~~Early one morning at Bobby's~~

"(y/n), wake up." Max whispers in your ear as you sleep. You grunt and roll over, facing away from him. "(y/n) you've gotta wake up." He says shaking your shoulder. You still don't reply so he picks up a cup of water from your bedside table and pours in over your face.

You jump and your wings shoot out, throwing Max against the wall.

"Oh my God! Max are you ok? I'm so sorry." You yell running over to him, realizing what you did. After making sure that he's ok you open your bedroom door, Max close behind you.

"Don't get too rowdy up there!" Bobby yells up the stairs at the two of you.

"Sorry." You both say in unison, as you walk down the stairs in your plaid pajama bottoms and a tank top.

"There's some breakfast in the kitchen, after that I'd like it if you'd do some research for me (y/n) while Max and I go do some work downstairs." Bobby says taking his spot at the desk in the library.

"Alright, I'm fine with that. And I'm sure Max is too." You say looking over at your brother with an eyebrow raised, saying 'do what you're told'.

"Yeah, we don't mind helping you with stuff around here." Max says through a mouthful of biscuits and bacon. (That's American biscuits not other countries, biscuits = scones)

"Good, come down after you get done Max. The case details are on my desk (y/n)." Bobby says after a minutes pause then he gets up and walks down the creaky steps into the basement. Max nods at you before shoving another piece of bacon in his mouth and heading down the stairs after your dad.

Sitting down in your dad's giant plush desk chair, after you got dressed for the day, you start looking at the case details. A town across the state is being over run with snakes, most of which are not from this country. Some of the townspeople had started to mysteriously be put into a paralyzed state, not completely stone like but frozen in time.

You spread out your wings and start looking through the books Bobby had left on the table, things like Medusa and Cerberus in them. After a few hours it seemed like nothing was turning up as to why this was happening, until you took a break and started reading Harry potter and the Chamber of Secrets from where you last left off. Then it hit you, it's a Basilisk.

You run down the stairs to where Max and your Dad are at. They turn and look at you scrambling clumsily down the stairs.

"Dad, I figured it out." You say scanning over his face as you say the words.

"Well, what did you find on your monster then." Max says putting down a piece of iron that he was holding up to the wall.

"It's a Basilisk. I was gonna ask if we had any books on it." You say looking between Max and Bobby.

"Yeah in the Harry Potter section." Bobby says giving you an sarcastic look.

"No for real, this thing actually exists." You say sending him a pleading look right back.

"Well look it up online then, we don't have anything on it." Bobby says turning back to building whatever it was in the basement.

You head back upstairs to search for the snake online, finding what you need after a while and writing all the information about the massive snake on a pad of paper.

When Bobby and Max came up the stairs several hours later you had finished your research and made dinner for the three of you.

"Did you make any extra, I got a couple a boys comin in for that case work." Bobby says, dishing himself a massive portion of mashed potatoes.

"If you're eatin like that there won't be." You say mimicking his accent, then cutting his starches in half, putting what excess he had back in the pot. "Who's coming over?" You ask sitting down and ignoring the look that you get for taking away the mans food.

Before he can answer there's a knock at the door and your dad gets up to get it. You and Max look at each other with an eyebrow raised, more like you look at him and he stuffs his face. A minute later Dad and two men you haven't seen since your childhood walk through the kitchen door.
