Micaela's POV Cont'd

"Hello, Antonio" I tried to sound audible enough like I wasn't just crying a minute ago.

"Hi Micaela, how are you?"

"Uhmm good, I guess. Is everything okay?"

"Not really. I have bad news for you, Micaela" he replied.

I almost choked on my breath and sudden sweat came to my forehead. "What happened to Ferd? Is he okay? Please tell me he is fine, Antonio!" panic could be vivid in my voice.

"Fernando is fine, you have nothing to worry about" he replied and I sigh heavily with relief. For a moment I thought something bad has happened to my husband, my forever love.

"I'll advise you don't worry about Fernando, but rather worry about yourself" he added shortly after.

"What...what do you mean?" I stuttered confusedly.

"I don't know how to say this Micaela, but I just have to say it anyway I can for you to understand. Your husband is filing a divorce with you and I'm his attorney. You will be getting your divorce papers tomorrow, that's one. Secondly, he Is taking you to court for raping him, Micaela. I'm sorry but...."

Antonio's last words faded as my phone fell off my hands. My senses were blocked and I couldn't move a muscle nor hear anything anymore. My wobbling legs were beginning to find their way to the floor when Sabrina held my hands.

"I can't breathe" was all I could utter before everything went blank.

Sabrina's POV

"Girlfriend! Micaela!" I yelled her name in panic after seeing her faint right before Kim and me.

"What's happening to her?" Kim asks clueless like I was.

"I have no idea. Get me water!" I replied and lay her head on my lap. Kim scurries off to my kitchen and came back with a bowl of water. I collected it and sprinkle some water on Micaela's face and she stirs up gasping for breath.

"Breathe, just breathe slowly" I whispered and gestured for her to calm down.

"What happened to me?" she asks glancing down at her wet clothes.

"You fainted girlfriend, I thought it was a joke at first not until you didn't come alive so I had to use water to revive you. Are you okay?" I ask and she gazes up at me and then diverted her gaze to Kim. Her hand moved to her head and she groans.

"My head hurts badly" she complained and Kim and I shared a glance.

"You should have some rest, I think you are stressed out" Kim replied and I stared at Micaela.

Something is wrong with her, she collapsed immediately after she received that call, what would have caused her to collapse?

"Micaela?" I called her attention and she glance up at me. "What did that guy say to you?"

Her eyes flickered and she glances down at her thighs. "Nothing, he just called to check up on me. I think I need to rest now" she made a move to stand up but I held her arm.

"Sit down, we are not done talking. I hate when you lie to me, I don't know if Kim hates it as well but I do hate it-". I felt jaded for Micaela to still have zero trust in us.

"I do hate it too. But why do you say she is lying though?" Kim asks cluelessly. I guess she's not observant as I am.

"Her eyes have betrayed her. If she didn't just lie to us let her look us in the eyes and say that again" I replied and beckon Micaela to prove me wrong.

Disappointingly she couldn't, I was right after all. "You've seen for yourself skinny, Micaela is hiding something from us. The guy that called her told her something she's not telling us".

I heard Micaela sniffles and when I tilt her chin up her eyes were filled with tears yet again. "I'm going to jail" she muffles and Kim and I shared surprise glances.

"What was that?" I ask and she solemnly bowed her head low.

"Ferd is charging me to court raping him, and he is also sending our divorce papers tomorrow for me to sign on it".

"What!" Kim and I exclaim in unison and our mouths remained gape. "This is so unbelievable!" I muttered in incredulity.

How could Fernando do that to my friend? What kind of man is he that he can just take stupid actions without considering the feelings of the woman he once said he loved?

"That guy is the devil himself!" Kim hisses outrageously.

"I'm so confused right now. My life is ruined now, there's nothing I can do to save myself now and my marriage".

Gazing at my best friend right now makes me almost break down into tears. She is currently heartbroken. Even though she doesn't see me as her best friend she is my best friend and I'm proud I chose her to be my best friend. It breaks my heart to see her suffer for what wasn't her fault.

I can't let her keep suffering like this, I'll do everything I can to help her win her man back. And all those who put her in this mess will pay for it, there's no way she is going to jail. I took her hands and squeeze them with warmth and I gaze into her eyes and flashed her a reassuring smile.

"Don't be afraid, we'll get through this together. You are not going to jail and your marriage will never jeopardize. We are going to prove your innocence, you'll see. In the meantime, go to sleep and let tomorrow have its worries, okay?"

"You sound so relaxed with the whole thing, it's like you don't get it, do you?" she asks looking so perturbed and depressed.

"I get it, I get it. I understand that everything you ever worked for is about to crash and even your good reputation is about to be replaced with bad, I get it all. But crying and beating ourselves over it won't give us any solution, so is better we rest our heads so that we can think straight and not let anything ruin us. I used the word 'us' because is no longer your fight alone, but it's the three of us fight, remember I said we are in this together".

"Oh Sabrina, sometimes you talk like a motivational speaker and I do love this part of you because you are saying nothing but the truth" Kim chirped and I squint at her and smiled.

Micaela heaves a long sigh and shrugs. "I'm lost for words. I think I should sleep it off. Thank you for everything". Kim and I helped her up to her feet and we put her to bed and left the room.

"Poor Micaela" Kim gave a sad frown and she lean her back on the wall just right in front of the guest room.

"I don't know why this is happening to her when she has finally fallen in love. That guy Fernando is acting too mean and stubborn. He still loves her but his pride won't let him do the right thing" I groan frustratingly.

"What do we do now?" Kim asks and I stared at her and shrugged.

"Micaela needs to talk him out of his ridiculous revenge. She needs to use her woman strategy to keep him silent".

"What are you thinking now, Sabrina?"

"I'll tell you the plan I've got in the morning" I answered and she sighs and nods. "You can fix up dinner for yourself, as for me I'm going to catch some sleep you know I don't joke with my sleeping hours just as you don't joke with food" I wink at her and we both giggled.

Fernando's POV

"What's the update on that woman?" I ask nonchalantly.

"That woman is your wife, buddy" Antonio reminded me like I didn't know about it.

"She was my wife but not anymore. Let's not argue about her position in my life and just give me the update".

"She didn't give me any response before the line went dead" Antonio replied and I raised my brow at him.

"I don't get it, you mean to say she hung up on you or what?!"

"That I can't tell. I was on the phone with her when I heard some noise in the background and faint screams and then the phone went dead".

His explanation threw me into a sudden panic. "What do you mean? Is something wrong with Micaela? Is she okay?" I found myself asking. I can't believe I still care about this lady despite everything.

"I don't know man, I seriously don't know what happened".

Although I'm so mad at her I don't want anything to happen to her, I want her alive. As worried as I might be, I can't travel down to Seoul to check up on her because she'll feel I still love her. I gaze up at Antonio and he shrugs at me and asks, "what now?"

"Get ready, you are traveling to Seoul to see how she's doing and if she's alive, do not hesitate to have her sign the divorce papers".

"What!" He exclaims and I shrugged in response.

"You are my attorney so you have to do it. All travel expenses on me" I said in conclusion and my best friend stared at me in disbelief. He should start getting used to this new me, some things have changed.
