Chapter Fifty Two: Homeward Bound
Lyanna didn't have many belongings to pack up. All she needed was her swords, her bow and arrows, Winter and Rey. Her only valuables other than those was her necklace, the Stark locket, her mother's gold Targaryen pendant and now one of Alize's rings, all on the one chain. Most of her clothes were thin, airy dresses, except for her leathers, which would be unsuitable for the harsh colds of the north and so Lyanna decided to leave them behind.
As she was packing, she heard the tent flutter open and Winter jumped off the bed to greet the newcomer, so Lyanna assumed it was Eryk. Eryk, who had grown to forgive Lyanna for causing Alize's death, had spent the night with Lyanna in her tent whilst she was sharpening swords until she heard him cry himself to sleep. He'd agreed to come home to Westeros with her, even though he had no memory of the country, so she was expecting him to want to go though Alize's things with her whilst they packed.
"Eryk, do you want to take some of Alize's dresses home with us or just her jewellery?" Lyanna asked, turning around only to see it wasn't Eryk at all, but Darrio Naharis, stood by Winter, scratching behind her ears as she wagged her tail.
"Dresses don't normally suit me if I'm honest, but I'm willing to try some for you," he smirked as she glared at him.
"What do you want?" She rolled her eyes.
"I heard you're leaving, Wolf Girl," he said, taking a few steps closer to her.
"You heard right," Lyanna shrugged.
"Why?"
"My parents are dead, my uncle is dead, and so are my brothers, and the north needs a Stark," Lyanna explained simply, though saying her brothers were dead caused her pain.
"And what, you think you can be the ruler the north needs?" He raised an eyebrow sarcastically.
"No, I'll put my sister on the throne that Robb deserved, and then I'm going to the wall,"
Darrio began to laugh, which Lyanna hated. What was so funny? It had always been her dream to go to the wall, and considering everything that was happening, it seemed like a peaceful life.
"That's a lie," Darrio said, almost snapping. He went closer to her, even taking hold of her chin, making her look at him. "I can see it in your eyes. What are you really going to do?"
Lyanna sighed. The wall was what she wanted, but it had always been out of her reach, and would most likely remain that way. It was what she wanted, but her life had constantly proved that she couldn't get what she wanted.
"I'm going to High Garden first, before the north," she sighed, seeing no point in keeping up a façade. "I need to find Alize's siblings, I promised her I'd protect them. Then it's on to Kings Landing to rescue Sansa,"
"So honourable, but then a suicide mission too," Darrio tutted, almost rolling his eyes.
"Better to die in honour than to live in shame," she shrugged.
"You sound like a philosopher," Darrio laughed, and Lyanna realised he was still holding her face, though his hand had moved upwards to hold her cheek, his other hand drifting to the small of her back to pull her closer. Lyanna felt herself blush.
"Jon used to say I sounded like a Maester," she remembered, trying to distract herself from her current position.
Her brother wasn't a good enough distraction, as Darrio Naharis moved his hand, his thumb gently caressing her lips. His touch made her stomach flutter slightly and her head cloudy. What was that feeling? Then she knew the answer; Lust. Of all people, to crave being held by Darrio Naharis, a sell sword of all people, she would of been ashamed if she wasn't enjoying it.
Her own hand moved up to his jaw, and caught in the moment, she pulled him into her and their lips collided. It was a moment of passion to the extent Lyanna could barely remember it and why she was even tasting the wine he had drank for breakfast from the inside of his mouth, and why he was biting her lip making her believe that it was bleeding. His hands moved to her collar, pulling her closer, before they slinked down feeling her body, all whilst she ran her hands through his hair, knotting it into her fingers.
Suddenly she remembered herself, and where she was and what was happening, and Lyanna pulled away sharply, almost yanking his hair as she moved back. Feeling her face flush red, she looked down, her hair falling into her face. Not caring how she felt, Darrio got close to her again, placing one hand on the small of her back, dragging her back to him, whilst his other hand pushed away her hair. Their eyes met, and Lyanna wondered what would happen if she stayed in the East. Would her sudden feelings of lust turn into something else towards Darrio Naharis? The look on his face suggested he would have liked that. He would have, but Lyanna wouldn't. She had more important things to do other than fall lustfully in love with a man that until a few hours ago she hated.
"That was a decent goodbye," she said, almost sharply, pulling away from him again.
"Only decent?" He raised an eyebrow as he reached out for her hand. Having her hand in his grip, he ran his thumb over her knuckles. "I'll miss you. Who will save my life now? Who will remind me of honour?"
Lyanna smiled slightly, before she said, "Goodbye, Darrio Naharis,"
"Goodbye, Lyanna Stark," he said gently, and she realised it was the first time he'd called her by her true name, and not 'Wolf Girl'.
Watching him leave the tent, Lyanna felt her heart ache slightly.

Upon the liberation of Yunkai, Daenerys had gained the ships in the city harbour, and whilst these were mostly merchant ships, they would still be good enough for the purpose Lyanna would use them for. Daenerys had set aside three for her niece, and since she'd promised an armed force, she'd asked her Unsullied to choose amongst themselves who would go with her. The battle from the night before had earned Lyanna the trust and admiration of the Unsullied, and around three hundred had volunteered, as well as about fifty of the Second Sons, who Darrio Naharis himself had told to go with Lyanna. He said going with her would turn them into soldiers of honour.
Lyanna walked onto the docks, holding Winter's leash, as Eryk followed. She smiled at the sight of the troops, her troops, lined up by the boats, although it made her feel selfish, taking the troops away from Dany, who probably needed them more than her. As she approached Dany, Lyanna found herself at a loss for words. Daenerys needed these ships and soldiers a lot more than she did, but yet here she was, sacrificing a part of her armed force and fleet just to make sure Lyanna can get home instead of supporting her through Essos.
"Dany..." She began, though realised she didn't know what to say. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "Thank you. Thank you for everything,"
"You were the first relative I met which treated me nicely. Growing up with Viserys I never knew family to be something to take pride in, since he was always threatening me, and then I met you and you always spoke so highly of your brothers and sisters, and I knew I had found not only a caring relative, but a close friend," After her small speech, Daenerys coughed, as if she was holding back her emotions. "I hope you find your family and get your home back,"
Lyanna threw herself at Dany at that point. She wrapped her arms tightly around her aunt and held her close, not wanting to let go. They'd gotten close in the year and a half that they had known each other, more like sisters than aunt and niece, and both found it difficult to imagine their lives without each other.
"Goodbye, Aunt Daenerys," Lyanna said as she pulled away, moving her hand to a salute as she backed away, closer to her ship.
"Goodbye, Lyanna Stark," Daenerys smiled sadly.
At that, Lyanna turned to see Eryk stood on the first ship, the biggest, her men waiting for her behind him. Her men, a hundred on each ship, all stood, expecting her next move. As she took her place next to Eryk, Winter padded off to the quarters below, hoping for some shade, Rey took off into the sky, making circles around the boats, whilst the men awaited her command.
"Where to, mi'lady?" One of them called, the one closest to the sails.
"High Garden," she called, causing Eryk's face to change to shock, but with a small smile playing across it, despite his pain. "Then King's Landing, then home,"

I am legit on fire with these updates.
I included the kids scene because someone told me that they shipped Lyanna and Darrio (Lyarrio) and I thought it'd be fun to write (though he's not her main love interest, and neither's Jon, so don't get your hopes up Jonna shippers). Hope you enjoyed it, the next few chapters are some of my favourites!
