Part 13
After walking for nearly an hour, Dean reaches the town, he looks around the near empty streets for his brother and his car but spots neither. He walks towards the hotel they were staying at, grumbling an assortment of curses at his brother along the way. When he arrives, the Impala is sitting outside the room as it should be, Dean rolls his eyes and makes his way into the room finding it empty.
"Sam." Dean calls into the silent room, there's no response. "Damn it." He mumbles to himself, setting you down on Sam's bed. Grabbing a first aid kit, he returns back to you and starts stitching your head, you wince from the needle poking you.
After he gets done with the messy stitches, you sleep for a few more hours before waking up and looking around the motel room. Dean is sitting in a chair close to the door, sitting up, you stretch out your wings the tense muscles resisting at the pull.
"Hey." You say looking over at Dean who doesn't look impressed. "Where's Sam?" You ask looking around again.
Dean sighs looking at you, "I think something bigger is going on here (y/n)," he says sliding some notes across the small table.
"Bigger like what?" You ask making your way over to the table and pick up what he wrote.
"I'm not sure, but Sam isn't answering his phone and the car is outside." Dean says casually.
"Well that could mean anything, maybe he just went for a walk. What makes it a bigger deal?" You point out, hoping it doesn't have anything to do with the demon you saw in the park the other day.
"There was a group following the basilisk to where you fell, they looked right at us but didn't do anything." He pauses in his words, "It's likely they were after Sam."
"That's possible, should we call in other hunters. We could probably use the extra help." You suggest, but being the stubborn person he is, Dean denies.
"There were only three, it shouldn't be that much of a trouble." Dean says shrugging, "We just have to figure out where they're keeping him."
"Have any ideas? The sewers might lead us somewhere." You say leaning back into your chair.
"Unless the snake could talk, I don't think so. Neither of us speak parseltongue." Dean scoffs, getting up and looking inside the small fridge for something.
"True, but it's worth a shot." You say shrugging, "I don't see you coming up with any ideas."
"Yeah, well I just walked three miles carrying you so I'm not up to making master plans right now." Dean grumbles and slams the fridge door.
"Maybe you should eat something. Think it over for the time being." You suggest, eyeing his lethargic movements over to where you're sitting.
"Sure." He says curtly, walking out the door. You attempt to stay close behind him on the way to a small diner down the street
In the diner Dean eats enough for the whole group, you sit back and watch him shovel down more food. You didn't feel like eating after everything that had happened that day, instead you ponder over how to get Sam back.
"Why do you think they wanted Sam?" You ask once it looks like Dean is finally done.
"I'm not entirely sure, if it's demons they probably want him to do some weird ritual shit for them." He replies, pulling out money from his wallet and throws it on the table.
"Do you think we could track his phone? He had it on him didn't he?" You ask as you both walk out the door, heading towards the impala.
"That might work, but do you know how to do that?" Dean says, ignorant to any of the things Sam normally does.
"Geez, it's like you can't do anything." You tease him, poking his shoulder when he rolls his eyes and scoffs. "But I'll do it."
Dean grumbles about something to himself in the hotel as you work on the task given to you. When you find Sam's phone, you watch Dean pace back and forth for a while before he feels your eyes on him.
"What are you staring at?" He says with a sterness that makes you flinch slightly, "Did you find him?"
"Yeah, uh.. yeah he's outside town in some building." You hesitate to say, treading lightly so he can take his anger out on something else.
"Why are we still here then?" Dean practially yells at you. "Let's go."
You and Dean head out to where the ping came from, you giving him directions while he drives too fast. It's a miracle when you make it there without a run in with the local police department; the building, which is bigger than you imagined, stands in front of you. You go to get out of the car when Dean locks the door, looking over at him reveals a stern face.
"You stay out here." He says and you raise your eyebrows.
"And who's gonna make me?" You question with your sassy persona.
"These." Dean says snapping your wrists in a pair of handcuffs that he looped through the steering wheel. You let him go, watching him get his weapon from the trunk and saunter up to the front door.
Once he goes inside you snap the handcuffs apart, mutant strength perks, getting out of the impala you pull out the knife that was still stuck in your boot. Since the weapon trunk was locked, the dagger is your only weapon. You walk up to the door and peek through the window beside the door upon seeing Dean fighting people, monsters, you pull your head back. Clutching the knife close to your chest you look in again, Dean is struggling at an unseen force shooting into the air several times before collapsing, his gun slides under a red chair in the corner of the room.
You gasp and back away from the window, running down the stairs. Snapping open your wings, you take off and fly to the roof to collect yourself.
'What am I going to do? There's more than three in there. Without a weapon, it's a fight that you've already lost but maybe you can sneak in and get Dean's gun without being noticed. Then you'll have a chance.
