Chapter ¹: A new beginning

Hi, if you're here from the old story then thank you so much for putting up with me. I'm so sorry for all the waiting that I put you through but I'm back, I'm better than ever and I'm so excited to get back into writing again.

If you aren't here from the old story: nice to meet you :). You may also have to deal with a bit of waiting for new chapters but I'm working very hard on being more up to date with everything.

Anyway, enjoy!

A-J

p.s: yes the main character has the same name as me, I just like my name y'know (Obviously, I picked it :)).

The window was dripping with condensation by the time Andy-James had made his way downstairs. He hadn't slept well, haunted by the guilt that had followed him after he had somehow managed to set his school's hall on fire. The headmistress of Beauxbatons, Madame Maxime, had been awfully angry and had expelled him without a second thought.

"Who cares" he had thought, "s'not like I liked it there anyway." He did care however, and despite how much he had disliked being there, he was worried that he wouldn't get into another school again. In fact, he was quite sure of it, most schools didn't want "unusual" students attending, and with his previous record-

Nevertheless, he tried to enjoy the extra time he had before the holiday as much as he could, happy that Andromeda wasn't too annoyed with what he had done.

Andromeda was his father's cousin, and the third person he had lived with. Though he had been told it was "only temporary", he had been living there for around 4 years.

Andy-James moved from the door to sit by window, trailing his fingers through the droplets of water. The smell of food and the warmth of the room made him quite drowsy. His head leant against the cool glass and he felt himself slowly drifting to sleep.

He didn't stay that way for long, as a loud tapping at the window jolted him awake.

"Open the door will you, dear." Andromeda called from the kitchen.

He hauled himself up, grasping the window frame for support and opened up the window for the family owl, Ember, to come in.

Three letters, along with the daily prophet, fell into his hands and, upon sorting through them, he saw that 2 were addressed to him. Setting the daily prophet and the other letter on the table, Andy-James stared almost fearfully at the two letters. He really wasn't in the mood to hear anymore about the "horrible" things he had done.

The letters still remained unopened when Andromeda called everyone to the table for food. He set them down carefully, glancing at them every now and then, as though they too were about to burst into flames.

"Not opened your mail Andy-James?" Dromeda asked.

"I don't know, might be something bad."

Andromeda sighed before reaching across the table and taking the letters. Upon turning them over, she handed one back instantly, opening the other herself.

Puzzled, Andy-James opened it up, failing to notice the red wax seal on the back. Out of the envelope fell two pieces of paper.

"Hogwarts!" Andromeda exclaimed excitedly. A massive smile appeared on the boy's face. Both Andromeda and her daughter, Tonks, had been to Hogwarts and had spoken so highly of it that Andy-James had been greatly disappointed when he had discovered that he was going to Beauxbatons instead.

But now, he had been accepted to Hogwarts. With new found optimism, he looked back to Andromeda for the other letter. She handed it over instantly, smiling slightly.

Andy-James,

My name is professor Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts. You may have recently heard that you have been accepted to start Hogwarts in your third year.
Before that happens however, there are a few things that I wish to discuss with you. There is also someone that I want you to meet.
Please meet me in my office on Thursday at 9am.

Regards
A.P.W.B.Dumbledore.

"Thursday is tomorrow, so you had better get to bed. You don't want to keep Dumbledore waiting."

Tonks nodded vigorously from where she was sat at the table. Picking up both letters from the table, Andy-James stood up and slowly made his way to bed.

His eyes shut instantly, the thought of going to Hogwarts being the last thing in his head before he fell into a deep sleep.

Quick question,

At the end of this story do I:
•make Sirius go into hiding (like in the original)
•make it so it is known that he is innocent (completely changing the ending of the story and parts of the next few)
