Shrugged Off
I shared the weight of what was said,
a heart exposed, a voice that bled.
"I think he crossed a line with me,"
but all they gave was apathy.
"It's not a big deal," they waved it away,
"Boys are like that, what can you say?"
My words fell flat, lost in the air,
as if my pain just wasn't there.
I hoped for comfort, or maybe care,
but found no refuge waiting there.
"Just laugh it off," they said with ease,
but inside, I felt no release.
Their smiles stayed bright, their laughter loud,
while I shrank small within the crowd.
A truth dismissed, a burden to bear,
left standing alone, in silent despair.
