Annabeth POV

As I look around the park I spot families sitting together and laughing while my own heart swells with longing for a family like that. My mind swarms with the faces of my ex-family. I hardly notice when a woman sat down beside me, and when I finally do I notice that she is carefully watching the playground. 'Probably watching her child,' I thought. I quietly fumbled around in the small backpack I carried looking for the book i brought with me. As soon as the woman laid eyes on the book in my hands her eyes widened. I pretend not to notice her gaze and kept my eyes glued to the page untill the woman decided to speak.

"Oh my goodess! That book is HUGE!," she exclaimed. Well, she wasn't wrong.It was pretty big for most people but I have always craved intelligence. "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" she asked. I hesitated not knowing if I should trust this woman with any information about me but decided that age wasn't very important.

"I'm seven" I replied in a somewhat- quiet voice.

"You must be very- PERCY!" she said. At first I was confused but then I saw her walking over toward a little boy with raven black hair and sea green eyes. "Perseus Jackson!" she yelled "What did you do!"
