"Come on you little kids,
Stand up and entertain"
Said one of their seniors,
His voice loud and strained.

After their first day of college,
They were back in the bus,
Headed for their hostel,
When started all the fuss.

Apparently the bored seniors,
Decided it was time,
To show the kids their powers,
To rise up and shine.

They started from the back,
With the guys showing some moves,
While the girls remained to singing,
Rather than hop on the grooves.

When Kavya sung a song,
It was then Deepa's turn,
But she wasn't to submit that easily,
She would make the seniors burn.

She could sing pretty well,
Though she decided not to,
She'd show them her other talent,
Show them she was smart too.

Deepa rose from her seat,
Confidence evident in her feature,
"What's your lovely name?"
She asked her tormenting senior.

The boy was startled a bit,
This was definitely a first,
"My...my name's Ravi,"
He said with a burst.

All eyes turned to her,
Waiting for her to start,
When Deepa bowed towards Ravi,
And threw her words like dart.

"So, Mr. Ravi,
I'm gonna sing a poem for you,"
She said glaring him,
It was now a battle between two.

"All hail Mr. Ravi,
College's famous cretin,
Who's also very callous,
With no abilities lacking."

Ravi looked bewildered,
Not sure what she said,
He still reluctantly clapped,
She must have definitely praised.

A classic public insult,
She had lend upon him,
And yet he was ignorant,
The revenge tasted so sweet.

That was her first date,
With her awesome senior,
In Mr. Ravi, Deepa found,
Her best friend forever...
