Natsu - Worlds Collide

"Somethings happening!" Erza yelled into Lucy's and my room. I groaned and got out of bed, Lucy was already up and in her closet looking for a gown to wear. I stood up and put on my normal attire then stepped out of the room to check up on the kids, they were playing in Nashi's room with their new toys, then I went to check up on my wife.

"Hey, Natsu, I need to talk to you before we go to the meeting." Luce said after I entered the room and closed the door behind me.

"Yeah? What's wrong?" I asked as I sat beside her on our bed.

"I'm scared. Not only for our kids and us but also for this little one," she said and rubbed her stomach. We had been attacked almost constantly this past week and a half by the wingless. We've had to move to a different wing in the castle that nobody really knew about just to keep everyone safe. I understood her fear but I had a feeling they were specifically after my pregnant wife, and I was afraid. I was terrified, I don't know these people, I don't know what powers they have, it's a completely unknown factor and I'm afraid for my family. I'm afraid for my children's future.

"I will try everything in my power to protect you and our children. I'll be honest, we have no idea what we are going up against and I'm scared for you and our unborn child but we need to stay strong and help protect not only ourselves but our people as well."

"Thank you, Natsu. You always know how to make me feel better." Luce said as she wiped her tears away.

"Should we tell them? About the pregnancy?" she asked.

"No, lets try to keep it a secret for as long as possible. I wouldn't want to give them another reason to come after you."

She nodded in response and hugged me. I ran my hand up and down her back in a soothing manner then finally stood up and helped her stand up.

"Well, we better get going before Erza comes back around to drag us up there herself." I joked as I got up. Lucy laughed and followed me out of the room.

When we got to the meeting hall, everyone seemed worried and stressed out, it instantly put me on edge and made me protective of Lucy.

"Erza? What happened?" I asked.

"The border between Vein and here has vanished. I don't know what's going on. Also we have found over four hundred people with their wings chopped off and some immense magical power that only you and Lucy can rival. We only managed to capture them by overpowering them."

"Did any of them mention when or where the next battle is taking place like last time?"

"None of them have spoken up yet, Your Highness." Gajeel spoke up.

"Gray, how have the troops been handling this?"

"We have about fifty in critical care, twenty were just released, we have about four hundred uninjured, and another twenty-seven recruits arriving tomorrow morning." Gray responded.

"Wendy, how many have died?"

"A hundred this past week, that would bring the total up to one thousand two hundred and fifty of our troops."

"That's way too many. We don't even know what we are fighting against!"

Natsu, you need to calm down. I know all of this is stressful but you could hurt yourself if you stress out too much and I would like our children to grow up with a father. Lucy said through the mind-link.

I know Luce, I'm just confused I guess. We don't know what or who we are fighting and I don't know what their obsession is with you and our children. I responded.

"Natsu, Lucy. I need to show you something." Levy said then motioned to us to follow her out of the room.

"While I was cleaning out the lower rooms of the west tower, I happened to stumble upon the old Prophet's room. The one that Ebony used before she got exiled from the kingdom. I don't know if you can remember her, Lucy. Anyways, I started going through the old books that were in there and happened to find something I think you'll find interesting." Levy said as we walked down the halls, headed to the west tower. I kept walking behind the girls and just let them talk even though I was confused. I had a feeling that I would understand when we see what Levy is talking about.

"Ebony? Wasn't she the one that told my father that I had to cut all ties with Natsu? I think she said something about our relationship and if I ever ended up with him that it would spell great doom or something like that." Lucy asked while she questioned her memory.

"No, I just believe that is what your father told you. She told him that the Demons were responsible for your mother's death but she got exiled after the court found out about her lies. She had been whispering in your father's ear since they were children. She even thought that she was your father's soulmate and believed that your mother stole him from her. She's had it against you and your mother since the day you were born."

"How do you know that?" Lucy asked, no venom in her voice, just plain curiosity.

"I read her diary." Levy stated bluntly. "I also am the historian and deal with court affairs a lot so I know a ton of things that nobody would even think I know. Just like how you two," she paused then lowered her voice so only Lucy and I could hear her, "are expecting another child but don't want to tell anyone until it's too hard to hide anymore." she finished. I stopped suddenly, almost tripping on a slightly lifted stone in the floor.

"How'd you know that?" I asked, blushing as if she had just revealed something embarrassing and private just to be sure that nobody could really tell what they were talking about in case there were any spies in the castle.

"I have my ways, King Natsu, I have my ways." she said then stopped in front if an older wooden door. I looked around and noticed that we were in an older part of the castle, I didn't even realize we had already arrived. I must have been too sucked into the conversation the two women were having and looking out for anything suspicious to notice I guess.

"Here we are." Levy said as she swung the door open. It was a surprisingly spacious room with bookshelves lining almost every wall, large windows lined the other wall and a large canopy bed rested right next to the wall of windows. Curtains covered the view to the outside and a small desk sat between the bed and the bookshelves. There were boxes everywhere and Levy's neat handwriting was scrawled over most of them but there were about four or five of them that were sealed and had dust all over them. Each open box were stuffed full of books and a large, round table in the center of the room had piles of books all over it and a smaller, leather bound book was laying in the only open space on the table, it was open to a page with little flowers and hearts all over the page around the neat but slightly messy handwriting that I couldn't recognize. I had a feeling that it was the diary that Levy spoke of. I suddenly felt drawn to one of the boxes sitting on the floor. I could almost feel my mom's presence leading me to it. I thought it was strange but went with it. I kneeled down and blew the dust off of the box and saw the same handwriting from the journal sprawled across the top of the box.

"Dragneel family + conection to ADs" is what it said. I opened the box and found pictures of my mom and dad in front of a cave, both with their hands on the face of a giant red dragon that stood between them. I flipped the picture over and the same handwriting was back once again with "Fea and Hunt Dragneel meet up with AD they called Igneel" written across it. I put that to the side and pulled out the small, leather bound book that was under it. I opened it to the first page and saw Ebony Shadow scrawled across the front page. The next page had a small picture of a young girl standing next to a young Jude Heartfillia and a large white dragon stood with them. AD Celeste with me + Jude was written underneath the photo along with some other things that didn't quite peak my interest.

It wasn't until I got to the last page that something else finally peaked my interest. It was a bracelet drawn intricately that I recognized instantly as the one my mother always wore. It had gone missing the day my mom had died and nobody knew where it had gone. I put the book to the side and reached for the last thing on the box, a maroon stained wood jewelry box. Just as I was about to open it, I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I suddenly felt more at peace then I've felt in years, it was almost like my mother was right there with me, helping me along my path along with Zerif, Mavis, and my father. It was like a whisper, they were there and then they were gone, but it was enough to knock me out of my stupor and finally hear Lucy and Levy trying to get my attention. I slowly stood from my kneeling position and carried the box over to the girls.

"Natsu? Are you okay?" Lucy asked. I shook my head then shared my memory of the moment I just had so she could understand. Levy looked at us with curiosity shining in her eyes but apparently decided to let it be.

"Anyway," Levy started, "What I wanted to show you is over here," she said then walked over to the one shelf that still had books on it. I looked at her confused then she grabbed the book three away from the left side and it opened a passageway into the castle's tunnels. I didn't even know there was a door to the tunnels. Everyone had to learn a special spell specific to the castle so they could even enter the castle unsupervised, let alone the tunnels.

As we passed through the tunnels, I started to notice that it looked lived in, unlike the rest of the castle tunnels. The west side of the castle has been mostly uninhabited or sealed off for reasons unknown to me, it would be the ideal place to hide an army of rouge Demons and Angels. The passageway opened up into a large, dome like room. In the center of the room stood a statue of a demon holding and angel in his arms. This statue was centuries older then even our parents, so there was no way it was me or Luce but it looked just like us.

"The Travelers From Beyond is what it says. There's more, When the first prophets graced this land with their presence, they gave everyone the ability to find their soulmates but it was at a price. As long as the royal families have wings of their own, they must find and be with their soulmates until the day of their deaths, if this deal is broken, total chaos will ensue.

One day, when the winged ones are but a myth, the last child of these royal families will unlock the key to free the Queen of the Stars, he will be the one to destroy the world or fight for its existence, for she is the last prophet, the last old soul, the last true soulmate for the royal families. They will be the last of the ancient ones, the last Dragons, the last Dragneels.

He will go through much in his life, but if he is tainted by the dark arts before his tenth birthday, he will bring doom to this ancient land, if he isn't tainted and stays in the light, peace will reign for generations, until he is but a whisper in the wind, forgotten by the world, lost in history. He will have great power, power that no other can rival, but with that power comes consequences. He will loose his sight by the age of thirteen and will suffer from magical episodes until the day his sight is taken from him. Many will try to steal his power, many will fail. The ancient prophet, the old soul that is the sky, the Queen of the Stars is the only-" Levy suddenly stopped.

"What happened?" Lucy asked her friend.

"It's cut off. It looks like the prophecy was tampered with. A whole section of stonework is missing here. But this statue does depict you two. It says right here: This ancient land, once divided, will be reunited by the love of the royal families. They will not know of this prophecy, will be unable to read or hear it until the prophecy has come to pass. Lucy Heartfillia and Natsu Dragneel will be the ones to reunite this divided land and bring about a new era to the land. Their child will bring about the age of the wingless, and continue the family line when no one believes he lives."

"That's weird..." Levy trailed off.

"What's weird?" I asked suddenly.

"First, what was the last thing you could hear me say?"

"Something about me and Luce bringing about a new era or something." I answered.

"The other part you guys missed talked about the wingless. I have to be careful about how I word this or the spell cast over the prophecy will mute me, at least to you guys. It only says 'child' here, like you guys only have one."

"That's not right, we have two kids." Lucy said, then she looked at me, a scared look on her face.

We're going to die with Nashi and Luke in this war, but he will live on. I had a dream about it the other night but thought it was just a nightmare playing on my fears as a mother, but now it all makes sense. Something happens then you rush off and take him with you while the rest of us are stuck in the castle. You give him to someone you trust, someone or something that has been around longer then the great divide and has been loyal to your family through it all. He raises our son and he lives on, the last one with royal blood. Lucy said in a rush through the link. I pull her into a hug and tell her that we will find a way to be with our son and save all of us, no matter what. I hold her close to me as her soft cries echo throughout the room.
