chapter 10
An update so soon? I'm really surprised I am updating so soon.
Lonnie heaved a sigh of relief as she entered back into her room, Jane was standing across with a smile.
"So what were you guys talking about?" Jane asked in an almost teasing tone.
"Just reminding him how much of a dork he is." Lonnie answered.
"Really? And not thanking him for taking care of me?" Jane asked in a teasing tone.
"How did you..."
"I'm half fairy. I may not have magic but I still have fairy hearing remember?" Jane asked.
"Oh yeah I forget you can do that." Lonnie answered.
"I'm glad that we have your permission and approval." Jane said.
"I'm actually thinking of reconsidering. Bone head doesn't know he needs it." Lonnie said.
"Forgive him. He's new." Jane said with a small laugh which Lonnie joined in.
"Okay if you'll excuse me there's one more thing I'd like to do before we catch up." Lonnie said.
"Which is?" Jane asked.
"Get Chad's guts acquainted with my sword. I'm sure they would be good friends." Lonnie said picking up her sword.
"Lonnie please don't go." Jane said her voice panicked.
"Jane it's Chad. You know I can beat him even if I was blindfolded and had one of my hands tied behind my back." Lonnie said.
"It's not that. I know you can handle yourself. Its just I'm scared he'll try to hurt you the way he tried to hurt me." Jane said.
"He won't get a chance." Lonnie said.
"Listen Chad's changed. He's scary now. He isn't just a jerk now he's much worse." Jane said remembering her encounter with him in the utility closet.
"What happened?" Lonnie asked seeing as Jane looked like she was going to cry.
"He, he threatened me." Jane chocked out through sobs.
Lonnie's gut reaction was to go look for Chad and kill him but instead, she wrapped her arms around the fairy and hugged her letting Jane cry on her shoulders.
Lonnie led Jane and herself to her bed as they sat on it.
"So what happened?" Lonnie asked.
"I was on my way to geography class when he pulled me inside the utility closet. He said I should tell mom to cancel the court proceeds because I won't win. And that when I lose he's going to make my life a nightmare." Jane said crying some more.
Lonnie couldn't believe what she was hearing she was surprised Chad gave a threat like that.
"Have you told Carlos yet?" Lonnie asked.
"No I didn't want to tell him because goodness knows what he'll do if he found out that Chad threatened me." Jane said.
"Nothing Chad won't deserve." Lonnie said spitefully.
"If Carlos does anything too bad to Chad, Chad would use it against him in court." Jane said.
"OK so what's your plan?" Lonnie asked.
"Honestly I don't know. Maybe I should tell mom to cancel the whole court process." Jane said unsure.
"Uh Jane? Are you thinking straight right now? He tried to take advantage of you. What makes you think he won't try it again?" Lonnie asked her friend.
Jane kept her head low staring at the floor.
"He said if I took him to court that he'll take Carlos down with him." Jane said.
"OK Jane you want my advice?" Lonnie asked.
Jane nodded.
"Talk to Carlos about it. You don't have to mention the threatening or Chad. You can just say it's something you've been thinking about. Hear what Carlos has to say." Lonnie said.
"But on no condition should you let the bastard get away with what he did." Lonnie said.
"I guess you are right. I'm so glad you're back." Jane said.
"Me too." Lonnie said.
"Now come on let's go surprise our friends." Lonnie said.
"Yeah okay." Jane said smiling.
