You were standing eye to eye with another one of blackwatch's failures. Your left arm morphed into a claw which you stabbed into Cross' torso. He simply stares at you with a smile.

Cross: Is that really necessary?

You keep ahold of Cross as your claws dig further into his torso.

(Y/n): My uncle said he killed you on that ship. What did he kill if it wasn't you?!

You questioned.

Cross: Oh, it was me. Your uncle just didn't have the guts to consume me. When the Nuke went off, it knocked me off the boat and into the water. Thanks to the sea life that got curiouser and curioser about me, I was able to regenerate.

He lifts up one of his legs up above you and kicks you square in the stomach and sends you flying into the air. As you're falling and about to hit the pavement, Cross picks you up by your hair and holds you up in front of him.

Cross: I don't want to kill you. Just talk.

You look at him with anger.

(Y/n): You're a monster! I'll kill you if you START talking to me as if you're human!

Cross releases his grip and you fall to your feet. You grab Cross and throw him down. He hits the sidewalk and groans. He stands back up and smirks. He runs at you but before he can make contact, you block the punch with your forearm. You deliver a flying knee to his stomach then transform your right arm into a hammer fist and punch down on his head which makes him fall flat on the ground.

You turn and start running but suddenly feel someone grab your right arm and twist it sharply causing you to let out an agonizing scream and lose your footing. You look to see the Supreme Hunter towering over you. You grit your teeth and cut off your own arm, causing the Supreme Hunter to stumble back. You let out pained scream before hardening the biomass where your right arm was making it like a shorter version of your blade and jammed it into the Supreme Hunter's torso causing it to let out a roar of pain.

You moved your severed arm to the right, slicing its stomach open. You move forward with a kick, sending the monster flying backward. You run towards him and slice his throat while running through the hole you created. As the body falls, you turn around to see nothing but dust.

You look back at Cross who was picking himself up.

Cross: Bastard...!

You look back and see him starting to run at you.

You growl in anger and begin charging at him with full throttle. The two of you clash and push against each other for several moments until he managed to get a swing in with his right fist causing you to roll away.  He starts to follow suit with punches and kicks to your stomach but every time you manage to dodge or block it, you send a punch of your own towards him. As he tries to knock you away, you quickly change directions and tackle him down causing him to grunt in pain.

(Y/n): You're getting your ass kicked by a guy with one arm! How do you feel?!

In response to your insult, Cross kicks you off with both legs sends you flying up to a rooftop.

You groan and stand up. You see a bird and grab it with your whipfist and crush it in your hands. Your right arm returns to you as the Supreme Hunter climbs the building and lands in front of you. It transforms back into Cross as he begins circling you.

Cross: Your uncle has been lying to you for a long time (Y/n). You're nothing more than a beta test when he 'saved' your life.

You circle him too and get angry at his words.

(Y/n): Shut the fuck up! You don't know anything!

You run at him however he throws you over his back and slams you onto the floor.

Cross: Don't I?

He questions.

Cross: What about the poor woman, who's face you caved in tonight? You saw her memories as you consumed her correct?

You stand up and look down as the image of Alex infecting the woman flashed in your head.

Cross: Blacklight isn't a virus (Y/n). It's a cure. Always has been, always will be.

You look at him again. Cross stops in his tracks.

(Y/n): A cure?! For what?!

Cross smirks.

Cross: Humanity.

You were even more confused.

Cross: Your uncle thought about it. Why can't you?

You shook your head left and right.

(Y/n): Think about what?! How insane you sound?!

Cross rolls his eyes and steps towards you slowly.

Cross: When Greene gave birth to me. I was nothing but a runt. A premature existence somehow...latching onto life. Then I met Cross....Well...'met' is a strong word. Through him, I saw humanity's history, it's cruelty AND it's suffering.

You step back as he walks towards you again.

Cross: I knew eventually that your uncle would either find out or experience that side of humanity too. So that's when I eventually approached your uncle and gave him an idea. A virus to virus talk you could say.

Your eyes widen.

Cross: I said to him "What if we could alter the virus to make more people that were like you?"

You clench your fist.

(Y/n): You lie! Uncle would never agree to a plan as homocidal as that!

You shout.

Cross: That's exactly what he did. He disagreed.

You sigh in relief.

Cross: .....Until a few Gentek lab break-ins and raids later that is. Almost a replica with my dna and his. All we needed was a syringe, and he was happy to comply.

Your eyes widen as Alex's needle like arm flashed in your mind. You stood there in disbelief.

Cross: Step one was complete.

Cross then points at you.

Cross: Step two was a success.

He then points out towards all the land surrounding you both.

Cross: Step three....still in progress.

Your breathing hitches.

Cross: Human lives WILL be lost. Those who survive and show resolve will rise up. Be better than those who fell. They will be the triumph of this planet.

(Y/n): But they won't be human anymore.

Cross looks at you. He nods.

Cross: They'll still have free will. Just liberated from a world that would call them monsters or have them killed on sight.

He gets closer to you.

Cross: This could be the last chance to help humanity.

(Y/n): Help...? How is a virus supposed to help humanity?! What do you two really want them to do?!

Cross smiles.

Cross: Evolve.

You watch him turn his back on you as he looks up at the sky.

Cross: That's always been humanity's goal. To become better. To reach new heights! This can and will be the final step.

Cross looks straight ahead and smiles.

Cross: So am I getting thr-

He didn't get to finish as you sliced him in half then raised your arms as they morphed into hammerfists, ready to pummel him into paste.

Cross: Guess not.

He morphs into the Supreme Hunter again and slams his claws into the ground which sprouts spikes that impale your legs. You scream in pain and try to get free as the Supreme Hunter steps up to you.

His hand shoots forth and slashes through your chest causing you to scream louder. Blood spurts through the air from your open wound. The Supreme Hunter grabs your face between his hands and squeezes tight, forcing blood to pour from your mouth.

(Y/n): Earlier you said you were an unlikely Ally...strange way of showing it. Did you really think I'd agree with your plan. I'll kill you.......my uncl-.....Alex too if I have to.

The Supreme Hunter stares at you. He lets go of your face and takes a step backwards. The Supreme Hunter morphs back into Cross and sighs.

Cross: I knew you wouldn't agree. I told your uncle that if you had even a shred of humanity left like he did when I fought him....then there was no way.

Cross starts walking away.

Cross: Your uncle will be unpleased. Maybe even kill you.

He says before jumping off the building. After a few seconds, the spikes disappear causing you to fall forward. You collapse onto the mixture of pebbled, concrete and sand on the roof causing you to moan in pain. You look up at the sky where the moon shined brightly as it illuminated the area around you. You cough up blood and try to lift yourself but end up collapsing once again. Your vision fades in and out of focus. Eventually everything goes black and you fall into unconsciousness.
A couple minutes passed as you laid motionless on the cement roof. It wasn't long until you felt something touch your hand and heard a voice speak to you softly.
You hear the voice clearly and recognize it.

(Y/n): Lilith...?

You look at your familiar who smiles at you and holds your hand.

Lilith: I'm here master. I'm sorry that I wasn't fast enough. Shall I hunt the one who did this?

She asks as she stand up slowly. You however pull her down again.

(Y/n): No! Don't do that. Please just....stay here please....

You sit up and hug her. She's taken back by the sudden gesture but returns the hug regardless.

You look over her shoulder and ponder on how to approach your mother now. Not only her but your uncle too....if he even returns now.
