The first years trooped down to the dungeons well Scorpius almost skipped down he had being in these very halls exploring he knew where to go even if he had to follow the Perfect to class for the next week he could go anywhere with his eyes closed.... it annoyed him that he had to follow everyone else

"Don't worry Scorpy it's ok we can have a nice lesson even if you can already do the basic potions, well we all can thanks to uncle Sev" said Gideon as he sat down again Scorpius in the middle if the twins

"True grandpa made sure that we learnt about potions from when we were 5 and grandpa T taught us magic with the practice wands so we know the basics already"

Others were listening and when they worked out who he was... the Headmaster's grandson they wondered if he would be spoilt after all he was a Malfoy

Sal came into the room his two snakes around his shoulders hissing up a storm wondering where Scorpius was once spotted they went to him

"Well good morning class and welcome to first year potions and I'll take a leaf out of Severus Snape's book like I normally do every year it's kinda traditional now that I think about it, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses, I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death" he smiled at the group

"Potion Master Snape said this each year when he was teaching before he opened his shop and I have used it since he retired and it seems to work each time to capture your attention, oh and Scorpius don't feed Solomon and Orion ok"

"Fine..." pouts at his 'grandfather' moving the treat away from the twin snakes while hissing a sorry

Other members of the class flinched at him speaking Parseltongue making Sal laugh

"Don't worry about the Parseltongue being spoken it's harmless as young Heir Malfoy here is part of my line like his grandfather the Headmaster and his father can also speak it now onto the lesson of Cure for Boils potion for this you will need..." he went to the board and started writing

"Dried Nettie's, 6 yes only 6 snake fangs and before anyone ask no they do not come from my familiar or the two beans on Heir Malfoy, 4 horned slugs and two porcupine quills and Advil, we will brew together step by step for the first month and then you'll go alone now the ingredients are out on your desks but remember I won't be doing this after a fortnight I'm easing you all into the lesson for the first month afterwards I except you to follow the instructions on the board"

The students looked at their desks and sure enough there were enough for the group of 4 on each table

"Ok class you all ready? firstly we will be crushing all 6 snake fangs in the mortar with the pestle..." holds up the items "...we want a fine powder for this ok"

They went about crushing the fangs and then adding it to the cauldron that was already on the flames

"Next class we take the cauldron off the heat be careful now ok and we add in the dried nettles and horned slugs..." he again held everything up showing them before adding them to his very own cauldron "don't forget the Advil afterwards" he went around the classroom checking on each student nodding happily they were working perfectly before he headed back to the front of the class to continue with the steps

"Next be careful ok you add in the two porcupine quills one at a time and stir five times in a clockwise direction... only five no more than that I'll come around to finish the step as next lesson I'll teach you the spell to complete the potion ok" he left the front of the classroom and waved his hand over each cauldron to complete the potion

A hand shot up "sir it seys to wave your wand over it why didn't you?!" asked a student

"Well it's because I don't use a wand I can do wandless and wordless magic as it helps when I work with so many different potions at the same time plus at the time when I was a child wands weren't invented so wandless and wordless magic is what I knew"

Another hands shot up "when do we learn that?!"

"I say when you are in your 7th year and afterwards you practice, Heir Malfoy don't make the snakes float around"

"Whee~" said the two snakes

"I didn't do it!" said Scorpius to his 'grandfather' making Gideon and Fabian laugh at him being caught red handed

"Scorpius really I can tell that you tapped that one's head" said Fabian as he points to Solomon

"That's Solomon he's a rainbow python and his brother is Orion he's a.... they are twin brothers but two completely different snakes we have no idea how that happened"

"What are they saying?" asked Gideon

"Yeah Orion is upset that Fabian is playing with Solomon and not him and Solomon isn't happy that I tapped him"

"What type of breed is Orion" both asked

"I'm not sure" said Scorpius as he finished his potion Solomon on the stirrer

"Whee~"

"He's also a rainbow python but for some reason he's completely black but if look at him near light his scales shine all different colours"

Scorpius jumped and fell off his stool "grandpa Sal that's me don't make my jump"

"You didn't know the answer and I was behind you three the whole time while you talk snake, Solomon Orion come along you two let's leave the boys to work, oh and Solomon's scales are just that much brighter, that's the difference between them, Solomon is also the goofball out of them and Orion is the calmer one"

The students all nodded at this and looked at the snakes hanging off their professor and watched as Solomon swung randomly while Orion stayed still

"Bottle up your potions make sure they are labeled, clean up and then you can leave" said Sal as he sat down at his desk watching them

Orion, Solomon is just much brighter but they are the same species of snake

The rainbow boa (Epicrates cenchria) is a boa species endemic to Central and South America. A semi-arboreal species (not only do they climb in the wild but also proven in captivity), it is known for its attractive iridescent/holographic sheen caused by structural coloration.
