Chapter Nine
Secrets Revealed

Dawns POV:

Dawn's head hurt a lot. She couldn't see anything, she had gotten knocked out. Where was she?. Was she in the doctors office?. Was she okay?. She knew she wasn't. Fighting a Boulderwing at twenty eight wasn't the best idea. Darkthought was thirty and he was probably knocked out as well. How long did I fight him for?. It felt like a long time. I was fighting for my life in that cave. So was Darkthought but..... How did we lose?. Was he an Animus too?. Bronze is dead now, we don't have to worry about him anymore. She felt a familiar presence nearby. She looked around for them. "Hello?. Opal?, Are you there?". Dawn asked the presence around her. She didn't hear anything for a second. "Yes dear?. I'm here. I heard that Bronze passed away. How?". Opal asked her curiously. Dawn wanted to explain to Opal that he had attacked them first. She had a feeling she didn't have to. She didn't want to though. She didn't want to explain that one of her daughters had stabbed him. She sighed as she told Opal. "He got stabbed with a spear. It was enchanted". Dawn told Opal. She knew that she would have to tell his heir about this. She didn't even know if he had one. She looked at Opal and wondered if she was watching the whole fight. "That seems like a horrible end. I hate to say this but..... he deserved it. He was very unfit for the tribe and imprisoned dragons just because he could". Opal told Dawn as she floated around her. She appeared in front of her and had a crown on her head. Her Light Grey scales gleamed a bit against the light that appeared above her. Dawn felt weird. She slowly opened her eyes and one of the nurses checked on her. She was on a comfortable bed and she looked around for Darkthought. He was to her right. He didn't look that bad. He had a few large scratches on his body and some bandages on him. Mostly around his chest. He had one near his tail and one near his neck. He wasn't bleeding too bad. What was today?. She looked at one of the nurses. "What day is it?". Dawn asked the nurse. "It's Merrcoles. You were out for a day or so. You should stay here just in case". The nurse told her. Dawn stayed on the bed and waited. She didn't know how long she would be there. Occasionally Queen Mindseer visited them. She would walk around and check on each of them. She would tell them when a patient looked well enough to return to the Moonwing Kingdom. They didn't go back to work if they were badly injured, they got a sabbatical. They took time off of work and went back when they were all healed. She didn't know when they both would be able to go back to their cave right away. She discovered that they had to be there for three days. She was mostly worrying about her daughters but she knew they could fend for themselves. They were smart, she hoped so. The nurses helped them get up when they looked healed enough to leave. Darkthought had to take a week off of his job as a Science teacher just to be sure he was all healed.

One day when Dawn and Darkthought were both relaxing, Midnight, Dark Sunset and Violet approached them. "We have to tell you something". Midnight told Dawn and Darkthought. They both stopped reading their scrolls and looked up at them. They got out of their bed and stood in front of them. "What do you have to tell us?. Don't tell us that you have eggs.. you're only six!. You're still a dragonet!". Darkthought exclaimed as a few dragons walked by giving them strange glances. Dawn nudged Darkthought with her right wing. "DAD!. That's not what it is!". Midnight yelled. "Why would you say that?!". Dawn whispered as she looked at him. Darkthought shrugged as he looked at Midnight. She had a slight blush on her face. "What I wanted to tell you guys is that...". She paused for a moment. "I'm an Animus". Midnight told them as she sat and waited. "What's wrong with that?". Darkthought asked Midnight. Dawn nodded at Darkthoughts statement. She didn't know what was wrong with being an Animus, other than using your powers for bad. She knew there were certain limits and that certain dragons had to wear an armband, bracelet, necklace or horn ring with a jewel in it. It was so they could tell which dragons had them for fashion or not. Maybe they should get her a necklace. She always liked those, she kept stealing Dark Sunsets. "Oh.. That was unexpected. I thought you guys would overreact". Midnight told them. Dark Sunset seemed excited about something. Her wings were shaking in excitement. She wanted to tell them something obviously. "She also has something to tell you!". Dark Sunset told them excitedly. There it was. It was probably going to be something they told them later. Violet and Midnight must've internally cringed because they both stayed silent for a while. They were speaking telepathically. "I had a prophecy a while ago. It went like this". Violet took a breath as she recited her prophecy. "Turn your eyes, Your wings, Your flames. To the lands across the sea where a battle will be. One who is the Sea, One who is a tribe of three. One who is the galaxy. One who is the Moon and One who is the Sun. All to stop a battle that has begun". Violet breathed heavily. Dark Sunset and Midnight looked concerned. Dawn was genuinely concerned and so was Darkthought. She was concerned about the prophecy. She was afraid that she have to leave. It was a possibility. The possibility of one of her children leaving to find random strangers kind of scared her. "Is that all that happened?". Dawn asked Violet, Dark Sunset, Midnight looked at each other. Violet nodded to them. "There's a lot of things. First there were the visions. They were small at first like small pieces of land like sand dunes, rocky cliffs and snowy walls. Then other things started happening. They started showing me more. There were volcanoes, snow dens, sandstone cities and then the forest appeared. There were trees and dragons. But they were different!. They had feathers, lava in them, Solarwings with Moonwing features and Moonwings with Solarwings features. There were also some with eight legs and four eyes. They were strange but I know what I have to do. Sorry for my rambling". Midnight and Dark Sunset nodded supportively, She continued. "The other thing that happened was that I have to leave tomorrow or the next day. For my prophecy. I'll come back safe I promise, I might bring some things back as well". Violet told them.

Dawn and Darkthought weren't sure what to think. At first she thought that Violet was just talking about her visions. Now that she knew what was happening. She wasn't sure about it. Her daughter was going on some journey where she would meet random dragons. She would make some friends at least. Her mind thought as she looked at Violet. She wondered what Darkthought thought about this. A flash of purple and pink, walking together. A dessert with lots of sand and a Solarwings. Along with a city that was freakishly tall. The vision had stopped and she was staring at Violet. She sighed softly and lowered her head. "Alright just..". She paused for a second. "Be careful, please?". Dawn asked Violet as Dark Sunset and Midnight looked concerned. Violet nodded to her and walked to her cave to pack. Dark Sunset seemed excited for her. "Let's get you ready for a prophecy!. I'm so excited!". Dark Sunset whisper yelled to Violet. Dawn just stood in the same spot for a few seconds. She didn't know what to do. She felt.. insentient. Like something else was auto piloting her body. She just walked over to the bed and began reading her scroll. She barely understood what the scroll was about. Something with Leafwings an a war with another unknown tribe called Hivewings. She didn't even know what the war was about she hadn't even heard of these tribes. Apparently this strange continent was North of Serrene which was called Pyrriha. Dawn wasn't much of a history dragon but she found it entertaining. It was something to read. Violet had come into their room a while later and smiled weakly. She was trying to make everything seem fine. "I wanted to say see you later. Until I came back..". Violet told them. Dawn has gotten up and so had Darkthought. Violet walked over and hugged them lightly. Dawn and Darkthought hugged her back. A dragon had run up to Violet and stopped her for a moment. She hugged her and then looked at her for a second. "You're leaving?. Can you get me something cool from whenever you're going?". Windrunner asked Violet pleadingly. She looked a bit sad as well. She looked like she was eight and Light Grey scales with a darker underbelly. She had a horn ring and silver glasses. She was generally a nice dragon from what she heard from Violet and Midnight. She heard from Violet that Windrunner kept jars of bugs and parts in amber. She also liked rocks. She was pretty cool if you asked her. "Sure. What do you want?". Violet asked Windrunner as she looked through her bag to make sure everything was there. Windrunner thought for a moment. She seemed to try and think of something strange. Windrunner looked up from her thinking. "Can you get me a plant?. Not anything weird, maybe a flower?". Windrunner asked her. Violet smiled and nodded to her. "Sure. Are you running out?". Violet asked her. Windrunner shook her head. "No, I just want more". She told her. Violet nodded in agreement. The sun was beating down on them aggressively. She looked back at them for a moment before waving and lifting her wings and flying away. She flew until she was a small purple dot in the distance. Dawn wasn't sure what to do. She didn't know wether or not to ignore her feelings. She decided to reread her scroll again. She didn't know why. It reminded her of how King Starwatcher sent a letter to King Fossil about him being king. Darkthought went to hang out with Fatefinder for the day after that. She thought it was nice. Dawn was about to reread the scroll a third time before she heard something. Scraaape. Dawn tried to ignore the noise. It happened a second time. Scraaaaape. Dawn huffed and tried to read. It came a third time. Scraaape. Dawn was a bit irritated with whatever was making the noise. She got out of bed and put the blankets neatly back on the bed. She saw a few other dragons crowded by the entrance trying to find the source of the noise as well. She looked over the edge and tried to find it. What was making that noise?. She saw a dragonet point to a place near the slope of the entrance. Dawn saw something retreat into a hole in the stone wall. She went to the stone hole near the wall by the slope. It was a scavenger. A bit taller than the others she saw. Maybe it was an adult scavenger. She reached her talons in the hole and carefully grabbed the scavenger. The scavenger squeaked as she held it. She carefully walked to Fatefinders lab. She saw that the lab was a bit messier than last time. A few papers were scattered around. Some flower beds were missing flowers and some were unrooted. Dawn grabbed one of the plastic cages on the shelf and gently placed it inside. It was squeaking a bit before it stopped. She watched it for a moment and realized that it has holding something. Dawn hadn't noticed it before but it was flipping through the pages. Suddenly the scavenger spoke. "Where is... my daughter?". The scavenger asked. She was surprised by this and a bit shocked. She hadn't realized that they were smart. She looked at the book and then at the scavenger. Was the scavenger studying their language?. If they were, it was a bit entertaining. "What do you mean?. We've never seen any other scavengers around here". Dawn told the scavenger. The scavenger looked through the book and shook its head in frustration. "You know!. My daughter was kidnapped!". The scavenger told her in an angered tone. She almost felt bad for the scavenger. She knew she would do anything to find her daughters. If it meant tearing down the small scavenger towns, then she would. If she had to learn their language to find them, then she would at least try.  She sighed in disappointment. Dawn wasn't sure what to tell the scavenger. "I'm sorry about that but we haven't had any scavenger sightings near here. Maybe you can try the Webwings near the SouthWest coast". Dawn told the scavenger as she picked up the cage. She flew out of the lab and into the sky. She knew that there was a scavenger town around here somewhere. She had passed it after her escape from the Boulderwing prison. By the time she had reached the scavenger town. It was almost sunset. She had carefully set the scavenger free and quickly flew back to her cave. It felt like going back took longer than going there. It was strange. She was tired when she got back. Darkthought was sleeping when she got back. She didn't know if her daughters were. She was too tired to check. She got into bed with Darkthought and fell asleep. Not before she felt something cold slip onto one of her talons.

She had awoken in her bed. Her Pollen Yellow bed sheets were the opposite of her Sage Green walls with a Pistachio rim around them. The doors to her balcony were closed. The glass in the doors was fairly clean. Her little sister, Weaver, started to squirm on top of her. She gently woke her. "Beetle, wake up!. We have to see mom and then we get to go see Webby!". Tarantula whispered to her. Weaver had excitedly gotten out of bed and carefully got onto the floor. Tarantula had gotten up from her bed and tiredly made her bed. She opened the door to her room and went downstairs a bit excitedly. Her mom, Acid, has always brought books home from her job. She worked as a librarian from seven to nine. The reason she bought books home was so they could read something while she was at work. She had already read every book on her shelf out of boredom. Her four eyes eventually got tired. "Hey mom!. Did you bring a book?". Tarantula asked Acid. Weaver who was behind her buzzed her wings in excitement. So did she. Her mom checked the bag she had slung over her chest. She sighed softly. "I'm sorry dear, I forgot. I was caught up with my work". Acid told her as she sullenly walked into the living room. Tarantula sighed as Weaver and her walked back up the stairs. Even thought Weaver was about a year younger than her she was small. She looked younger than most dragons. Even though she was five now, she looked like she was four. Whenever most dragons she was with would ask Weaver's age. They would be surprised when she said five. She opened the door to her room. Weaver happily ran over to the balcony doors and opened them. Weaver was very excited when they visited Cobweb. They were usually happy when they went to visit Cobweb. They stood on the balcony, Weaver got on her back and they flew into the secluded forest.

Dawn jolted awake from her sleep. What was THAT?!. That wasn't a vision was it?. No, visions usually come in parts. That was like... a flash forwards?. What was that?. She checked her talons. Whatever was on her talons was gone. Her Moonstone ring was still there. She didn't know what was on her talons.

Whatever happened to Tarantula and Weaver she hoped they were okay. She hoped everyone in Violets prophecy was okay. Including herself.
