T W O: The Ruins

Toriel guided you to the entrance of the ruins. There was a pile of leaves and stairs leading up to another door. You walked up the stairs into the other door. There were a series of buttons and a closed door. "The Ruins is full of puzzles, so get used to seeing them." She stepped on a few buttons and the door opened.

After a while of going through the ruins and solving puzzles, Toriel eventually had to go to the store. You decided to wait. She called a few times, asking whether you preferred cinnamon or butterscotch and also ask if you had any allergies... for some odd reason.

When Toriel came back, she decided to guide you through the rest of the ruins and finally led you to her house. "Welcome home, child!" She said as you followed her inside.

Everything looked nice. She then led you to your new room. She rubbed the top of your head. "Oh, something's burning." She said in a startled tone. "You can go check out your room, I'll see you in a minute!" She dashed out of the room and into the kitchen. It seemed kind of odd, but you decided to sleep it out. Your head still hurt from the fall, anyway.

---

When you woke up, the room was dark, and you noticed something on the floor. It was a slice of pie. You didn't know what kind, but you sat down and decided to eat it. You opened the door and walked out of your room and down the hall. You saw Toriel on her chair reading a book on what seemed to be... snails?

"Ah, good morning child!" Toriel greeted you. "Did you like the pie?" You nodded and thanked her. "You're welcome, child! I'm glad you liked it."

A question came into your mind. When were you going to go home? You asked Toriel, and her eyes widened. "Child, you... are home." She decided to change the subject. "Do you want to hear a fact about snails?"

You asked again. "Oh, child, I have to tend to something real quick." Toriel changed her motherly, kind, look to something more serious. She then rushed down the stairs that were ahead of the entrance to the house. You decided to follow her.

You finally caught up to her in a dark hall. "Go back to your room, child. I don't want you to have the same fate as the other children that fell down here." She walked farther down the hall, and you caught up to her once again. "They come, they leave, they die. It happens every time. Him... ASGORE... will kill you. So be a good child and go upstairs." Toriel walked around a corner, and you followed her yet again. She was finally at a portal. Magic lit up in her hands. "This is your way out, and I'm going to destroy it. I'm only doing this to protect you, child."

"But, I want to see what's out there..." Curiosity sparked within you, and you fell onto your knees. You just wanted to see your family again. You just wanted to see the surface again. Toriel's magic dissipated and she looked back at you, still bearing that stern look on her face.

"Well then. If you think you are able to go out there..." Toriel turned towards you, her magic roaring back to life. "Show me that you are able to survive."

Your (F/C) soul showed up again. Toriel soon threw her magic towards you. You ran to the side, dodging what you could, taking a few hits along the way.

Whenever she stopped and it was your turn to attack, you didn't you decided to spare her.

But Toriel wouldn't allow it. You kept trying to spare her, but then she stopped aiming her magic towards you. It fell to the sides, the magic seeming to dodge you instead of you dodging the magic.

Then Toriel stopped. She walked over to you and hugged you. "You can go. But be good, alright?" She sobbed a little bit. "And please, never come back. Goodbye, child." She then walked away, and you walked into the portal.

You suddenly entered a snowy area. A long path was in front of you. You walked down the path. An eerie silence surrounded you, and then you suddenly heard a twig snap. You looked behind you, and saw nothing. You shrugged it off and kept walking forward. When you reached a bridge, you heard footsteps crunching in the snow behind you.
