20. Fake
Hellloooooo! Sorry for the delay, but I was really busy with things this week that were out of my control. Hope you enjoy the chapter! :)

"Ginny! How dare you use such foul language in this house!" Mrs Weasley scolds a red faced Ginny as she smashed her palm against the table to make her point.
"Can you not see who he has brought here?" Ginny argued. She looked at Ron again, who understandably looked as though he wanted to be anywhere else but here. "What the hell do you think you are playing at?"
"Ginny it's alright. Calm down." Harry says placing his hand on Ginny's shoulder.
"I don't care. It does not excuse you to be so verbally aggressive." Mrs Weasley raised her voice which even made me flinch a little.
"To be perfectly fair, she has called me the C word a bunch of times." George pointed out in a light-hearted voice. It was clear he was trying to calm everyone down in a way.
"Don't blame her." Percy said, sticking his tongue out at George.
Mrs Weasley shot her son a warning look. She was far from happy. "Now is not the time for jokes, George. And be quiet Percy."
"Okay I think we all just need to sit down and--" Bill started to speak but he was cut off when Ron started to talk over him.
"I reckon you all need to let me explain myself here. I don't want to cause any drama, just let me have my say." Ron tells everyone. He didn't really look at anyone in particular. He stared at the wall behind us. I noticed that Sarah didn't appear so smug anymore. In fact she looked almost uncomfortable, it was clear she was never around the whole Weasley family before.
"Honestly, I really don't want things out of hand here... I just really wanted to meet you all. I can go if it's most appropriate." Sarah says in a voice that I couldn't tell whether it was sincere or not. She gave a sad facial expression to Ron which only made him appear more furious.
"You are the one who caused drama when you brought it into the house Ron." Ginny tells Ron angrily. For a moment I think she is going to stand up and leap across at him, but Harry wouldn't allow things to get that far. "How much of a fool are you? Are you forgetting that this...this thing destroyed your relationship with Hermione?"
"Ginny, it's fine, honestly." I tried to get through to her but she didn't seem to notice me speaking to her.
"Ron, why don't you and I go somewhere for a chat...yeah?" Harry tried his best, too, to help resolve this situation. But Ron ignored him.
"Will you ever quit being so mouthy and judgemental towards me? God you are such a nightmare. Just do me a favour and be quiet." Ron yelled at Ginny.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me you little--"
"EVERYBODY SHUT UP THIS INSTANT. THERE IS NO NEED FOR SUCH CARNAGE. ESPECIALLY YOU GINERVA, YOUR ATTITUTUDE IS DOING NOBODY ANY FAVOURS." The abrupt and loud voice of Arthur Weasley silences everybody instantly. He rose from the table and made brief eye-contact with everyone sitting. He looked furious. He began to speak slowly, he meant business. "Are we not capable of having a nice family meal without everyone tearing shreds out of each other? Since when is it okay to do that in front of guests and a child? Angelina, Hermione, Fleur and....Sabrina... I'm sorry about this display."
"Her name is Sarah." Ron says impatiently. Sarah placed her hand on Ron's arm and gave him a small smile. She appeared to whisper to him telling him that it was okay.
He didn't seem to appreciate Ron's tone of voice towards him but he continued anyway. "We can either act like calm and civil individuals or we can just postpone this meal."
"Oh there is really no need for that," Sarah says in an apologetic voice followed by a flick of her long platinum hair. "I can just leave now if it's easier, I don't want to be the one to spoil a family night...I am sorry for the trouble."
"You don't have to do that, it isn't necessary." I spoke up, catching everyone by surprise. "I don't want there to be any drama either. I've forgotten about the past and I have moved on. I just want a quiet night with no hassle. You leaving won't solve anything. What is done, is done."
I gave her my sweetest smile. I had no clue what game I was playing at here, but I knew I definitely didn't want her to think that I was in some way bother by her being here.
Okay, maybe I did feel uneasy but I wasn't going to let her think that. I certainly haven't forgotten about all the things I have heard about her, especially the pain she caused. Suddenly I actually began to worry for Ron and wondered what the hell he was doing with someone like this. Who is to say that she isn't taking him for a ride?
Sarah wasn't expecting me to sound to civil towards her. Her mouth practically dropped open, but then she redeemed herself by giving me a massive grin. "I'm glad to hear that. You know, you look much prettier in person."
I wanted to get sick.
Nobody dared to say anything until Ron turns around to Sarah and says, "Do you mind giving me a minute alone with these lot? I'll go out and get you when I am finished. You don't have to leave."
She seemed a little annoyed but she nodded anyway. "No problem... uh... I guess I'll wait outside."
After Sarah moved outside, escorted by Ron, Ginny leans in towards me with a stunned look on her face. She whispers to me, "What is that about Hermione?"
"If she is playing games, I don't want her to think I'm going to be an easy target." I whispered back, mindful of everyone around me. "I just hope Ron won't be one either."
"Games? You mean you think she is up to something? Like using Ron?" Ginny came to the same realization.
I noticed that George sitting across from me picked up on the exchange between Ginny and I. He smiled almost sympathetically, it was clear he was a bit concerned for Ron too. I nodded at Ginny.
Ron came back into the room; he seemed to contain himself a bit. He looked a lot calmer, but he could let rip at any given second. The tension in the room could be sliced with a knife, nobody looked as though they wanted to speak first, apart from a livid Mr and Mrs Weasley. Ron walked over to the table and took a spare seat beside George, which was across from me. He dared not to look in my direction before he started to speak nervously, "Look, I know you are probably all thinking what the hell I am doing but--"
"Too right we are." Ginny spat venomously.
"Ginny, I will not tell you again." Mrs Weasley said with a sense of finality in her tone. She shot Ginny a disapproving look before she turned her attentions to Ron. "Explain to me what is going on... is this girl who I think it is?"
Ron didn't say anything, he lowered his head, but his silence seemed to give Mrs Weasley the answer she wanted. Mrs Wealsey said something under her breath, I couldn't quite make out what it was but she then looked over to me and gave me a look with a mixture of sympathy and apologies. Everyone else at the table seemed far from impressed too. Bill just let out a frustrated sigh while Charlie and Percy shook their heads in disbelief. Meanwhile, I stiffened in my seat feeling very uncomfortable. I never thought I would ever have to deal with this sort of situation again. Before Sarah's shock appearance the past events were dead and buried, as far I was concerned.
"I'm not being an idiot on purpose, I swear," Ron tells everyone in a pleading voice. "It's just....I don't know. It just sort of happened. I don't even know if it's that serious or not.... I just wanted to introduce her to everyone so you can all see that she isn't as bad as you think. I don't intend to cause trouble. Honestly." He looks over at me this time with a sad look in his eye. He was clearly at a loss for words.
"It's not really ideal though... is it?" Mr Weasley said cautiously. Even he started to appear uncomfortable. "You should know that not everyone's reaction will be a positive one."
"I didn't know Hermione was going to be here, I really didn't." Ron tells his father. "This obviously didn't turn out the way I expected. I'm sorry. She's actually a sweet girl and I just wanted to introduce her so you can all see that she's not a bad person. Yes I will admit that I messed things up in the past...and she was involved. But it was me who caused the damage."
"Slimy git. You told us that she made the first move. Now you are saying it was your fault?" Ginny spoke up. She looked as though she instantly regretted it because she avoided making eye contact with her mother. But even Mrs Wealsey didn't tell off Ginny this time, she too awaited Ron's response. All heads turned to Ron now.
"You don't know anything Ginny. I'm the one who messed things up in other ways. So stop attacking me." Ron just sounded tired all of a sudden. "I don't want there to be any arguments."
"Why can't you just ask Hermione how she feels about this whole thing?" George says, capturing Ron and everyone else's attention. "You haven't said a single word to her since you arrived. Don't take the cowards' way out here. Have you given a second thought to how she must be feeling?"
"I'm not taking the cowards--"
"It's all right, there shouldn't be any trouble over it. I'm fine," I spoke up in a flat voice. I felt uncomfortable when everyone turned their gazes to me, but the last thing I wanted was for everyone to feel like they were walking on eggshells around me. "I have moved on with my life and I'm happy to know that Ron is doing the same. I'll admit that it's a bit awkward, but I'd hate to see everyone fall out over it."
"You can't say you are seriously okay with it though...." George tells me with a confused look on his face. Angelina looked equally as puzzled as George.
I shrugged. "There is no reason why I shouldn't be. It's all in the past now. It doesn't affect me the slightest." I lied on that last part, mainly because I was so desperate not to have all the attention on me.
"Hermione I'm sorry for all of this. I honestly didn't know you were gonna be here.... If I had known it would be a different story. I don't mean to be a prat.... I don't know how I should explain myself. Things with her.... It just happened." Ron said to me in paranoia because of all the eyes on him. But something about the way he spoke to me told me he told the truth.
"Ron I am not mad. You deserve happiness too. If she's the one who can give it to you then...." I paused on the last part, not having the slightest clue what to say. I definitely should not be happy that this girl might be taking my friend for a fool. It didn't really help my case much but I just smiled at Ron instead to tell him that I was "happy". I had no idea what I was doing, but I was not going to turn against him. I had to figure this Sarah girl out. It was all too sudden to be sincere.
"Well... thank you I guess. I'm happy to hear that, honestly."
There was silence for another few moments. Most people at the table looked as though they'd rather be anywhere else but here, and I didn't blame them. Victoire suddenly started to cry which pulled everyone out of their daze and they turned their heads. Fleur gave us all an awkward smile as she excused herself from the room.
"I can't say for myself that I am happy with this choice you make son, if you are serious about this girl it may take a lot of getting used to... but you are grown enough to make your own mistakes and deal with them. Neither your mother nor I are going to tell you off. It's pointless anyway because you wouldn't listen to us nonetheless," Arthur Weasley said just as Fleur left the room. Mrs Weasley looked like she disapproved of her husband's words but she shook her head anyway. "As stated previously, none of us here want any trouble. And I hope your.... Lady friend is aware of that. Tonight will be a peaceful one."
"She isn't out to cause drama, Father." Ron replies.
"I hope you are right. She caused a lot of drama in this family last year and I will not hesitate to kick people out if an ounce of trouble arises." Mrs Weasley says with a hint of anger in her voice. "Like your Father, I am not happy with this. But I will say that I am not going to pick up the pieces if things go downhill. There are plenty of lovely girls out there Ronald..."
"Mum please, I know what I am doing." Ron said, annoyed. "As I said, I just wanted to show everyone that that she ain't as bad as you may think. But if things are gonna be uncomfortable then perhaps I should get her and leave."
"No, don't go," I stood up just as Ron did. I inhaled deeply when he raised his eyebrows at me. "I'm the one who should go really..."
"No." Ginny, Harry and George all said at the same time.
"Oh for pity's sake. Will the pair of you sit down now?" Ron and I done exactly as what Mr Weasley told us. He stressfully started to massage his temples before he proceeded. "Nobody is going to leave, not on my account. There is no reason why we should all make peace if everyone is willing." He looks at me. I didn't know what else to do other than smile. "If it's okay with everyone, we will continue with tonight. But I promise that if there is trouble, like your Mother said, people will get kicked out. Am I understood?"
Everyone either nodded or muttered "yes" after he finished speaking. There was finality in his tone that I suspected nobody wanted to ignore. With a look of approval from his parents, Ron left the room to get Sarah. Fleur came back with Victoire and sat opposite Bill, she appeared to whisper to him to fill her in on what happened. I couldn't eavesdrop much because Ginny nudged me.
"Are you all right?" She asked me, I noticed Harry looking at me too with a worried expression.
"Thanks for the concern but I am okay." I reassured them both. I leaned in closer and kept my voice as low as possible, even lighter than a whisper. "It's not me I'm worried about."
Ginny didn't say anything, but I could tell she shared my feelings. Harry merely nodded before he whispered. "I know what you mean."
It was a relief to know that I didn't seem to be the only one suspicious about Ron's new relationship with Sarah of all people.
Most people started to dig back into their food before Ron and Sarah made their presence known again. They both walked to the edge of the table and I could sense that Ron was nervous. Sarah appeared more casual than anything, almost too casual for somebody about to meet the parents of a boyfriend who caused problems before. She flashed a brilliant smile. Flicked her ridiculously smooth hair back. Latched onto Ron's hand. It was almost impossible to find anything about her that wasn't smug.
"So um... I'll just introduce you all properly." Ron scratched his head with his free hand before taking a glance at Sarah. "Sarah, these are my brothers, sister and parents I told you about. That over there is my best mate Harry." Ron nodded towards Harry who kept an emotionless expression. I knew that Harry met Sarah before, but not on positive terms.
"Nice to see you again, Harry." She tells him, smoothly. Sarah gave Harry a half smile before she licked her bottom lip.
I stared at her, stunned that she actually had to guts to get flirty with Harry when his wife was sitting next to him. Ginny looked bewildered yet at a loss for words. Harry didn't respond to Sarah, he picked up his half full wine glass and took a large gulp.
Poor Ron didn't notice this gesture. He continued to introduce his Family members individually to Sarah. Nobody was really responsive; it was obvious they didn't know what was appropriate to say. There were a few quiet 'Hellos' and a nod of the head, but that was it really.
Finally when Ron got around to the last pair, which was Angelina and George, I had to bite my tongue to hold back the laughter when Angelina turned her head into George's chest and made a vomiting gesture aimed at Sarah. George pressed his lips into a hard line and eyed his parents to make sure they didn't notice. He tried to keep it cool but I could see the amusement in his eyes. Ron looked furious but he didn't act upon it.
"I'm so happy to finally meet you all. It's a pleasure." Sarah announces to the room in a voice that was a little too ecstatic. She flicked her hair again, she seemed to have a habit of that. "Thank you for having me in your home, Mr and Mrs Wealsey. And what a lovely home you have. It feels very welcoming." She looks at me now and my heart hammered. "Again, nice to see you Hermione. Shame we didn't get to meet properly before."
That cheeky bitch.
"It's no problem, dear." Mrs Weasley says quickly with a warm smile. If I didn't know her so well, I too would have believed she was sincere.
"We welcome you to our home, Selene. Why don't you sit down?" Mr Weasley suggested whilst making a gesture to two empty seats at the end of the table.
Sarah frowned at the name confusion but didn't correct him. Ron looked quite embarrassed at this and shot his Father a glare. "I told you, her name is Sarah."
Mr Weasley cocked his head to the side and actually looked puzzled. It wasn't until Ginny started sniggering with Charlie and Percy looking like they weren't far off from erupting with the laughter that he realized his mistake. "Ah, apologies Sarah."
"It's okay," Sarah smiled sweetly at him as Ron pulled her chair out for her to sit. "My name is quite common anyway, so people get it wrong sometimes."
I had a feeling it wasn't going to be the last time Mr Weasley would get her name wrong again.
Ron and Sarah made themselves comfortable. At this stage, the dinner was getting a little cold but nobody said anything. Each face in the room seemed very unsure of themselves. Usually a dinners at the Weasleys were lively and full of fun, but it was strange to see that it was deadly quiet atmosphere. Sarah was oblivious. It was embarrassing to see her touch Ron's arm and pour him out some wine all while she kept that fake smile spread across her face. I didn't realize how much I was staring at her until she looked right at me, as if she were sensing me gawking. I held my breath as I looked away, embarrassed that she noticed. Everyone pretty much ate in silence, apart from a few times where people would have casual conversation with each other about the weather and what they got up to for the day.
"So Sarah, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?" Molly Weasley breaks the silence.
"Oh, I don't think there's a lot to tell really." Sarah actually seemed shy at this question and avoided the eye contact with Mrs Weasley. She took a sip of her drink.
"I'm sure there is plenty. What do you do for a living?"
"Nothing that's really worthwhile or interesting. I just pose for a few pictures for a newspaper." Sarah announces. Slowly a wide smile appears on her face.
"She models for the fashion section in the Daily Prophet. You know the new section that was introduced last year?" Ron tells everyone proudly as he put his arm around Sarah's shoulder.
"Modelling?" Mrs Weasley asks wide eyed, she actually seemed surprised at this.
Sarah shrugs. "I guess so. I got picked after I sent them my pictures and details."
"Well that is... different." Mrs Weasley responds.
"Oh my god, I thought it was only a coincidence she looked like the girl in the paper." Percy mutters. Judging from the look on his face afterwards he didn't mean for it to come out loud. He widens his eyes and looks down to his half empty plate, desperately trying ignore the stares of his brothers.
"That explains why you've got so many Daily Prophets stuffed under your mattress." George tells Percy, casually as he poured himself out another drink whilst Angelina choked on hers. George knew exactly what he was saying, the smirk on his face grew wider and wider. The room went silent for a split second before Ginny burst out in laughter as Bill, Charlie and Harry did. Percy understand looked like he wanted to die as he grew red faced and scowled at a hysterical George.
"Bloody told you he'd come home with a model!" Charlie declared and stuck his tongue out at George. He then looks at Percy. "Too bad you didn't keep your thoughts to yourself."
Ron clenched his fists and his nostrils flared. However, Sarah looked like she was enjoying the attention. That didn't surprise me.
"What is the meaning of that?" A puzzled Mr Weasley asks George. Poor man had no idea what everyone was laughing about. I too was on the edge.
"N-Nothing Father." Percy said quickly before he mouths to George 'I'm going to kill you.'
"Shut up you pack of fools. Nobody is laughing here!" Ron said angrily, mainly to George. "I can't believe you lot. Get a life! I'm sorry Sarah." Sarah stopped grinning once Ron looked at her apologetically; she immediately pulled a pouty face.
"It's fine. I get it a lot." She tells him with a shrug.
"So unbelievably fake, it's pathetic." I said aloud, just as Ron was about to comfort Sarah. Typically, the table went quiet just after I spoke. Most peoples expressions were shocked whilst George's, Ginny's and Bill's actually looked impressed. If looks could kill, Sarah's could do exactly that. It was like she knew that I was onto her. Nonetheless I felt embarrassed that I didn't think before I spoke. "Sorry." I quickly muttered.
Ginny placed her hand on my leg and squeezed it; I knew this was her way of telling me "well played."
"Well.... To break this tension I think it's time that I...uhh..." George said after a few minutes of silence. He smiled as everyone looked up from their meal and he placed his hand on Angelina's shoulder. Angelina stopped eating and made eye contact with George, the pair seemed to have a silent conversation with one another and mouthed words at each other every few seconds. It appeared they were contemplating something.
"Everything okay?" Bill asks with a little bit of concern in his voice.
"Yeah everything is cool." George replied quickly without as much as a glance at Bill. He kept his gaze focused on a flushed Angelina. "It's now or never Angelina," He whispers to her.
"If you say so, George." She tells him. George takes her hand as they both stand up slowly. I felt just as confused as everyone else at the table.
"We've got something to say." George simply says. That was enough to launch speculations around the table.
"What is it Son?" Mrs Weasley asks.
"We've got an announcement to make." George said. He laced his fingers with Angelina's.
"Bloody hell I don't think I've seen him look so flustered." Ginny whispers to me while keeping her eye on George.
"What's up with them?" I whispered back. At this stage George and Angelina were looking at each other again. Something was going on.
"No idea."
All of a sudden Ron drops the bone of his chicken drumstick on his plate and licks his fingers clean. Sarah removed her hand from Ron's arm and looked disgusted. "Bloody Hell George, you've gotten her pregnant already, haven't you?"
"Ronald! Don't be rude!" Mrs Weasley snaps in bewilderment.
"What? It's a reasonable thing to ask. Whenever they're around each other it's like watching two animals on heat. Wouldn't be surprise if there's a bun in the oven already."
George threw his head back and roared with laughter. Angelina giggled along too, neither seemed one bit offended by this at all.
"It's a good guess I suppose," Angelina began as George snaked his arm around her waist. "But no, I'm definitely not pregnant."
"Then what is it?" Ginny asked. All curious eyes were on George and Angelina.
"Yeah, come out with it. Gettin' old here." Bill says.
"Okay, here it goes. While we were in America we sort of...well...." George quickly glanced at Angelina. She smiled at him before she went on her tippy toes and kissed his cheek. It was just in that moment that Angelina reached into the pocket of her jeans and pulled out two rings. One diamond one and one golden wedding band.
"We're married!" George declared with a huge smile on his face. He kissed Angelina's hand after she placed the two rings on her finger and he pulled her in closely. Angelina confirmed this statement by showing off her hand proudly to the wide mouthed Weasley's.
Nobody bothered to hide their surprise at this shocking reveal.

I really hope you all knew what George meant when he made the comment about all the Daily prophets being stuffed under Percy's mattress... if not then it just sucks the fun out of it for me :P
I'm working on the next chapter, so keep an eye of for it. You are in for a wild ride ;)
