Chapter Four- A Door Punches Me
I used a map on the website below to show the camp, so I didn't get anything wrong.

My self tour was going rather well until I got slobbered on.
I first went to the building I saw before by the volleyball court, and found out it was arts and crafts. There were rows of tables with people working on projects like statues, noodle art, paper mâché swords, and a bunch more. Some guy was making a hydra piñata. In the back were boxes that were probably supplies.
Before anyone could see me, I slipped out and kept walking.
There was a lake in front of me to the left where there was a dock and people canoeing. Farther down left was some kind of amphitheater with rows of logs for seats surrounding a big fire. Tending the flames of the fire was a little girl in old-fashioned prairie clothes. Despite us being hundreds of feet apart, she stared right at me and smiled. I didn't know what to do, so I smiled and waved. She waved back, and went back to the fire.
Anyways, farther past the fire was a cool looking climbing wall. I watched some people climbing up, and was startled when lava started pouring down a part of it. But people quickly maneuvered out of the way. Cool.
In front of me was a river spilling into a lake, with a little bridge going over. A small group of about 3 camper girls were on one side staring over the edge, giggling, and whispering. I walked to the side of the river, and saw what they were looking at. Someone was at the bottom. I couldn't exactly see their features, but they seemed to have black hair.
"They're going to drown!" I yelled to the campers.
"No, they aren't." One girl said, like I was stupid.
"What...?" I was confused. I started to walk in the river, but one of the campers spoke.
"Are you that dense?" They rolled their eyes. "He's a legacy of Poseidon. So, of course, he can breathe underwater."
"Um, okay." Things could be weirder. "Uh, what's a legacy...?"
Another girl groaned. "Clearly you are new. His dad is a son of Poseidon, so he's a legacy, a descendant."
The third one whispered. "She could be just dumb."
They giggled.
"Oh gee, I'm so sorry that I didn't know something." I walked on the bridge. "I just got here, so the least you could do is quit gawking at that guy and be a little nicer." I walked away before they could answer.
Still, it seemed very weird about how Poseidon has a kid. That had a kid. That was in a river. Then again, things could get a lot weirder. Little did I know that they will.

I didn't know I was walking on a little road until I was at a fork in the road. No, not a utensil. There were two paths. The one on the right led to the weird rectangular assortment of building that I saw earlier. The one on the left led to some kind of coliseum, or arena. There were also a few other buildings farther on.
I wanted to go to the right, to the weird buildings, but I started walking to the left before I knew it. My feet acted like they were working on their own.
I made it to the miniature coliseum. I managed to see straw dummies inside before something large smacked into me.
I was knocked on the ground, raising up my hands as if to deflect a blow, but it didn't come. Instead, I felt something slimy all over my hands. I lowered them, and something pink and slimy licked my face.
"Mrs. O'Leary! Heel!" A male voice called.
The licking stopped, and a big weight was lifted off of me. I managed to crawl backwards and get up, covered in gooey stuff.
I saw what attacked me, and my stomached dropped. A giant dog, about the size of a tank, that had gray fur and reddish-brownish eyes that glowed. Despite the dog's terrifying appearance, it just sat there wagging its tail and panting. It looked like it was smiling, too.
I looked around for my savior, and saw a guy walking toward the dog. He had a giant biscuit in his hand. He fed it to the dog, completely unafraid. "Good girl."
He turned toward me. He had brown hair in a red headband and brown eyes. Bronze armor on over a orange tee shirt, and jeans. He had a sword in his hand, which didn't surprise me. He was decent looking, but was sweaty, so he must have done a lot of exercise. Or not, after all, I'd break a sweat running a quarter of a lap around the football field.
"No need to be a baby. Mrs. O'Leary is the nicest hellhound you'll meet. Other than her pups, that is."
I tilted my head and narrowed my eyes slightly. "Pups...?-"
Then, I heard a high pitched bark, and saw 3 mini hell hounds the size of German Shepards. They came barreling toward me.
"Oh crap!" I yelled and ran the other way. I heard the guy behind me laughing, and I felt annoyed.
Finally, the giant dog, Mrs. O'Leary, barked, and her puppies came back to her. They were actually pretty cute playing with each other.
I walked back and the guy was still laughing. "Done yet?"
He straightened. "Yep. I'm good."
He stabbed his sword in the ground and leaned on it. "Are you new here?"
I nodded, and he frowned. "And you don't have a guide or anything? When'd you get here?"
"I don't know. Maybe ten minutes ago."
"Did you talk to Chiron?"
"Yes. But he had something to do. And no one will give me a tour."
He sighed. "Well I guess I have to. I'm Chris."
"Kat."
"Cat? Like the animal?" He said.
"Chris? Like the annoying guy?" I countered.
He raised an eyebrow. "Okay, so you can stand your ground. Well then, let's go." He walked out of the Arena. I rolled my eyes and walked after him.
-<+>-
"So what have you seen?" Chris asked me, kicking up dust.
"Let's see." I coughed and waved the dust away. "Pretty much everything on the other side of the river, then just the Arena."
"Okay." He clapped his hands once. "So I guess we can go to the cabins first. Judging by the always confused look on your face, I'm guessing you haven't been claimed?"
I shook my head.
"Well maybe you'll feel something special."
"Yeah, like the urge to not punch you." I muttered.
"Watch it, Litter box." He warned. "You may be a girl, but gender doesn't matter here. At this camp, you can't go around talking back to people. Especially people like me."
I turn around so he couldn't see my that-isn't-going-to-happen face. I am nothing if not a person that talks back.
"Let's just go." He walked ahead, again. He seemed like an impatient person.

"Okay so here we have the cabins." Chris walked near the middle. The cabins surrounded a plain dotted with statues and nature stuff. "Ever since the second Titan War, it's been rebuilt. And after the last war against Gaea, maybe 18 or 20 years ago, they've rebuilt again to make the cabins more roomy."
I was confused about the wars he mentioned, but I went with it. "So what do the cabins represent?"
"The gods. If you're a descendant of Zeus, you live in the Zeus cabin. Same for each one. Speaking of the Zeus cabin..."
We stopped in front of the largest cabin. It was made of white material, quartz or marble, and had columns in the front. It was very big, and I could barely hear thunder inside. The place actually looked like a bank more than a cabin.
"Wow. Cool."
Next to it on the other side of the path was a cabin similar to the Zeus cabin, but smaller. It also had peacock patterns on the columns.
"Hera. She has no demigod children, but the cabin is honorary." Chris looked bored.
I'll spare you the boring tour, but not the cool cabins. Cabin 3 is a low ceiling cabin built with stones with fossils of sea creatures in them. The door was closed, but I could smell the ocean when I came close. Poseidon's cabin.
Cabin 5 was terribly painted blood red, with barbed wire and a boar head above the door. There was rock music blaring from inside, and I could tell it was Ares, the god of war.
Next was cabin 7. It was a bright gold cabin that seemed to shine. It was like light emits from it. I could take a guess and say it was Apollo, god of the sun, archery, healing, and music.
Then there was cabin 9, Hephaestus's cabin, the god of fire and black smithery. It looked kind of like a mini factory, with smoke chimney things coming out, and brick walls. The door looked very high tech and had complicated looking locks.
Cabin 11 was the only cabin that actually looked like one. It looked old fashioned, made of wood. The door was open, and kids were running around messing up their beds and stealing stuff. I asked who the god was, and Chris said it was Hermes. He also said that they used to have a lot of undetermined kids stuffed in there, but ever since the war against Gaea, more and more kids have been claimed. I wonder what they do to claim their kids.
Cabin 13 looks pretty spooky, but simple. It was kind of big, with obsidian walls. It also had cool looking green torches along the walls. Again, I didn't know who it was, but Chris said it was Hades. Cool.
Cabin 15 was next, and it looked like an old prairie house. It pretty much looked like a hill on the sides and back, but the front was flat wood. I could barely hear the sound of violins playing. It sounded so peaceful, I yawned and was tempted to lay down and take a nap. But I pinched myself, and realized that it was Hypnos, God of sleep.
(<> NOTE- these next cabins aren't mentioned much, so bare with my imagination<>)
The next cabin was a bright wood color. It had golden trimmings and those laurel things all over the walls. A bunch of Nike shoes were next to the door. I should've expected that from Nike, goddess of victory. She was cabin 17.
I was a little shocked at the next one. It looked like a casino. It was marble white with neon lights outlining it, a hedge surrounding it, and a fountain in the middle with rose bushes surrounding it. A glowing orb was on top of the double glass door. It seemed a little weird, but it must've been the Goddess of Fortune, Tyche, also cabin 19.
Cabin 20 was stone bricks that had little decorations on them. It was pretty tall, and was circular. I was curious about the goddess or god, but then blue sparks exploded out of a circular window on the second floor.
"What da Hades was that?" I was bewildered.
Chris stared at me. "You already know how to cuss like a demigod, huh?"
"Yeah. But what god is that?" I pointed.
"Hecate." Chris leaned back as red sparks exploded from another window. "Goddess of magic. Can you do me a favor and step to the door?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Ohhkay..."
I walked up to the door. There was a welcome mat that I stepped on. As soon as I did, there was some force that shot me back. I fell on my butt right by Chris, who was laughing his off.
"I think the door just punched me." I laid down staring at the sky.
"Hecate kids... don't like to be disturbed." He said between laughs.
"You're disturbed." I managed to get up.
"Whatever." He wiped a tear away. It wasn't that funny.
"Let's just go."
-<+>-
Cabin 18 was like a daycare. It had light pink walls and blue trims. The windows had little pictures on them that looked like 3 year olds drew them. It must have been Hebe, goddess of youth.
I was a little confused about cabin 16. It had white walls outlined with black, and had no door, so I was able to see a Yin and Yang symbol on the floor. Chris explained that Nemesis, goddess of Revenge, liked to test people's luck if they went inside. Um, okay.
Cabin 14 was obviously Iris, goddess of the rainbow. It's quartz walls had a shimmering rainbow on all sides, and had a carved rainbow above the door with HOPE written on it. There were two small fountains in front that reflected a rainbow.
(<> And so ends my imagination. These are cabins that Rick described. But some more details will be added on, just because it's been 18 years, and the cabins have changed a little. <>)
I didn't like Cabin 12. Nope. It had vine covered walls with some grapes on them. That's all I really cared about. Dionysus's cabin, god of wine and annoyance.
Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and love, really liked Barbie houses. Her cabin, 10, looked like one. The walls were a light pink, with windows that had lace curtains. There were potted carnations under the windows, and the door was pink.
"Haha nope." I walked right past it.
Cabin 8 was better. It was mostly a light gray kind of stone, but a silvery light was emitting off of it. Animals running were carved in the walls. Artemis, goddess of the moon.
"I thought Artemis didn't have any children." I was confuzzled.
"The cabin's honorary. Of course there are the hunters of Artemis, a bunch of girls who go around and hunt and live forever."
"Awesome! Where can I find them?"
"In the woods somewhere. Oh, and they can't date or marry boys. Ever."
"Oh." I bit my lip. "Never mind."
Cabin 6 was more my style. It was carved stone, with an owl above the door. But I looked through a window, and saw a library and workshop. It was Athena's cabin, goddess of wisdom, and I hoped I was her kid. I thought Athena was a maiden goddess too, but I saw teens in there, so I went with it.
The last cabin was cabin 4. It was made of wood and had vines growing. Flowers were on the dirt roof, and two small trees were growing near the door. Wasn't hard to guess that it was Demeter, goddess of farming and nature and stuff like that.
"And that's all for the cabins." Chris spun on his heel to face me. "Feel anything?"
"No." I was disappointed.
"Oh well. Over there is a little campfire and some statutes and stuff."
He was referring to the middle of the cabins, where a small campfire was, along with a bunch of statues and flora.
"Cool."
"All the way over there." He pointed past the Hera cabin. "Is the mess hall. We eat there. Further past that is the beach."
I saw a bunch of columns in a square with tables inside. Another fire was roaring. Past that was just a regular beach with absolutely nothing on it. No towels or umbrellas, and no waste or trash. My kind of beach.
"And the forest?" There was a massive forest next to the beach that spread farther on.
"Don't go in there alone. Or die." He said, nonchalantly.
"Right."
"And since you already have seen the arena, we have to go further down."
We started walking.

Boring? Stupid? Yea okay. But, surprisingly, I made the deadline. Next one shall be on Thursday, September 10. Maybe I'll have these be on Mondays and Thursdays. Oh well.
Rock on, my little rebels.
