the past few days. Everyone except Jay was sound asleep in nice cozy beds while the Master of Lightning was building his greatest invention yet. The blue knight was carving some designs in the interiors of one of the gliders he created earlier that morning.
He didn't want to admit it, but all that he has been thinking about was Nya and how she could not even be herself the next time he see's her. He missed her long, raven, silky hair that was always tied up in a ponytail; her beautiful ocean blue eyes and that cute little mole that she states is horrible, but is to Jay is a mark of eternal beauty. "Watcha doing?" a someone asked breaking Jay out of his trance.
"What?" Jay asked turning around to see Kai wide away.
"What are you making?" The red knight asked.
The blue knight sighed, "This is what is going to help us get the out of the Floating Ruins. Since all the mask are protected by what looks like dragons we need a back up plan just in case" Jay stated as he finished the last of the glider's designs.
"That's not all is it?" Kai questioned as he sat down next to Jay.
The knight of lightning bit his lip, "What would make you think that?" Jay asked trying to not revel anything.
"Dude, I lived with a little sister who doesn't ever show her feelings. I think I know when I see a depressed face when I see one" Kai said.
The knight in blue sighed, "I'm just worried about Nya that's all" Jay told the red knight.
Kai knew that Jay cared a lot about his sister, but this was just getting ridiculous, "Jay. Nya is strong and you know it. Besides she has Lloyd with her, so I think she'll be fine" Kai assured his brother in law.
The Master of Fire went over to wake up the others leaving Jay to finish the gliders, "But you don't know what's really going on" Jay whispered to himself.
After a couple minutes, everyone was all up and ready to get the third mask. The knights and Sensei started walking to the Floating Ruins to see things literally floating in the air. Zane was fascinated by how just random things were up in the air without question to the gravity. As they looked up at the floating objects there was a sudden thunder that frighten the four knights.
"Electrical Storm" Wu stated, "We must hurry. I fear that this storm is dangerous by the look of things." The knights nodded at their Sensei and started heading to this huge, long, tower that looks more like nun chucks than an actual temple. The five travelers were right in front of the big tower wondering how to get up to the top where the Lightning Mask should be.
"What do we do shake it?" Cole asked in a joking way before Wu hit him with his poll.
"You must climb it. And thanks to Jay you have gliders to get back down just in case if something goes wrong" Wu informed as he pushed his four pupils to the tower. Jay gulped and started climbing the tower with the others right behind him.
It felt like ages since they started climbing the tower cause it was over 300 feet tall, but once Jay made it to the top trying to breath in air; the mask was in the dead center of the top floor. The blue knight hobbled over to the mask that was blue, with silver designs engraved into it, and little strings around it to make it look like an octopus.
With caution, Jay lifted the mask up with his hands and sighed in relief, that was until the tower started to shake. The Master of Lightning looked beneath him to see the ground crumbling with something glowing blue underneath. The others made it to the top to see the event as well and stared at Jay and his reaction.
"RUNNNNNNN!!!!!" Jay yelled as he jumped off the building with the mask. As planed, Jay grabbed the wings of the gliders and directed himself to the ground where Sensei was waiting for them. The others had a little trouble with their due to it being their first time flying on a glider, but they all made it to the ground safely.
"Do you have the mask?" Wu asked concerned. Jay nodded and showed the mask to Sensei and the other knights.
"Wow it looks just like you" Kai teased as he got slapped upside the head by Zane, "That's not very nice, Kai" He said making Cole start to laugh.
Something then roared in the distance and Jay realized what was underneath the ground. "I think we should get moving before the dragon catches up to us" Jay stuttered. Everyone agreed and started walking to somewhere only Sensei would know.
"Where are we headed next Sensei?" Zane asked with curiosity.
"Somewhere Kai knows very well" Wu chuckled as he pointed to the Master of Fire.
Kai looked at Wu in confusion, "And where would that be?" He questioned.
"The Fire Temple"
