Manik moved out of hospital with red eyes while nandini had to run behind him to meet his pace........he didn't even spare a single look on her as if unaware of her presence.......nandini too didn't speak a single word sensing his anger.....they reached their apartment and manik without waiting for her came out of car closing the door with loud sound and rushed inside the apartment without sparing a look at her......she sighed in nervousness sensing the damage their words had caused......she saw his reaction when those bitter words escaped Mr khuranna's lips....she wanted to console the poor soul....she felt like slapping herself for speaking like that to him.........

Nandini.was running behind manik calling his name but he turned deaf ear to her shoutings and kept walking...... manik entered the room and nandini was about to enter the room behind him but he proved to be quick enough to close the door on her face.....nandini let out a frustrated breath unable to think of solution.........nandini sat on the sofa which was kept right in front of his room thinking about his condition and also looking at the door time by time...........

On the other hand manik threw himself on bed.....his eyes were fixed on floor and his fingers were playing with his shirts button.....he let out deep breaths to calm himself to stop his tears from flowing......but it didn't help him and tears started spilling out of his eyes uncontrollably.......

Ma: I wasn't at fault.....i wasn't (gripped his hairs)...... I was only 12 13 years old......he didn't know that sth like this would happen otherwise he would have never insisted them to come back to India early....... maa baba i didn't know that ur plane would crash (tears flowed down while he looked at the sky from window)..... I miss u but here everyone blames for ur death....... even after many years Mr khuranna still made him remember that dreadful night which snatched manik's childhood from him........after that incident he became mature and did everything to remove that label from his personality.......but it seemed that his efforts went wasted..... no one acknowledged it ........ (he was busy in talking to himself which got disturbed by constant knocking on the door.....he moved towards the door angrily deciding to teach that person lesson)

Outside door nandini was present holding a tray..... few minutes back when she was sitting on sofa sadly she realized that manik hadn't eaten anything from noon and it was night so she prepared his favourite sandwiches for him hoping that it would help in calming him a little and then she would say sorry to him for her words

Meanwhile manik opened the door breaking her chain of thoughts and snapped angrily

Ma: what

Nandini startled at his sharp tone but managed to calm down and stated in low tone while looking at his dark red eyes which were depicting how much pain he was experiencing

N: wo khana (food)........ (he gave her an angry glare).... ummmm tmne kuch nhi khaya u must be hungry (managing to pass a smile)

Ma: don't act as if u care.....m sick of these fake concerns (he shouted remembering how khuranna was acting nice to him before the time he refused to marry his daughter.......after the revelation his behaviour changed to 180 degree)

And without waiting for her reply he closed the door with thud while nandini opened her mouth to say sth in her defence but closed it immediately getting scared at his action and flinched at her place..........

After that she moved back to kitchen and placed the tray on counter....she then grabbed water bottle and drank water while staring at the sandwiches she made for both of them and then left the kitchen without even taking a single bite......

Next morning

Ma: haan daadi m fine Shi mein (making the knot and assuring daadi for the nth time)

Ga: a son shouldn't lie to his mother manu.....u know u can't lie to me (she scolded him for lying to her)

Ma: hmmmm but I will be fine daadi dw (sighing in defeat).... both were silent didn't know what to say.......after few seconds he said

Ma: btw daadi m getting late will talk to u later....... bye daadi luv u (giving her flying kiss)

Manik marched out of room and he found nandini setting dinning table for breakfast......he raised his eyebrow at this unusual site....its been a week after their marraige and he had observed that nandini was never a morning person....but then he chosed to ignore it and started marching towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast for himself but stopped after listening nandini saying

N: breakfast is ready manik (smiling brightly)

Manik thought of sth and then searched for sticky notes  in his pants pocket.....he grabbed ballpoint and started writing sth on notes which confused nandini ........ after writing sth he pasted that note on dining table and went away picking his car keys wallet and an apple for his breakfast..........sadness engulfed nandini as she saw him moving out of apartment without glancing at the breakfast made by her with so much effort.....she moved to read the note

Waise toh i know it doesn't bother u whether m late or early but still m telling u that I will be late....well u can visit soha anytime car and driver will be available......

Nandini was feeling weird bcz she wasn't able to see manik's smiling face and his childish acts that day......she decided to call him and say sorry .......on the other hand bell rang and manik looked at the phone all drained bcz of too much work but after looking at the caller id his frustration increased.....he sighed to calm himself and said

Ma: yeah any problem (scratching the table's corner with ball pen)

N: ummmm manik wo........ (stuttering bcz of nervousness)

Ma: speak up nandini I don't have that much free time (coldly)

N: u r busy???? (Asked a stupid question )

Ma: well they don't pay me to relax in the office and talk to my so called wife..... (rolling his eyes he snapped at her loudly and disconnected the call)

He moved his hand in his hair trying to calm his anger......he knew he was rude to her but he wanted to do it....he wanted her to feel the same pain as he felt.....he only married the girl of his choice and everyone made it a sin.....previous day everyone made him feel like a culprit.....nandini's words hurted him the most and he decided to maintain a distance well that's what She wanted and when he started doing it then nandini was doing foolish things just to talk to him.....and it increased his anger........why people always act like this phle kuch baad mein kuch he thought

At 8 he went to home thinking that he would have to make dinner for himself.....he pushed the door open and threw his tie but soon his eyes found nandini sitting on the dining chair with her head bowed down......manik unknowingly went towards her pushing his anger to make her sleep in a comfortable position.....as soon as he touched her she flinched in sleep and then she took few seconds to open her eyes fully.....she found manik inftont  of her all tired........she stretched her hand yawning and a smile crept on manik's face looking at the cute sight.....he scolded himself for smiling bcz still he was angry at her but it seemed that his heart wasn't in his control.....nandini got up saying

N: wo sorry wait karte karte so gye.....ruko khana leke ati mein

Ma: no it's okay mein kar leta u go and sleep......(in soft tone)

N: but mjhe bhook bhi lge naa(pouting )

Ma: tmne khana nhi Khaya (widening his eyes as it was unusual)

N: I was waiting for u......and manik's eyes Bulger out at her words....she was actually waiting for him but he chose to remain mum

Later they ate their dinner but manik didn't speak with her that much he only answered her with 1 or 2 words...and went towards his room while nandini sat there sadly after missing the chance to say sorry once again

It was Sunday and manik was watching tv leisurely.......in that whole week manik avoided talking to her....they only interacted thru notes they were sticking for eachother.....nandini tried to remove these differences but her words had done much damage which couldn't be fixed in such a short time........she was getting mad bcz of the strange atmosphere.....she was missing the chirpy manik........

She sat besides him making manik glance at her with his eyebrow raised.........then he noticed the distance between them and immediately moved away from her remembering nandini's words that she wanted him to stay away from her.........he gave her the remote and engrossed himself in book.......nandini stared at him and then at remote......she started surfing channels to control her nervousness.......manik was getting uncomfortable so he decided to went to his room but nandini's grip on his hand stopped him from going......

N: plzzz sit here...... I wanna say sth (his eyes pleading him to agree to her)

Manik sat down again maintaining safe distance......he was looking at ground tapping his foot on ground...

N: manik that day I was in stress......i didn't know wth I was speaking and I have realized that I spoke shit that day.......but I didn't mean even 1 word...(gripping his hand in b/w hers)....m sorry I m really very sorry.......... u know soha is very close to me so i got angry and blamed u for everything..........from that day m feeling very guilty plzzz forgive me

Nandini after completing waited for his answer but found him tapping his foot and his gaze on floor ......... after exhaling deep breaths he looked at him smiling painfully

Ma: yhi to tm chahti thi naa ke mein tmhare se dur raho to whi kar rha mein.........(removing her hands from his)

He got up to leave but then turned to her and said

Ma: aur haan apni pasand se shaadi karne koi gunah nhi hota (sarcastically)
