Chapter seventeen
~Y/N POV~
For the past three days my mind has been spinning and I even so much as spend my lunch breaks looking up stuff on the internet about dragons. I use either my computer back in my office or my phone whenever I can. I pretty much have become obsessed at this point but I don't care. It doesn't help there isn't much information on dragons. Only that they breath fire, live for a very long time and could fly. Also to describe their appearances but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for anything that tells me that dragons can change to human form too and other things.
I'm just looking for something explain what I think and what I this is that the seven handsome doctors that I work with in the very same building are my very own dragons I met back when I was fifteen. It's just this doubt in my mind stops me from confronting them. A voice of my own trying to tell me I could be wrong and make myself look crazy to the point Namjoon might actually have me committed somewhere if I go throwing accusations like that around.
I've barely spoken to any of them since I last left their house. I just want to get all this off my mind and have a clear mind before speaking to them like before. I had to apologise to Taehyung yesterday because he was speaking to me about a patient, work related topics and yet I wasn't paying attention except for trying to think if he was a dragon or not and if so how. How would that even be possible?
Out of all of them I haven't spoken to Yoongi at all which I'm not surprise about since it now looks like he avoids me. I've noticed the quick glances he would give me in passing but never says anything to me like he use to which was always a greeting or a start of to a simple conversation. I would try to pick up conversation with him despite him being involved with Sun-hee but I have too much going on in my mind to think properly about picking up a conversation with him.
It's literally starting to drive me crazy to the point I have a hard time sleeping at night. I didn't think it would affect me this way but it has. So when my lunch break came along, I decided to go to the cafeterias on the ground floor and get myself some hot coffee to try and keep me more awake and alert. I still have patients to see for the rest of the afternoon and I cant just cancel them either.
After receiving my coffee I just found the first table I could find that was free and took up a seat and took out my phone and began my search again. It's frustrating how there is no other information to see if dragons can turn to human form but what I did find was something about how dragons can love.
Apparently they can live for up to hundreds of years until they find their love and that would mean to give their heart to the ones they truly desire to be with. Not physically giving their heart but emotionally and spiritually. It's not clear how they choose to do this but by what it says sometimes dragons have no control over it and it just happens like some sort of fate.
And also because their hearts would belong to their loved ones that if the loved on was to die, the dragon would also since it would literally break their heart if that were to happen. It's pretty interesting since this is the newest information I had found on them since my first day in searching for answers.
"Hey, you look pretty tired Y/n."
I was startled by the sudden voice an locked my phone to look up to the voice, only to see the man smiling down at me just before taking a seat across from me with his own hot drink in his hand.
"Dr Yang? You surprised me."
I put my phone back in my pocket so he wouldn't see what I was searching and forced a weak smile at the man since I was really tired today.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that, but I did mean what I said though. You look really tired today. Is everything okay?" Dr Yang
I nodded as he showed an expression of concern when he brings his own hot drink to his lips and taking a sip.
"Yeah everything's okay I guess. I've just been having problems that's all."
"Boy problems?" Dr Yang
My eyes lit up in surprise and I sat back in my chair. Dr Yang chuckles and places his coffee on the table in front of him.
"I'm only assuming because you look as tired as my sister did a long time ago when she also went through some boy problems." Dr Yang
"Oh well yeah I guess you could say it's boy problems. But its nothing I cant handle honest."
I smiled at him from across the counter, picking up my coffee and slurping down the delicious hot coffee. This place makes pretty good stuff considering it's a hospital and many would say hospitals don't have good food and drinks when this one clearly does.
"I'm sure you can handle it but I'm here if you need to talk. We are work mates after all." Dr Yang
"That's true. Thank you Dr Yang."
He waves me off with a smile and a roll of the eyes.
"Oh please call me Ben. It's my English nickname. Everyone around here calls me Ben."
I only nod and place my cup back down. I didn't know that since every time I've been around him everyone calls him Dr Yang.
"But we don't call you ben, DR Yang."
At the same time Ben and I looked up to the now two new figures standing at the end of the table. Both copying each others body language with crossed arms and stern faces. If anything they look pissed to see Ben sitting in front of me.
"Ah, Jimin, Jungkook. What a surprise, would you two like to join us?" Ben
He gestures to the two seats on the end of the table on his side and my side but the two angry doctors didn't look away from him.
"Well it is lunch time for most doctors right now and no, we wouldn't like to join you." Jimin
"We would join just Y/n though." Jungkook
I was taken back by their sudden rudeness to Ben when Ben has been nothing but nice to them. Come to think of it Taehyung also has a big hang up about Ben and so does Hoseok when he came to see me in my patients office to ask about lunch but I declined since a expected mother came into our ward in labour and required assistance.
"That's okay. I need to go anyway but maybe another time then." Ben
He held all smiles and stood up from his seat, picking up his coffee and giving me one last look before he walks away with a wave and small goodbye, leaving me alone with these two here.
Jimin and Jungkook continued to glare at him until he left but as they were too busy watching him I noticed something appearing on the back of Jungkooks neck and then Jimins too. It looked what seems to be dark coloured veins on their necks, except Jungkooks was purple and Jimins was a deep blue. I wouldn't normally think much of it but it started to spread the longer they stared at Ben until they finally looked at me with soften expressions.
"Y/n are you not getting anything to eat?" Jungkook
I was too lost in thought to process what he just said after what I just seen happen in the back of their necks.
"Huh? Sorry?"
Jungkook gives me a weird look and Jimin takes a seat in the chair Ben once sat in.
"Y/n you look so out of it today. What's wrong with you?" Jimin
What's wrong with me is that now I'm totally convinced they are my dragons but why wont they tell me?
"Are you two and the others hiding something from me?"
I asked them out of the blue and Jungkook took a step back in surprise and Jimin also widen his eyes and sat back in the chair for just a second, blinking at my question before sitting back up again to plant a fake smile on his face and nervously chuckle at me.
"No, why would you ask that?" Jimin
He's lying I know it.
"Are you sure about that? Jungkook? What about you?"
I looked up at him, staring intensely at him. All he did was stiffen, and stay frozen rooted to the floor and his hands by his sides.
"I knew it. You're all hiding something from me. Why can't you all just say it?"
Again I look at Jimin. His sadden expression and yet defeated look tells me I'm right but something is holding him back from confirming what I already know. I mean how long were they planning on keeping this a secret from me?
"Y/n, it's not what you're thinking. Maybe you're confused?" Jimin
I scoff at him, completely offended that he would try and suggest such a thing, to make me sound almost crazy by being confused.
"Confused about what Jimin? I know all your secrets and until you all decide to finally admit the truth to me then I don't think we should talk until further notice. Good bye boys."
I stood up and walked away, leaving my coffee and the speechless boys behind. I know they are my dragons now, I just know it. I can feel it and it hurts to think that they wont just come out and tell and for Jimin to try and say that I'm confused just hurts even more.
Why can't they be truthful about what they are?
