She could hear the sound of air,
Such was the mood of class,
Silently they all stared,
At those liquids kept in glass.

She wanted to have some fun,
It was the last day of their school,
But to think of it like that,
She was the only fool.

In less than an hour,
They had their chemistry test,
They all wanted to mug up,
Their brain trying its best.

With books in their hand,
They were reading like a maniac,
So to liven up the mood,
She decided to play a prank.

She pinched her best friend,
He squealed like a rat,
And then her other girl-friend,
Who was a little fat.

Still they didn't budge,
Gave her a determined look,
Reluctantly she had to,
Pick up her own book.

For the next hour,
She too became them,
Those organics and inorganics,
All those solutions she drank.

It was time to say goodbye,
And she was surprised to see,
All her friends cry.

She danced and she sang,
But soon after that,
She too felt a pang.

When they all said good morning,

When they would just sit around and lie,
Gone were those days,
Now it was time to say goodbye.

On the final day of their school,

They were now headed for college,
