Teddy Lupin climbed off the scarlet train, for the sixth time, hand in hand with Nicole Longbottom. They were laughing and having fun. The rest of his group of friends joined them near the carriages. Most eight years wandered toward the front of the carriages to pet the thestrals.

Once again, the first years gawked at Teddy and whispered among themselves. He heard the words Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, Draco Malfoy, and werewolf thrown around often. A few second years and even fewer third years joined in with the whispering. Teddy barely noticed them anymore, and he was busy playing with a particularly friendly thestral.

He noticed Nicole looking at him sadly. She couldn't see the thestrals, but she knew what they were. She gave him a worried look every time he  acknowledged them, but he didn't really care. This was his favorite thestral out of all the ones he had met. And  the only other pet he had had since third year was his dad, and that didn't really count.

Teddy got into a carriage, driven by his favorite thestral, with Nicole, Victoire Weasley, and Victoire's boyfriend. Victoire was Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's daughter. She was an eight villa, but half werewolf like Teddy. She was Nicole's best friend, and she had a new boy by her side every week. Teddy liked her, but he felt bad for all the "boyfriends".

Once they were in the castle, it was easier for all the first years to stare. They always did, because of his parents and his guardians, but most people got tired of it by second year. He was extremely inextraordinary.

In his second year, Harry taught Teddy how to conjure a Patronus, and he was very good at it. Teddy lazily conjures a Patronus as he sits at the Hufflepuff table. He watches as the cat walks through the air proudly. He could keep it alive as long as he wanted, but when the first years enter the room, it runs through the doors and dissipates. He notices Nicole's owl Patronus flying in loops around the table. He conjures the cat again, and it begins to chase the owl. Soon, the Great Hall is filled with Patronuses. Teddy casually looks up at the table where teachers are seated, but becomes worried when he sees Hermoine crying.
