I wake up the the next morning and dark and i go for a jog then i go to work but today was different i was gonna ask for a raise i feel its something i deserve... I mean out of the 17 years I have been on Earth living a regular life I've worked 6 years for this company being the best employee I could ever be I stay extra hours I never complain I was basically the preppy bitch of the office okay on Fridays if I was feeling it I bring donuts to people free I might add I think a raise is a good reward don't you think?

So after I work my 8 long hours my boss asked me to stay back and fix a few things so I decided to take this opportunity to ask for a raise.

" thank you so much for staying behind and doing a bit of extra work I know you shouldn't be staying behind two extra hours just to fix files and all that but sometimes the other employees can lag behind and I am lucky to have an employee like you who is willing to take one for the team." my boss says.

" it's my pleasure mr. Johnson and now that you mention it I actually wanted to talk about that you know I've been working with this company for about 6 years now and well I was wondering if I could get a raise."

He laughed." I mean yes you have been working very hard at this company and I appreciate your extra efforts and I'm glad to have a long-term employee like you but I don't think you have exactly earned it yet."

" pardon me if this comes off as rude but how do I not deserve a raise I'm not asking for a promotion I understand that a promotion is something that must be worked for it and it is something that the boss must decide so it may have but a raise I think it's something I very well deserved I have worked over the maximum limit of hours I should be working at this office space you have asked me to plan Christmas parties and small birthday surprises for certain other employees you even asked me to do something where every Friday I would give her a donut I have done everything that you have ever asked me I have been nothing but faithful to this company how do I not deserve a raise?" i question

"I mean you just havent got there yet."

"Oh i see well um im sorry to waste your time um i will put away these files and go home." i say

"Oh no take your time."

I bent down and put the files in. I feel like someone staring at me and i see my boss. " I'm sorry mr. Johnson is there a problem?" i asked.

"If you are willing to i know a way to earn that raise a promotion even." he says.

"What way would that be?"

"How about we grab a hotel for a few hours and see what happens? A pretty lady like you must be good in bed." he flirts

I clear my throat"uh thank you for the extremely heavy compliment. You are an attractive man but i prefer to earn my way to the top honestly and in work relations its against company regulations and i have a boyfriend already to add on werent you recently married?"

" yeah but nobody has to know not even my wife that is if you keep quiet of course." he says caressing my cheek.

I pull away. " I'm sorry mr. Johnson but I'm a woman who stands by her morals and I have too much Integrity to do such a thing as much as I enjoy a shortcut and I think everyone does I do not have time to be sneaking around or something such as a high status."

" you know business is a dirty game deceitfulness lying cheating taking shortcut going the easy way that is the way to get into the top that is how everyone gets to the top nobody gets to the top being honest I have had to cheat and take shortcuts to get where I am."

" well if nobody has ever gotten to the top honest I'll be the first." i put away my last file." I'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning mr. Johnson have a nice night." i grab my bag and go home once i get home i slam the door throw off my shoes and flop on the couch and scream into a pillow.

"That motherfucking asshole!!" i yell. I noticed something about the house is extremely quiet and there's no chaos."dark are you here?" i called out. "Dark?"

No reply.

"Good yknow what good hes gone this week so far has been hell im gonna call Isaac and see if he wants to come over so we can watch a movie with me." i say.

Isaac is my boyfriend we met a few months back at a resturaunt for at a company party and we just clicked.

"Hello?" i say.

"Hey um whos this?" he questioned.

"Its your girlfriend silly."

"Oh (y/n) um uh hey whats whats going on?" he asked

" well I just had a bad day at work and it's getting a little lonely over here I was wondering if you wanted to come by my house so we could cuddle and watch a movie?"

" don't you see what time it is?" he asked.

"Its 10:26 why?"

" we both have work tomorrow honey it's not a good idea."

"Yea i know but remember we stayed up late until 12am last week watching harry potter why cant you come over now?"

"I have to work overtime to work that day off."

"Isaac?"

"Yea?"

"Why are you whispering?" i asked.

"Im tired honey look can we just discuss all this tomorrow?"

"Yea sure i guess ill talk to you later."

"Yea."

"I love-" *CLICK!!* he hung up. "You." i throw my phone on the table and im teleports dark.

"Hey there." he says.

"Hi." i said

"Take out or pizza?" he asked.

"Ugh both!" i groan in frustation.

He snapped his fingers and like that a hot pizza with two take out containers were on the coffee table.

"Maybe having you around isn't as bad as I thought it would be." i say. I snap my fingers and im in my jammies aka a sports bra and shorts. I sit on the couch and grab a container of lo mein. I rest against one arm rest while dark rest on the other:

I begin to eat.

"So I take it you had another very bad day and you don't want to talk about it."

"Yea i dont, so what about you what did you do today?"

" I decided to pester mark."

"Mustve been fun." i say.

" so how old are you exactly considering your friends with Kane and the Knights of Hell."

" appearance-wise I'm 25 otherwise millions and millions of years old to be honest I lost track along time ago."

" okay but seriously you had to teach me how to do that that thing that thing you did."

"That thing?" i question.

" yes that thing where you can just read people by just looking at them that's cool and useful I mean that's months and months of constantly stalking someone gone just by staring at them for a few good minutes that could be of some use."

I chuckle." That thing is called psychology I went to college and studied for it just by looking at somebody you can read somebody's body language and tell what they're thinking feeling whether they're lying or not or rather they're hiding something for example that night when you came in the only reason I was able to get everything is because one based off of prior knowledge about alter egos and two your eyes and your body language just told me everything when I guess the letter wrong you didn't move but when I went up as a letter that I was right about you flinched your eyes won't your pupils really got bigger meaning you're shocked or surprised so I kept guessing and then I got it what it wanted out of you."

We talked about psychology for a bit I taught him a few tips and tricks we had a few good laughs and before I knew it we are both going to bed.

Me and dark went to the gym for a change and boxed a little bit.

Then i went to work.

Today we were supposed to have a meeting.

So everyone meets in the board room. Everyone comes in first off somebody spills coffee all over me. I cleaned out the coffee as best as i could but the big white coffee spot still remained.

Then this...

" thank you everyone for attending the meeting coming in on time I really appreciate it weren't you supposed to bring Refreshments for the meeting?" mr.Johnson asked.

"Uh yes i left them in the car." i lie. I get up and get on the elevator and run to the coffee shop across the street. Then come back. I put the donuts on the table.

"There you go guys."

Mr.johnson grabs the donut then spits it out."how long were they in the car?!"

"I got a fresh batch since the other batch wasnt as fresh."

"Well you might have to make another trip and bring fresh coffee."

"Ok no no no this aint happening ive worked my ass off for 6 long years kissing your ass i ask for a simple raise i wasnt picky i just wanted a little more on my pay check and you reject me because i refuse to sleep with you? Im not putting up with this shit."

Somebody play fuck this shit im out. Unexpectedly. I take the donuts and throw them on his head and walk out to the beat.

"Peace out bitches!!!" i yell on the elevator.

I drive home to see dark lying on the couch. I took off my heels off and jump on top of him."surprise motherfucker!"

He jumps and scream

I laugh. "Oh this made my day!" i said.

"Why are you even home early."

" my dick wad of a boss decided to be a jerk today because I rejected him last night so I quit."

"How are you gonna keep your lights on and youre precious high speed internet." he said mimicking me.

"Im a demon right? I have powers money at my finger tips." i say smiling.

"Youre becoming more likeable congratulations!!" Dark joked.

"Shut up!" i say.

"Tell me something?"

"Yea what?"

"Whys you want to live a boring mundane human life anyways?"

"Because i got tired of killing i knew all the method humane and inhumane i got tired it so i wanted to do something different."

" How do you maintain not using your powers and resisting the urge to kill even in times where you become angry?"

"The first few months it was hard because I was used to just snapping my fingers and getting my way with everything but I knew that it wouldn't work down here even though we could easily manipulate anybody I didn't want to use my powers and when things aren't going right it was so hard not to just snap my fingers and make all my problems disappear but the less I used my Powers the more I adapted the less my bloodlust could control me."

"Mhm wanna play friday the 13th and then scare the living shit out of people on omegle?"

We did so for about three hours then we ate left over pizza and after a few more hours of playing video games we went to bed.
