II: Strawberries are red, Blueberries are blue, I hate you
After the incident, I was to go to the strawberry fields. When I arrived there I found Miranda Gardiner. She glared at me.
"You're late."
"I'm sorry I had a little incident."
Her eyes widened, and I immediately regretted the way I had phrased it.
"Not that type of incident, a sword got me in the nose."
"Alright."
"I mean it's not like it would have mattered that I am late, It's not like these strawberries are going to go bad. They manage to stay alive all year, I doubt being a couple minutes late would affect them."
Again she glared at me, then the most unexpected thing happened; she hair flipped me. She hair flipped me with her caramel brown hair, for everyone watching it was probably extremely entertaining but I was just bewildered. I just gaped at her then she said, "Well let's get to tending these strawberries."
She pointed to several people and told them their jobs some people had to water the strawberries while other had to gather the ripe ones. I, of course, was stuck with pulling weeds. Miranda threw a pair of gloves at me, and they ended up hitting my glasses. She looked at me with a teasing smile and said.
"Get to it, chop chop."
In that moment I really hated her, but I was probably just bitter about that one time we played Capture the Flag and she trapped me by wrapping me in vines, but all she did was smile and walk away.
I was about to trip her when something truly amazing happened. I saw her start to tremble, then I saw her start to gag, and I knew what happened and who did it. I saw Connor standing on a hill quite a ways from us, but I knew he was the one who threw the stink bomb. I knew he had a throwing arm because that's what he did with his mom and brother every summer. Connor knew how Miranda was, so he probably decided to throw a stink bomb that put Crepitus to shame. I looked towards Connor and gave him a thumbs up. Miranda saw Connor and he did the smart thing, immediately running for the hills.
I heard a conch horn sound and that meant it was time for lunch. It sounded at just the right time; the smell was getting really bad.
I walked over to Connor and gave him a high five
"Nice job! What was the stink bomb made out of?"
"Pegasus poop. 3 weeks of it, it was disgusting but I managed to make 7 before I passed out,"
He was grinning wildly.
"Well see you."
I ran over to Morpheus table. I saw that Alexander and Charlotte were already at the table. I was looking around to see if I could see any of my other siblings
"Thomas left, he went home."
I saw Alexander staring at me so I knew he was talking to me. It made sense though, the summer solstice had just passed and summer was coming to an end.
The rest of the day, nothing too interesting happened, but at night some things happened. So I went to bed and the second my head hit the pillow I was out like a flame in space (that was a science joke, I know things, sue me).
If you didn't know, demigods suffer from nightmares all the time, being a son of Morpheus doesn't change that, they really only make my dreams weirder.
I was on a huge island. I saw the edge so I looked towards it and saw that this island was not in fact in the ocean but in the sky. Behind me I heard a smooth but frosty voice, "What an astute observation, we are in fact floating in the sky"
I jumped and saw behind me was a man that looked shockingly like me. I knew who it was, it was Morpheus my dad.
"Hello, sir."
"North."
"Do you care to tell me why I am on this floating island?"
"No, not particularly."
"Gee thanks," I said rolling my eyes
"Can you really not comprehend sarcasm? We are on this island because this is the island of dreams. That is where I shall make my castle," He pointed up and I saw a flat area on top of a hill. I started looking at the area around me, and I saw a waterfall near me. This island truly was the dream.
