Chapter 40- Saying Goodbye

"You did good (L/N)." Gang Orca walked up to you and patted your head. You tried to smile, but you just felt upset. Gang Orca noticed it, but said nothing as you walked off to checked the scoreboard. Everyone stood around the board as the announcer spoke up.

"The amount of people who passed are organized by last name. The points were based on the times you messed up or did a good job on saving civilians, scores below 50 will not pass," the tired man said.

"For those who didn't pass, there are remedial classes." The labels were then shown to all of you and you just looked for your friends' names. you smiled as you kept seeing your classmates' names, all but Bakugou and Todoroki.

You got sad that they weren't on the board, and mostly thinking that you won't see them as semi-pros.
'I mean Kacchan I would get because he isn't exactly the one who save the injured, but since Todoroki's fight with Inasa-' your thoughts were interrupted by Ashido and Uraraka running up to you with big smiles.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! did you look at the board?! Your name is there!" Your eyes widen slightly and turn to search for your last name. Then you saw it.

(L/N) (Y/N)

You stared at your name, not believing it.
"But... I thought..." You trailed off in confusion.
"I said that if they can't get your collar, you win. I never said that you'll fail if it's taken off," You turn to see Gang Orca taking off his restraints.

"I had to evaluate you based on how you followed my commands and how you acted being brainwashed, and you did an incredible job." he gave you thumbs up as your eyes started to water. you jumped and hugged him, making him chuckle and hug back.

"Don't thank me, you were the one who really showed your worth," he said. you let go and smiled at him, bowing and running off to talk to your friends.
You stopped and turn to Todoroki, who looked down. You frowned you walked up to him, and held his hand. He jumped slightly and turn to face you, his facing heating up.

"I'm sorry that you didn't pass, but you did do a great job, I'm still proud of you," you said smiling softly at him. He gave a small smile back and squeezed your hand, making you flustered and run your neck.
"(Y/N), I've been meaning to ask you-"

"TODOROKI!!"

You jumped as you saw Inasa walking up to you two, staring at Todoroki for a moment, then slammed his head on the ground again.
"I'm truly sorry that you didn't pass, it was my fault! Forgive me!" He said clenching his teeth.

"It's ok, it was my fault too, after what you said I have a lot to think about," he explained. You looked at him for a moment and smiled. He really did changed.
"Anyways, here's your paper that shows you what points you got and what you did wrong," people in suits then handed out papers to the ones who passed. You thanked the man and looked to see that you got 86 points.

"Oh wow! You got so much points (Y/N)!" Uraraka said.
"Yeah, you did great too, I'm proud," you side hugged her, making her blush.
"T-thank you!" Bakugou glared at you two, mostly at Uraraka.
'Damn lizard bastard, if I had pass you would be admiring me instead' He thought.

The announcer then talked about how passing made you all equal to pros, but still have a lot to learn. He then talked about the ones who failed can take remedial courses and still pass with you guys.
"You heard that Shoto? You can still be a hero," you said looking at him. He nodded and smiled softly.

"Thank you,"

It was about sunset when you were out of there with your licenses. Izuku had been looking down at his for the past ten minutes as you saw a few tears coming out of his face. You smiled and nudged him.
"Look how far you came Zuku-kun, from zero to hero in no time flat," you said grinning.

"Y-yeah! And look at yours! You look so cool!" He said admiring your license.
"Honestly this means so much since so many people helped me, and it shows how far we came together," he smiled wiping his tears.
"Todoroki! (L/N)!" You turn to see Inasa running towards you two.

"Todoroki I'll see you at the remedial course! But nothing's changed I still don't like you! And (L/N) I hope to see you again! Goodbye!" You sweat dropped as he ran back to his class. Izuku ran to talk to one of them as you heard your siblings' voices.

"(Y/N) you did it! You finally got a license!" Dart ran and jumped into your arms. You caught her and spun her around.
"I sure did! Did you see me?" You asked as Pouncer and Ruffrunner grabbed your legs.
"We did! And you were so cool! That whale hero was pretty convincing of being a villain!" Pouncer said with stars in his eyes.

"And you were so strong of fighting that half human!" Ruffrunner beamed.
"Ok kids let her go, we need to go home now," your mom chuckled as your parents walked up to you.
"Aw really? We want to stay more!" They whined.
"Don't worry guys I'll be ok," you smiled at them, but you were also sad that they're leaving so soon.

"But why now? We want to see more of you fighting!" Pouncer nuzzled your leg.
"Remember the agreement, we stay to see (Y/N) get her license and we go home," your dad explained picking them up.
"Do we really have to go?" Dart asked you sadly.

"I'm afraid so Dart, but I have to ask one thing," you turn to your dad.
"How about one last family flight?" You asked. Your dad's eyes lit up and he excitedly nodded as you turn to see Aizawa and Joke walking up to you guys.
"Aizawa-Sensei, can I take permission for my family and I fly together one last time?" You pleaded. He thought for a moment and nodded.

"You all may, but only for an hour so others won't see you," he said.
"And make sure you aren't spotted," Joke piped up.
'Guess she's normal for now' you thought.
"Let's go! We're gonna race!" Pouncer ran off as Dart and Ruffrunner ran after him.

"Hey wait up, there's still cars that can run you over! Believe me!"

"Whooooooo!" Ruffrunner flew upwards and twisted around as Dart and Pouncer chased him. Your parents were doing their dance flight as you spun around the trio.
"How about that race huh? First one to make it to that treetop gets the title of favorite child!" You said smirking.

"You're on!" They said already flying away. You pretended to be so slow for them, as they kept pushing each other. You then got tired and flew  around them.
"Ooooooooo! I'm so cloooooooose! Just one swipe and I geeeeeet iiiiiiit!" You taunted as they playfully glared at you and flew faster.

Ruffrunner won, which made Dart and Pouncer sulk.
"Yay! I got favorite child!" He said happily.
"Aw I wouldn't say that, you're all my favorite!" Your mom said smiling.
"Not to me," you dad said casually, making your mom hit hit in the head

"Ow! I was kidding! You're all my favorite too!" He defended, but mouthed to you 'it's you'. You giggled and all of you flew down near the beach and laid there.
"I can't remember the last time we did all this together as a family," your mom said resting her head on your dad's shoulder.
"I think it's been 1,000 years ago," your dad mumbled closing his eyes to sunbathe.

"I dare you to try and catch the biggest fish you can get from the water," Pouncer dared Dart, who agreed and tackled the shore, searching for fish.
"Dart remember to sleazy attack," you called out, as she nodded and jumped on something.

"Got it!" She said muffled through the fish squirming around.
"Dibs!" Pouncer wand Dart got into a tug of war as Ruffrunner jumped in too.

30 minutes in and your dad got up.
"Ok kids, time to go," your siblings drowned and nodded.
"I wish we could stay here forever," Dart mumbled.
"I wish too, but the alpha has to be there for his dragons, and (Y/N), can't keep taking care of you three, she has her own things to do," your mom said.

"Yep, and one of you might be alpha is (Y/N) deciders not to become the next alpha," your dad cheered them up.
"(Y/N), remember to fight for us ok?" Dart asked.
"Of course I will, you all mean so much to me," you said.

"Here you go (Y/N)," your dad gave you a red clothe, it had a symbol is it.
"It was my old tail wing, from an old friend, and I always kept it. I want you to have it now," he said giving it to. You touched it softly and stared at it.
"Do you like it?" He asked.

You said nothing as you just hugged him tightly, letting your emotions out and crying. He just hugged you back, also crying and resting his head on yours. Your siblings ran up and hugged you two as your mom joined the group hug.

"I'm gonna miss you guys," you choked out.
"We are too, our little NightLight" he whispered kissing your forehead and him finally letting go. You wiped your tears away as you saw your family flying up, giving you smiles and flying off.

You slightly reached out for them, but brought your hand back, clutching it to your chest. You heard footsteps closer and out of your peripheral vision, you see Gang Orca putting his hand on your shoulder. He said nothing as you turn and hugged him, sobbing again.
"It's ok, it's ok," he whispered, holding you tight like a parent would.

"You should get back to your class, they'll be wondering where you were," he said. You nodded and wiped your tears away as you walked side by side together.
"Why am I so weak when it comes to my family? Why does it hurt when they leave?" You choked out.
"Because you care about them, and that's ok. To me, family sometimes isn't blood related, but in your heart you know that they're family," he explained.

"But your family is one of a kind, you love them with all your heart, and I respect that," you finally wiped your tears away and smiled softly up at him.
"Thank you for letting me pass," you said changing the subject.
"And thank you, for being a great competitor. You'll be a wonderful sidekick, and up to a hero," he chuckled.

"Now go, your class is already on the bus," you nodded and ran to your bus, as Gang Orca walked off, but had a smile on his face.

"Great kid, and great hero,"
