Chapter Two- I battle with my bully
By the time I got to the cafeteria, I was all out of breath. I didn't know what I just heard, but I don't think I should've heard it.
Iliana was sitting next to Tim and his friends, of course. But she waved me over. I went over there, even though I didn't get any lunch. But I lost my appetite. Shame.
I sat next to Iliana, with Tim on her left and his friends by him. I saw Al, who wouldn't stop glaring at me. For some reason, his upper face seemed to be blurry. Probably just me out of breath.
"What happened to you?" Iliana asked me, but she didn't look worried.
"Ran from a teacher." I said, which was true, but not specific.
Iliana shrugged. Tim stared at me with interest. He was cute, with his light blonde hair and dark brown eyes, but not my type. Wait, I have a type?
"So you're Kat?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Did Iliana tell you about me?" I answered with a question.
He shook his head. "Al did. You don't look like a she-demon brat."
As Al coughed, Iliana laughed and said, "Not on the outside."
I gave her a look. Tim just stared at me for about ten more seconds, and looked away to hear a joke one of his buddies were saying.
"Weird." I mouthed to Iliana.
"Dreamy." She mouthed back.
As we talked, well they talked and I stayed quiet, I could feel Al staring at me. It was awkward and creepy, especially since his face was still blurry, and I was okay again.
Mr. Smith came into the cafeteria, and walked around, especially by our group. Al kept turning his head when he came by, for some reason.
As I smiled at another joke, Iliana gasped. "Kat! Your eyes!" She shrieked.
I looked around for something to see my reflection with, and Iliana shakily pulled out a small mirror. Figures. I grabbed the mirror and looked. Iliana was right to be freaked out. My once (rare) green eyes were now a dark purple.
"Holy Hades!" I dropped the mirror.
What did I just say?
"What did you just say?" Tim asked, wide-eyed.
"I-I" I stammered. Everyone was looking at me like I was a freak.
I liked Greek mythology, a lot, but never admitted it. So my shock just blurted it out.
Al just laughed. "What a purple eyed loser."
I glared at him, and gasped loudly. His face was no longer blurry. I could actually see his eyes- no, eye. He had one reddish brown eye in the middle of his forehead.
He smiled evilly at me, as he knew what I was seeing. Everyone else just stared at me like I was crazy.
"What is your problem?" Someone asked.
"Nobody sees that he has one eye?!" I pointed at Al, who was still smiling.
"Kat." Iliana's voice sounded a bit shaky. "I think you need to go to the nurse."
"I'm not crazy." I protested. "Well, okay, I am crazy, but not this time!"
"Oh no Kat's right." Al said, which surprised me.
I turned around, and saw that he was changing. He started growing taller, and his clothes grew with him. His muscles bulged even more. Soon he was 10 feet tall, and quite terrifying.
This time, people actually saw. I heard Iliana scream, and Tim curse.
"Looks like you got the ability sooner than I thought." Al laughed. "No matter. I'll still destroy you."
The cyclops threw the table aside, making people scream and scatter.
"What the heck, man!" I yelled. "Can't we just talk this over, possibly involving cookies?"
He just smirked and charged me. I quickly dived out of the way at the last second, did a somersault, and landed on one knee. Which was weird, considering I've never had fast reflexes or flexibility.
He turned around. "Looks like you've gained all of the abilities."
Just then, Mr. Smith stood in front me. He had his baseball bat that he had in the closet. Only, it wasn't a bat anymore. It was a sword. A double-edged bronze sword about 3 feet long from the pointy end to the leather hilt end.
"This girl is under my protection." He said calmly.
Al the cyclops laughed again. "Aren't you too old for this?"
Mr. Smith straightened up. "I'm only 34!"
Al charged. I jumped out of the way, but Mr. Smith stood there.
"Run!" I yelled at him.
He winked at me, then jumped up at the last second. As he was in the air, he kicked Al in the face, and landed on his big fat neck. He turned and stabbed Al's back. Not like the expression.
"Gah!" Al threw Mr. Smith off of him, but he just landed on the floor.
"Want to help?" Mr. Smith asked me.
"Who are you?" I gaped at him.
"Oh. My name is Malcolm, and I am a son of Athena."
"That just makes it more confusing!" I threw my arms up.
He smiled and turned to the cyclops, who recovered. His smile faded. "How did he recover so quickly?!"
Al charged Malcolm, and slammed him into the wall. I was now aware of everyone in the cafeteria screaming, and the teachers trying to make them go through the exit calmly. Iliana, Tim, and his friends were cowering against the wall. Some friends. So it was just me, Malcolm, and a ten foot tall cyclops.
Malcolm looked hurt, but he stabbed the cyclops in the foot, and Al roared.
"You know you can help now." He walked over to me slowly, as he must have been in pain.
"How?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Um..." He looked around. Then, he looked at the ceiling, which was hidden by lights and catwalks. Malcolm grinned, and handed me his sword. "Distract him."
He ran off, leaving me with a slightly heavy sword and a monster.
I held up the sword at Al, who just sneered. "Please. You can't stop me. I will help my master rise. She has many things for me to do, but destroying you is a main one."
He charged (for like the third time. Gosh, doesn't this guy have other moves?), and time slowed down. He had his arms spread wide, so I couldn't move to the side. And I doubted that I could jump like Malcolm, so that wasn't an option. Instead, I ran at him, which seems like a stupid idea, but I slid under Al, who ran into the wall.
His head was stuck in the wall, which I was kinda funny. I took this time to jab the sword into the back of his knee. I heard his muffled roar in the wall, and he broke free. Al slammed me halfway across the floor against a table, which hurt.
By this time, half of the people in the cafeteria were gone. My "friends" were still cowering against the wall.
Al took a round table and threw it at me like a frisbee. I crawled out of the way as the two tables crashed together, with food flying everywhere.
"Stay still!" Al yelled.
Just then, I heard something from above. I glanced up and saw Malcolm doing something with a light right above Al. I realized what he was doing, and decided that Al should be the one who stays still.
"Stay back." I warned him, as he took a step closer. I walked toward him, so he wouldn't move. "Don't try anything , or I'll use my, um, super awesome secret power."
Al laughed, but I still ran at him. Well, I'm kind of new at this, so he just picked me up. The sword was even heavier in air, so I ended up dropping it. Some hero.
"Pathetic." Al said. "I would eat you, but this would be more amusing."
He put his hand up as high as he could, while I struggled.
At that moment, I heard a click from above, and the light fell. Al looked up, too, and just had enough time to say, "uh oh." before it crushed him. Unfortunately, I was about fifteen feet in the air. I fell, and hit the table. On my head, obviously.
"Kat!" Malcolm yelled.
I couldn't hear anything else because I blacked out.

Malcolm ran over to Kat's unconscious body. He picked her up, leaving the sword, and ran outside.
"I swear if she dies this would have been all for nothing." He muttered.
He ran to the main doors, and a teacher told him to stop. But he went through and outside. He kept running until he got to the side of the school. Then, he set Kat down, and rummaged through his pockets. Malcolm brought out an extra small water spraying thing-a-ma-jig, and a drachma, a Greek coin.
He sprayed the air, making a rainbow. Then, he threw the drachma in it, and said, "Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering. Show me Chiron."
The rainbow mist started evaporating, but Malcolm sprayed some more water onto it. The connection strengthened, and a man was seen with brown hair and a scruffy beard.
"Ah, Malcolm my boy." Chiron said. "How is everything doing?"
"Not good, Chiron. Turns out one of my students was a monster, and attacked Kat."
Chiron leaned forward. "Kat? Katherine the mortal? Her child?"
Malcolm nodded.
"Is she okay?"
Malcolm shook his head. "She was knocked out. She has gained her abilities."
Chiron looked troubled. "Very well. We must bring her to camp. I will send a ride over."
Malcolm nodded, and swiped through the image, disconnecting it.
Then, he looked at everyone who was gathered outside.
"Please don't notice us please don't notice us." He prayed.

About twenty minutes later, everyone has either gone home or went back inside. They just assumed that two kids, Kat and Al, have started a fight. Then, when the light fell, they discovered that a rogue teacher, Mr. Smith, had dropped it as a result of drugs. So now the police will be after Malcolm. Great. Then when they asked Iliana questions, she said that Kat's eyes changed colors, and Kat kept seeing things. They still weren't sure about that.
So the parking lot was clear. That was good, because their rides were here. Two figures appeared from the sky, and took the shapes of horses with wings. Pegasi.
Malcolm waved at them, and they trotted over. He picked up Kat, and put her on the beautiful white horse with black mane and tail. He also had a black diamond on his forehead.
"Make sure she doesn't fall." Malcolm told the horse. The horse, a boy, snorted, as if saying, please. I got this.
Malcolm then got on his brown horse with a darker mane and black spots on the flank.
After he was settled, they lifted into the air. Malcolm has gotten used to the feeling, but it was still an incredible experience. He just hoped that Kat wouldn't wake up yet, or fall off.
-<+>- Kat's POV -<+>-
I had a weird dream that everyone at school had one eye, and then I jumped through a window and started flying. It felt so realistic, I could actually feel the wind against my face. And I could feel something else... hair? That's pretty weird.
I tried opening my eyes, but it was difficult. And when I did open them, I just saw darkness. I managed to lift up my head, even though it hurt. I saw that it was black hair that I felt and saw. No, it was black horse hair. And I could still feel the wind?
I blinked, and looked around. There were clouds, a blue sky, and Mr. Smith on a brown horse with wings flying next to me. Wait what.
I looked down, and saw the city far below me.
So I did the natural thing; I screamed.
Mr. Smith looked startled. "Kat! I was hoping you wouldn't wake up yet."
"Wha- What's going on?!?" I grabbed onto the horse's mane. "Why am I on a oreo colored pegasus high in the air?!"
"So you know what a pegasus is." Mr. Smith- Malcolm, nodded. "This is probably weird, but just wait until we are on the ground before you freak out."
I gave him a crazy look, and he ignored it.
"Where in the Hades are we going?!"
"What did you say?" He looked startled.
"I like Greek stuff okay?" I yelled.
He looked ahead and narrowed his eyes in thought. I looked ahead as well, and saw that we were now above a forest, and were descending.
"We are going to- Woah!" I stopped as I saw where we were.
We were actually going to a camp. There were around 20 multicolored cabins in a rectangle, an outdoor eating place, a giant blue house, a race track, and so much more. All of it was surrounded by forest except a small part that was a beach. I could barely see people wearing orange shirts.
"Where are we?!" I couldn't stop saying stuff loudly.
He looked at me as if it was obvious. "Camp Half-blood."

Woo hoo! If you guys haven't guessed yet, Mr. Smith is Malcolm, Annabeth's sibling. He was mostly seen in Battle Of The Labyrinth, when intruding upon Annabeth and Percy in the Athena cabin.
Also,
Next update is on Thursday, September 3rd.
Rock on, my little rebels.
