Amelia POV

I woke up and heard lots of yelling and commotion, but I couldn't see anything. My vision was blurry and I couldn't remember what happened and I didn't even know where I was.

"H-Hello?" I manage to stutter out. Then, I feel someone sit down next to me.

"Amelia, it's Specs. Your at da' Newsie Lodgin' house. Can you see anyfing?" Specs says.

"No..." I say.

"Do you want me ta get yer' bruddas?" Specs asks.

"My brothers! What happened to them?!" I ask shooting up. I feel a sharp pain in my head and fall back down.

"Amelia, your brothers are fine" Specs says, "Just a little beaten'."

"Is she okays?" Someone asks. After a minute, I realize that it was Finch.

"She can't see, I hasen't asked her many questions, but she seems ta remember her brothers 'nd I, so dat's a good sign." Specs explains.

"Buttons! Mush! Where's da Delancey Bruddas?" Finch yells.

"Outsoide wit' Jack 'nd Race, why?" Buttons yells back.

"Amelia's awake" Finch says.

"How's she doings?" Mush asks.

"She can't see," Specs starts to explain again. I see black spots covering my vision again and say "Morris? Oscar?" Before I black out again.

Third Person POV

"You need to get her-" Finch starts.

"She blacked outs again" Specs says, "I wonder if something happened, let's see how long she stays awake next time she wakes up."

"Should we gets her bruddas?" Buttons asks.

"Only if she wakes up again before they're back" Specs replies.

A little later
Eleanor POV

I wake up again, but still can't see.
"Specs?" I say.

"She's awake 'gain, Specs" Someone says, Elmer, I think.

"Can ya sees Amelia?" Boots asks.

"N-Not really. Everything's b-blurry" I stutter.

"She stills can't see" Henry says.

"Should wes gets her bruddas?" Finch says.

"Yeah," Specs says, "Elmer 'nd Boots go, Buttons 'nd Tommy go, 'nd Albert 'nd Blink go. Everyone else stays here."

"Amelia, can ya try ta sits up?" Mush asks.
I sit up with assistance from Mush and Specs.

"Can ya see betta'?" Sniper says.

"It's blurry" I say.

"Okays, yer' bruddas are coming" Specs says.

They continue to ask me questions until my brothers get back. Oscar and Morris sit on opposite sides of me.

"When did she wake up?" Morris asks.

"She woke ups for a few minutes a little agos, but she just woke ups and has stayed awake for a little" Specs explains.

"How is she in general?" Oscar asks.

"She can't sees, but she can sit ups now. She seems to remember people pretty well, but she can't remembers why she's hurtin' 'nd can't see" Mush says.

"We'll explain what happened to her later" Oscar says.

Third Person POV

After a few minutes of talking, Amelia falls asleep on Oscar's shoulder. After that, Jack comes in and check on how Amelia and her brothers are doing.

"Fine" Oscar and Morris say at the same time.

"How's 'Melia?" Jack asks.

"First off, da' boys will bes fine if they don't get deir' cuts infected" Specs says.

"Second, Amelia remembers alls of us, but not wat happened" Mush says, finishing Spec's sentence.

"Okays... I guess dats a good fing'" Jack says.

"War are wes doing in da morning?" Albert asks. All the littler kids had gone to bed for the night. The only people awake were Jack, Crutchie, Elmer, Albert, Race, Specs, Mush, Buttons, Oscar, and Morris.

"We'll haves ta wait 'nd see, Oscar 'nd Morris are gonn' sell wit us. Specs will probably stay here with Amelia" Jack says.

"We should do buddy systems" Race says.

"I agrees wit Race, Snyder is already afta' us, wit da' Delancey's here, we're definitely a target" Buttons says.

"Okays, 15+ can be wit any numba of people, as long as dey're not alone, 'nd 14 under, have ta be in groups of 3+ people" Jack says.

"Problems solved" Crutchie says.
