Carlos went with fairy godmother to her office. As eager as he was to be by Jane's side, he was also curious why fairy godmother wanted to see him.

"Please sit." Fairy godmother said as she also took her seat.

"Is something wrong?" Carlos asked worriedly. They finally got rid of Chad but she didn't seem happy. She seemed scared and nervous.

"No dear. Not exactly. I know you are supposed to be with Jane now but this couldn't wait." Fairy godmother said.

"Okay...." Carlos said uneasy. Fairy godmother was really nervous and that made Carlos nervous too.

"I did some research and found out about.....your father." Fairy godmother finally said.

Carlos eyes grew wide. He'd researched but couldn't come to a conclusion.

"A-and?" He stuttered. He wasn't exactly sure he was ready to hear the news but he was also curious.

"He's........" Fairy godmother hesitated a bit. "Chernabog."

Carlos became pale. After his research on Chernabog, he knew he wanted absolutely nothing to do with the guy.

If he wasn't sitting, he would have definitely fallen.

"Are, are you sure?" Carlos asked hoping it was a mixup. Chernabog was the last person he wanted to be connected with.

"Yes. But don't panic. From what we've seen, it seems you didn't inherit much of his powers. Just pyrokinesis his ability to manipulate fire and heat. So that's good." Fairy godmother said.

"Why is that good?" Carlos asked.

"Oh, well from what we've noticed, you didn't seem to inherit his weaknesses either. So if you inherited all his powers, without having any weaknesses you'd be invincible and unstoppable. And that would raise fear among the council." Fairy godmother explained.

Carlos sighed. Even if they had been there for almost a year, he knew some people haven't fully accepted them yet.

He had no problem of course because he was mortal. Mal was/is the daughter of the mistress of evil, Evie was/is the daughter of a witch, Jay was/is the son of a sorcerer so they had it harder cause they had access to magic.

But now, Carlos might actually be in worse condition considering his father was/is a demon, who did evil for fun.

"Great so my mom is a psychotic fur lover and my dad is a homicidal maniac. What an interesting family tree." Carlos said sarcastically.

"I need to test to see if you can cast spells. Can you cast a simple spell?" Fairy godmother asked.

Carlos started thinking. The only spell he had heard and could do at the moment was the one he heard Mal chant.

So he stood and faced the door.

"Make it easy, make it quick. Open up without a kick." Carlos chanted.

The reaction they got was not one they expected.

The door detached from it's hinges with a loud bang like it exploded.

"Whoa." Carlos said both shocked and impressed.

"Guess I'll need a new door." Fairy godmother muttered as she examined what happened.

"I'm sorry I just wanted it to open." Carlos said.

"I know. The fact that it exploded like that means it wasn't a spell. It was your fire manipulation ability. You heated the hinges so much, it exploded." Fairy godmother explained.

"Try a levitating spell." Fairy godmother said.

"Um, I don't know one." Carlos said.

"Just focus on this bowl here. And try to move it with your mind. Concentrate." Fairy godmother said.

Carlos did as he was told and it levitated.

"Wow." Carlos said in awe.

"Okay so pyrokinesis and levitation. What about shadow manipulation? Can you manipulate darkness or travel through it?" Fairy godmother asked.

"I don't think so." Carlos said.

"Give it a try. Try to turn my shadow into something else." Fairy godmother said.

Carlos gave it a try. He wanted to turn her shadow to that of a dog but it didn't work.

"Okay so umbrakinesis no." Fairy godmother said as she mentally ticked it off the list.

"Fairy godmother is there a reason we are doing this?" Carlos asked.

"I wanna know all the powers you inherited from Chernabog." Fairy godmother said.

Carlos sighed. He didn't ask for any of this. Yeah he always thought having powers would be cool, but he didn't sign up for any of it.

"Try conjuring something." Fairy godmother said.

Carlos tried conjuring the same spear he used to almost kill Chad but it didn't work. Figured it was a one time thing.

"Can't conjure things either. So your powers are pyrokinesis and levitation. That's okay." Fairy godmother said happy knowing that the council wouldn't fuss much about it.

"Anything else?" Carlos asked.

"I don't know. You tell me. Is there anything else?" Fairy godmother asked.

Carlos thought about telling her the voice in his head that kept telling him to do things like killing Chad.

He hadn't told Jane yet but he figured that now that Chad had been taken care of, the voice would leave.

So why worry them about it right? Besides it might have just been his conscience.

But aren't consciences supposed to tell you to do good things?

"Nope nothing else." Carlos said.

"Okay. Thank you for your time." Fairy godmother said.

"Um fairy godmother, do you think it could be a possibility that I stayed with Jane tonight?" Carlos said.

"I know you said it would just be a one day thing but just for tonight. Please." Carlos said.

"You are aware that Lonnie is back and her roommate." Fairy godmother said.

"She can stay with Jay in our room. I'm sure she would be glad." Carlos said.

"Well that's not exactly the problem." Fairy godmother said. She trusted Carlos and Jane to behave even if they stayed in the same room. Jay and Lonnie, not so much.

Carlos realized what she was implying. "You don't have to worry about that. They are not even dating yet." Carlos said.

"I suppose. If they would both agree" Fairy godmother said.

"Yes! Thank you." Carlos said excitedly as he left.

Fairy godmother smiled at his enthusiasm.

"Now what am I going to do about this door?"
