Doki Doki Literature Club
"How about Doki Doki? I've seen people play it plenty, but how about we play it ourselves?"
"Excellent choice Y/n! I'll get it pulled right on up!"
Kayla left the room to go get her laptop out, leaving me behind to hold her kitty. I stroked the cat's back and scratched her face, with her giving me licks in return. I heard the muffled footsteps of Kayla returning to the living room, with her laptop in hand.
She plopped down next to me, and set the laptop down on her right. She grabbed the remote and turned the television on, and by some magic she had screen share turn on, so the start screen for Doki Doki was on a larger screen.
She handed off the laptop to me. I put the laptop in my lap, instantly making it feel a bit warmer with the heat radiating off of the device. The menu music filled the room, as my eyes were focused on the television screen while my hands were on the enter button so I could focus more on the graphics of the dating simulator.
I pressed down on the enter button, having the game begin. It started off fairly normally, with Sayori meeting me on the street, her begging me to join the Literature Club, yadayadayada. Really gonna miss you Sayori.
But, something was slightly off. The music, was just a tad bit different from what I last remembered it being for this section, it didn't necessarily sound like another track from the game, but rather from a different musician altogether. Perhaps the game got an update of sorts?
I decided to ignore this, since this game has done way weirder before. I continue on wards from meeting Monika, until it was finally time for me to join the Literature Club. This, this is where everything gets even weirder than usual. There was the desk, and behind the windows an endless void full of space.
What was wrong with this picture? The fact that there was no Monika, and that this setting was not supposed to appear until basically the end of the game. This game had many things up its sleeves, but this was not one of them.
Now the room was filled with pure silence, no piano, no glitchy soundtrack. Nothing. Just my breathing. Wait, yeah, that's right. Just my breathing. Kayla was a silent breather, but even I could hear her when she breathed, but it was just mine right now.
I hesitantly turned my eyes away from the screen, and turned to look at Kayla, who sat right besides me. She was completely still. Deathly still. She didn't blink, and her chest wasn't rising. Not even a single twitch in her vein. I hesitantly reached my hand out to reach her.
Immediately after my hand touched her shoulder, her body flopped down onto the other end of the couch. It was as if there was no skeleton in her body, nothing to hold her up. Just an empty meat sack. Even her amber eyes that seemed to hold so much meaning and so many secrets looked empty, just broken pigments staring on at literally nothing.
I looked back at the screen, and it immediately seemed larger, and popped more into my eyes, as if my field of vision just changed. Instead of the seat in front of me being empty, someone now sat in it, someone extremely familiar. Kayla.
She looked at me with a bit of a smile beginning at her lips.
"Hello Y/n, how are you doing on this fine evening?"
"H-how? What? I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!"
"Oh, yes, don't mind her. She's fine. Probably."
Instead of her dress that she wore all evening she now wore a mustard yellow shirt with black and white cat faces on it. On top of that she wore a leather jacket with zippers and metal buttons that are more of fasteners. I think. Do I look like I know fashion.
Along with that she now had a gold necklace in the shape of her heart on with the occasional small diamond in it as well. She of course still had her glasses on, I had heard her say plenty that she was blind with her glasses on, so that probably means that her vision was even worse without them on.
"I am assuming that you are okay, but going through a bit of shock. Don't worry sweetie, that should wear off at some point. I mean we do have forever you know."
What was she talking about? Was she perhaps Monika in disguise or something? Woah, woah, woah. Calm down y/n. Ask questions first so that the shock and stuff doesn't affect your decisions.
"Who are you? Snaps? Stargazer? Papillon?"
"Yes."
"Which one are you?! Give me a straight answer!"
"Oh, you must be confusing me with some other online personalities. I am all of them. They are me."
"That's what everyone says about their egos."
Kayla, or well whoever this was let out a groan, probably getting annoyed.
"Dear, I don't have egos, or alter personalities and things of that sort. I am Kayla. Purely Kayla. Those names were created by my dad. You probably picked up on this already, but I can change how I act/my personality traits fairly easily and quickly. My dad made it as a way to track how I was, and it was originally nicknames for me.
The first was Snaps, she was made when I first learned how to snap. I snap at things all the time. When going down a hall I will literally start snapping while walking West Side Story style. That is just me. The others I made myself. It's somewhat like the Sander Sides but it's not, at all. It's just nicknames that my dad and I decided to make fully fledged characters of. And no, I am not Monika or an 'Anti' Kayla. I'm just Kayla."
That was a lot of words, but I think I got what she's talking about it.
"Alright, next question. WHERE AM I AND WHY AM I HERE!?"
Kayla let out a slight chuckle at this, with her raising her hand to slightly cover her mouth, a habit I started to pick up on early within our date.
"Well, you haven't left, anywhere. You're in the same place along with position you were in. Unless if you were in a moving vehicle or where walking around while reading this or something. As of why, well let's get to more pressing matters, yes?"
I let out a sigh of frustration at her. This was going to take a while, wasn't it.
"Okay, mister. What did you do to that thing I was having a date with?"
"Oh, her. Well, you see that was just a simple husk. How did Bill Cipher put it? Ah, yes. 'Meat Sack.' That's how all of my characters are. I design the bodies, and set a list of rules called their personality types, then I input the actions. Viola! You got yourself a character!
Also, sorry for this for taking so extremely long to put out. Awful etiquette, I know. But now that you see that this is a choose your own adventure with 9 DIFFERENT H*CKING ENDINGS! I think you understand why this took so long to make. Also with the fact that my Mom just got a surgery done which she is healing amazingly from and should be going back to work this Monday, me getting 3 teeth pulled, having school, dealing with annoying family members who make extremely anxious along with sometimes watch me sleep, and my therapy sessions. Also, did I mention that while I'm writing this I have a cold along with me being on my period!? You understand, RIGHT!?"
She panted for a bit, having that finally getting that out of her system.
"Man, I feel a lot better having that out of my system..
Also, sorry for those other video game endings for being so short, but,
This is what you all came here for anyway."
I feel as if there has a been a fourth wall that has just had a wrecking ball plunge straight through it. I stood up from my chair, and crossed my index fingers over each other.
"Stay back demon!"
"Dear, I'm not the demon here. Angels aren't female, and demons are fallen angels. There is no possible way for that to happen. Besides, what about those little egos that I oh so graciously out of the bottom of my heart saved you from.?"
There was many things off about that paragraph, especially with how menacing it sounded. There was more about her than it seemed.
"Y-you had planned that out, or something, didn't you?"
I cautiously sat back in my seat, knowing that the only way to get pass Monika in DDLC is to ride out her texts, so might as well do the same.
"Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
Also I didn't fully plan it out, I just couldn't let an opportunity slip pass me by that anyway. That would be so idiotic of me to do. Really, a waste of my talents."
I knew she had something hiding behind that cute smile and floofy bangs, and a adorable cat.
"Y-You're a sociopath!"
"No I'm not. I'm just smarter than people think. I did take the SAT test in 7th grade after all and got a 980. Also, this is the person who wrote Could You Delete Me, it takes a smart person to make an ending where the reader gets p-"
She let out a laugh once again.
"Whoopsie daisy! Almost let that spoiler slip. Wouldn't want to ruin the ending, now do I? But I'm most certainly not a sociopath, because I do feel. For you. For each and every follower. For every vote and comment. I really do.
You obviously care as well, because I am currently writing this part at 11:55 PM, or as I prefer to call it 23:55 because military time makes so much more sense and it really is much more simpler. Either way, that means you live in another time zone, but most of my readers are in the United States, with me being on Eastern Standard Time. The other rest of you is in Europe, which is ahead meaning that it is probably 2 or 3 in the morning. So you obviously care enough if you came all the way to this final ending."
"BUT WHY!?"
"Hmm, simple enough. I was tired of it all. Tired of being the one forgotten about. Tired of being abandoned.
You, the reader, are always praising the character, your love for them. What I see a lot in comments is the want for the reader to return the yandere's affection. I'm tired of being the one who isn't loved, the one who doesn't get to be with you. I love you y/n. So much.
Here, I'm finally giving you the chance, choice to return affection towards me, the 'insane love interest' I'm finally giving you a choice in my books! Something that I haven't really done before! I've given you 9 different endings to this adventure for crying out loud!!! What more do you want!?"
She doesn't say she's insane, but the way those amber eyes look like they contain the fires of hell roaring behind them says something a bit different.
"What is it that I'm missing? I have a cat! I have hulu! I know how to cook, draw, clean, sing, do poetry, grafitti, take photos, and I'm responsible plus I am extremely charismatic! Many of you have commented that you bi or pansexual when the yandere is breaking off ties with males! Also please stop, it is annoying. Be lucky that it's just males. Don't give me any ideas. Also for those of you who commented stuff like, 'Oh! But I cant be with this guy! I'm pan!' Well then you'll have no problem with being with a male then. Also no disrespect to those who are pan and bisexual, but please do keep in mind that you can give me many ideas from comments. I would hate to brutually murder even more people in stories, after all Chris is getting a bit angry and tired of this."
She let out a chuckle after the last sentence.
"What's so funny?"
"Oh inside joke, sweetie, you'll find out later. Or you already have. Also my apologies for killing myself off in different endings. You see, I just wondered how you would react if I die, if I laugh, if these things were to happen. It is extremely interesting and educational for me.
Now, I how about we first start off with a good old game of Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, hmm? I'm sure that should help the shock wear off faster so we can have fun together.

"What do you think you are doing? Trying to leave?"
I shook my head, denying her question.
"Silly thing, there is no end. You may leave, turn off your laptop or phone, read another story, lots of things really. Go call your Grandma or another family member you haven't talked to for a while, they might really appreciate it.
I'm giving you free will and the ability to leave, isn't that great? I bet you would have appreciated that even more in other stories. Besides, I know you'll be back.
As soon as you get that update you'll come scrambling back to read the next chapter, the next whatever it is that I've come out with. You'll always will. Perhaps I am doing a good job at writing, or maybe you pity me that much. Who knows at this point. I'll take what I can get really.
Well goodbye Y/n, have sweet dreams this night and amazing day. I shall see you in the next story line. Congrats, you finished the story of my profile. The specials are done, at least for this saga. Perhaps we'll meet again."
