Chapter 16

Natsu POV:

As Wendy was preparing the Lacrima I leaned against the wall, I was eager to go and see some other patients. I wanted to find some of Lucy's comrades, I wanted them to have the charms that we bought.

"Say, do you have any kids here?" I ask the doctor. "Ones who are stuck in the game I mean?"

"We have a few, many of them signed in with their parents. Unfortunately a lot of the parents have since passed, we even have a few orphans now." The doctor says sighing. "Why do you ask?"

"Because Lucy has become a mother to an orphan girl in the game, I was wondering if she was here. I know when Lucy wakes up the first thing she'll ask for is her daughter." I say crossing my arms over my chest.

"Very well, if you'll excuse me Miss Marvell I'll take..." He asks then I remember I never told him my name.

"Oh my name is Natsu, and this is Happy." I say pointing to him.

"I'll take you to the children's ward then, I'll speak to the nurse and she can take you to the children who are in the game." Doctor Tanaka says leading me out of the room. "While you are on the children's ward you might see some family members with the patients, please tell them you are trying everything to find a way to get the kids out. I know you won't know them, but it helps to put a smile on their faces to know that others are trying to help." He explains.

"Ok, and maybe Happy can go see the kids who are awake?" I suggest scratching Happy's head.

"Yeah! I could offer them some fish or tell jokes!" He yells cheerfully. "Like What do you call a fish with a tie? soFISHticated!"

The doctor looks at Happy slightly shocked and then confused, I don't think he understood his joke. Doctor Tanaka leads me into a brightly coloured ward filled with pictures, I admire them as he leads me to a nurses desk. After speaking with one of the nurses he smiles at me and then walks back to be with Wendy, the nurse smiles at me and leads me to a ward. The ward is filled with silent patients, all with the nerve gear on their heads. They all look so small in the beds, even Happy can't even crack a joke to the family members who are sitting next to some of the patients.

"Happy, have a look around the rooms and see if you can find someone called Kiko. I know Lucy would want to know she's safe here."  I say as he fly's out of the room.

I look at some of the patients and their families, I wonder what they did when they weren't in the game. How old were they when they went in? Why did their parents not go in with them? So many questions fill my mind, but the main one. Is where is Lucy's daughter?

Lucy POV:

I add some final touches to Kiko's hair and then admire my handy work, her blue hair has been curled and we made some flower crowns which rest on her blue locks. She's dressed in a white gown with blue belt (Which was approved by Asuna) and on her feet are blue shoes with little heels which she feels makes her look very grown up.

"You look beautiful sweetie." I say planting a kiss on her forehead.

"You look really pretty to mommy!" She tells me picking up the folds of my skirt.

"Thank you sweetie." I reply smiling.

"She's right Lucy, you do look really nice. But you can't look too nice and upstage Asuna." Loke says straightening the tie on his shirt.

"Don't worry, I made her dress and it's nothing like mine." I say and then smile at the pair of them, we've become a little family the three of us. And Loke has become Kiko's favourite uncle (although she won't tell Kirito) "Everyone ready to head to floor one?" I ask.

"Yep!" Kiko cries out grabbing my hand.

Smiling down at her the three of us head to the teleport, one of the options when I finished organising the guild hall was to move it to a different floor. So once we had reached a higher floor I moved the guild hall, and everyone was much happier. The guild is now located on floor 74 and it's by far my favourite floor, it's so beautiful and the air smells so fresh and clean here. Once we reached the teleport station we yell out.

"Teleport Town Of Beginnings!" And we all teleport to the first floor.

Hardly anyone comes here now since so many floors have been opened up, all that's here now are the AI's which still stand by their stalls waiting to offer the newest deals for the beginning of the game. Their sales pitch hasn't changed because they are programmed to welcome new players when they start playing the game, but since no one's come into the game since everything started happening they just keep repeating the same deals each time someone walks past. Holding onto Kiko's hand we make our way to the town hall, where the name signing will take place. Once inside Asuna comes running over to us, she pulls me into a tight hug and smiles brightly. She's not dressed in her wedding gown yet because she's planning to do it later when we have the party, I offered them the opportunity to hold it in the guild hall and both her and Kirito gladly accepted.

"You look amazing Lucy!" Asuna cries and then turns to Kiko. "You do too sweetie!"

"Thanks Auntie Asuna!" Kiko smiles and looks over to Silica and Pina. "Mommy can I go see Pina and Silica?"

"Of course, but don't be too long since we'll be starting soon." I say and she runs off with her blue hair flying behind her. "So Asuna, I have your dress ready for you at the guild hall. And I'll be doing your hair, that ok?"

"It's perfect Lucy, you're so kind for doing this for me." She says taking my hands in hers.

"You're like a sister to me Asuna, of course I want to make your big day special." I say and notice small tears fill Asuna's eyes. "And Loke has managed to get a suit for Kirito, which I think he might have to fight him to get him to wear it." I say and she bursts out laughing.

"Asuna, they are ready for us now." Kirito says walking over to us. "Hey Luce."

"Hey Kirito, everything's ready? Well we can't keep them waiting now can we?" I say releasing Asuna's hands.

She walks over to Kirito and takes his hand, we then follow them into a small room which has a man standing at a desk. He opens a book and looks at the names.

"Asuna and Kirito?" He asks.

"Yes." They both reply.

"Sign your names here, and then you will have a shared storage. You will also be seen as a married couple, so if at any point you wish to terminate this agreement only one of you needs to come here. We will erase your names and you will no longer have your shared storage, do you both agree to these terms?" He asks.

"We do." They reply smiling happily.

Once their names are signed Loke nudges me and smiles. "You may now kiss the bride!" He yells and Kirito pulls Asuna close and kisses her, I put my hands over Kiko's eyes and Agil does the same for Silica. We then all head towards the portal which will take us to floor 74 for the party, once we reach the guild hall Asuna and Kirito look up and see a huge banner.

"Right, Ausna you will come with me to the back entrance. Kirito go with Loke." I instruct.

Lisbeth, Silica, Kiko, Asuna and I all head to the back of the building to my office, since I often end up staying late we adjusted the hall slightly to add a back staircase to my office. Once inside I walk to the cupboard where Asuna's dress is.

"Ready for this?" I ask and she smiles happily, once I'm sure no one is going to come into the room I unzip the bag and unload the dress. Asuna told me that she wanted a dress that was similar to her uniform since it had become such a big part of her life, so I designed the dress with that in mind.

"Oh Lucy.." Asuna says looking at the dress.

"Mommy worked really hard on it, she didn't sleep at all!" Kiko says and I blush.

"Kiko..." I say and Asuna crushes me with a hug. "Um Asuna, you know HP is a good thing in this game right?" I ask and she laughs.

"It's amazing Lucy, thank you so much." She says and I wipe some tears from her eyes.

"No crying on your wedding day." I instruct and she laughs. "I'll add it to your inventory and then you can put it on, then once your all dressed I'll do your hair."

And with that Asuna changed into her wedding dress, and I have to say I was very impressed with my work. It fitted her beautifully and the colours worked really well too, I thought the red might be a little strange for a wedding dress but on Asuna it looked really beautiful. Once she was dressed I began to work on her hair, guess after all those years of Cancer doing my hair something stuck. I brush her hair and then tie it into a high pony tail which I then braid and make a braided bun on her head, once that's done I add some red and white flowers to the braid and her look is complete. I add a veil into her hair and then we're ready to show her to the guild and her husband, I open the door and then look down to the first floor. Kirito is standing awkwardly in a black suit, I smile and then clap my hands. All heads turn to me and I smile.

"Please welcome, the new Mrs Kirito!" I yell and the hall breaks out into an applause as Asuna begins to walk down the stairs.

She glides gracefully with her dress floating around her, Kirito walks towards her and takes her hand. She smiles at him and then the pair walk to the small dance floor that Penelope made for them, we play a soft dance song and the pair share their first dance together. Soon other couples begin to join in the dance and I stand at the side smiling at them, it's days like this that we all treasure. Loke notices me standing alone so comes over to me, he takes my hand and pulls me over to the dance floor.

"No guild master should stand alone." He pulls me into a dance and we glide across the floor, when Loke isn't so focused on flirting with people he's a really good guy. We pause in the dance as Kiko comes over to us.

"I'm supposed to dance with mommy." She says pouting.

Loke picks her up and resumes the dance as she giggles, the dance then changes to an upbeat song and we all begin to dance. The party continues until five in the morning, most of the guild members are passed out or sleeping all over the floor. Kiko is sleeping up in my office and I'm currently cleaning up the guild hall with Penelope.

"Hey Luce, thank's so much for today." Kirito says walking over to me.

"I was happy to help you Kirito, we've become so close over the past two years. You saved me a couple of times too, so it was the least I could do." I say smiling at him.

"Listen we're going to leave the guild for a while, me and Asuna. We are thinking of buying a house too, but we're not sure where yet. Know of any good houses for sale?" He asks me.

"Let me think, I remember someone saying that there were some houses on the 22nd floor. I've been down there a couple of times and it's a really nice floor, lot's of forests and lakes. It's really beautiful." I say yawning.

"Go to bed Lucy, we can help you to clean here tomorrow." Asuna tells me, she changes back into her normal uniform and then rubs my shoulders. "Last night was amazing Lucy, you made that day so special for us."

"I'm glad I was able to help you guy's have a good wedding, the name signing thing was a little dull so I hope this made up for it." I say and then stretch. "Well I'm going to get a little sleep in the infirmary, you're welcome to sleep there too. Hopefully no one's sleeping there..."

They smile at each other and then follow me to the infirmary, luckily there are four beds free. So I transfer Kiko from the chair she was in to one of the beds then climb into one my self, Asuna and Kirito climb into a bed together and then we all fall asleep. I begin to dream about the real world, which I haven't done in a long time. I dream of the guild, of my spirits, of the jobs we used to take, I can feel my self become more and more sad and soon wake up with tears falling down my cheeks. I sit up and notice it's about lunchtime, wiping my eyes I step out from the infirmary and look at all the guild members laughing and helping to clean up after the wedding party. The joy we create in this game is incredible, every day is different and even when we're fighting we know that soon we'll be back in the real world with our loved ones. That's what keeps me going in this game, not only that but the friends and family I've made. They keep me going through everything, and I know without them by my side I would have died long ago.

"I promise, I'll get you all home safe..." I whisper and then walk down to help with the clean up.
