Warning: this one mentions suicide and child abuse no details are mentioned

What is the true lowest point?  What gives us the right to say "you can't be sad because others have it worse".  What is the true lowest that we are comparing to?  "Saying that I can't be sad because others have it worse is like saying I can't be happy because other have it better."  This quote (unfortunatly I don't know who originally said it) could not be more true.  What is the true lowest point?  What is the true best?  What dictates how happy or sad we should feel about out situations?  Is the true lowest death?  No family?  If the true lowest is death why do some people think highly of it and go suicide?  If it's no family why are children who are abused so happy to leave their parents?  What gives us the right to say they have no right?  The other day my friend said she had four hours of sleep the night before and was exhausted then I told her "try me, I've had 3 hours of sleep every night this week" while it was true I slept 3 hours a night, I am used to this.  I've been getting 3 hours on week days for years.  My friend however is used to 8 hours a night and she had to function with 4.  I am used to it, she is not.  For me 4 hours of sleep is a luxary, for her 4 hours is torture.  Is it not arguable that she was more tired than I was?  I am used to it, she is not.  What gave me the right to say "you can't be tired because I had less sleep"?  Is there a true lowest?  Is there a true best?  If we cannot agree on one why is there a test?  Why can we say "you cannot be ___________ because others have it worse"?
